I'm proud of my brother Capt. Alvin Taylor for achievement far beyond many peoples expectations. He has served the community for 20 years and is also some one I look up to and try to model myself after. Keep up the good work bro and luv you.

I am in the Air Force reserves and recently graduated from the fire academy. I have EMR, Fire 1, Fire 2, Hazmat and ARFF. Was curious as to what other qualifications I would need to be eligible to apply for a job with you all.

I would recommend you get your EMT at a minimum. If you have a California State Fire Marshal Firefighter 1 academy completion and an EMT you are competitive. Your military service is also valuable when applying for jobs in the fire service. Most Cal Fire employees start out as Firefighter 1s which is a seasonal position that gets you familiar with the department and is a good avenue to promote to a Firefighter 2 (permanent firefighter) or FAE (Fire Apparatus Engineer). Cal Fire usually hires seasonal firefighters starting in November. Hope this helps!
