I made this film as a simulation for people to understand what it can be like to live a day with ADHD. This is to battle the stigma behind it and the best way to do that is with understanding

Lucky you! My 2 brothers (23y/o and 15y/o) have ADHD and I'm (21y/o girl) still trying to get diagnosed, but I'm certain I have it. I'm also certain my Dad (63y/o) has it, but he's completely unaware and keeps blaming my Mum's genes. He's incredibly hard to talk to about these types of things, doesn't have good knowledge about it, and isn't open minded in the slightest way, which makes it even harder to cope. It really surprises me how he can be so unaware of his OWN self and how he hasn't realised, all these years, that he is slightly different to other people. Did he never notice the barriers/struggles at school? At work? At home? I don't know how he hasn't picked up on it. And worst of all, he has ZERO empathy for us when we just CAN'T help but being the way we are. Forgetful, distracted, etc. Honestly, consider yourself extremely lucky!!

From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later

I love my older sister dearly, she was like a second mother to me. Even at a pretty young age, I was aware she was “different” but I didn’t care, I loved her and we had fun and that’s what mattered. I try my best to make her comfortable, but she always seems to happy when we hang out so I don’t think I need to do much to help her, as our friendship is enough :) I still try to understand her, so that we can be the supportive figure in eachothers lives, that we never really got. I appreciate this short film? a lot! It brings awareness.

ADHD sucks man, for me the worst moments are when I'm walking and my brain just goes "hmm who created God?" And started thinking about random crap and I'd go "wait a minute where am i? " or "wait I'm not supposed to go this way!", these happens a lot to me. Or that time when your parents ask you to but something like "buy A, B, and C" and you completely forgot about C and your parents will start yelling at you.

In actuality, i think you could've shown this better on video. When you lose focus, you start to drift somewhere else, thinking of something else, while everything is blurry, people around you that speak start to sound like they're speaking non-sense, and soon, the more you drift away from anything, the blurrier sounds become and so does your vision. This happens allot, allloooot. And i think i described the best i could. Also once you come back from the drift, be it some dopamine that gets you back, like a familiar sound to something you like, or someone calling your name out, it will switch you back to reality, but ofcourse not for a long while... Edit: no criticism here, i was just showing how this video could show the effects of adhd even better. 😊

I have the same thing, i can remember like things that you learn at school in general normally by a combination of two problems i may have, but not anything else. I can forget something i am doing or just did easily, and because of my probable ADHD/ aphantasia combination (aphantasia disabling people to remember things with one or more of the five senses ; and me having it "total" i guess) it would be less obvious because it would cancel a few effects; i got in trouble for it a few times now, and starting to think more and more about diagnostising when i can :/ Have a nice day !

@@nopenope3468 Brooke D is right. Our parents like to think they always know what’s best for us in order to raise us the best they can. They have to be super confident in order to do so. I am here to say that sometimes they do not always know what’s best for you. In some cases it truly makes sense to ask for help. No shame in that. Wish I could have learned that at a much younger age. I can definitely relate to you. Hope this helps :D

I'm diagnosed with adhd along with a few other things, and this video is dead on. The school scene hit home or me. all grades up until 11 i couldn't sit still or focus. I've worked on bettering myself, have even stopped taking meds but its still difficult staying in control and not losing "focus" and I love how this video is a voice for so many in the same situation, It shows none of us are alone.

For everybody wondering. This is a metaphorical pov, we don't literally see and hear and see things over and over again. Really? I guess everybody's different. I tend to to that though it could be from my Panic Disorder, although I'm 98% sure it's from my ADHD. I replay things over and over in my head. I dont know why, I think I just zero in on the wrong thing and pick it a part. That or when someones talking their words mash together and I'm too busy trying to replay and figure out what they said to listen in present time.

ADHD is different person to person. Sometimes, this metaphorically happens and sometimes I just zone out and my mind has thoughts that pass by at the speed of light and I don't have time to realize what I'm thinking before it's gone and I've moved on to another flicker of a thought and that cycle continues til I tune back into reality.

As someone who is ADHD this is the most accurate video I ever seen. It took me 4 time to re watch this video again, cause I can't force myself to focus it after all, while I just kept the video playing then I go walk around maybe look outside the window, maybe close the video, and go do something else. Or maybe I thinking about something else in mind, and then I forgot which part of the video I watching right now. And then restart the video to watch it again.

I heard it was different from person to person but honestly speaking, everything here felt accurately portrayed to me. Every stimuli goes in all at once and it becomes hard to focus at one thing, and even if you managed to focus, your mind immediately hops to another thing. But for some reason, doing what you love and enjoy makes you hyperfixate on it and you suddenly get the focus of a magnifying glass... Like WTF brain?! Where'd you get all of this focus all of the sudden?

That is the most common thing we will hear growing up and it causes us to think we are not trying that we are failures. Sad that just a little bit of support how much we can accomplish yet even when our families and friends know how much it benefits our everyday lives they will only bring up the failures and never build you up. The hardest part is knowing there is something off in our brains and not having any control over it.

I heard this the most from my dad, who also had really bad adhd, which is likely why I do. I think he saw so much of himself in me, and he felt like a failure in life because he never did well in school despite being very intelligent. He didn't want me ending up like him and so was hard on me but way harder on himself. I wish he could have realized that neither he nor I could help it, and maybe he could have forgiven himself.
