Yeah it's one of the few things about myself where I don't know why but also have a lot of trust in my own judgement of acting/bad acting. I usually either know the root of my feeling or opinion, or I'm very skeptical of myself because I can't back it up with anything scientific. But I seem to be really good at it, or at least I believe so. Here my acting/bs radar is going off.

I've been under antipsychotic drugs since 2015 and it causes me to have tics like what Dapz describes, my doctor calls them dyskinesia. I can say it's not that easy having them and i'm very thankful to Dapz for making this video. It is not fun when they happen, i've been avoiding looking for a job and avoiding going out and meeting people to not have them in front of them because of how embarassing they are. People who fake diseases and make fun of it to get views should be stoped. thank you Dapz 👍🏻

Alot of mental disorders can cause tics they can vary wildly in severity and frequency and type even. None looked like what the girl in the video was doing though. When i was younger had some ticks which now they call it stimming because its somewhat voluntary. Difference being after a while I could somewhat make myself stop and cant really do that with tics. Just my thoughts atleast.

One thing I'll say to this is this happened to me because of my anxiety and found out i had Tourette's at the age of like 13-15. I'm currently 25. I work at McDonald's x.x But thankfully my tics are limited to fingers twitching, excessive eye blinking, and i stop taking and breathing when I'm trying to talk (usually occurs if I'm really stressed or anxious etc).

Hi everyone! I have Tourette’s (diagnosed about a year ago, have had tics for about 3-4 years (at least noticeably)). Feel free to ask questions, but first: I think some things to note are: 1. Everyone’s symptoms are different! There are a lot of different ways Tourette’s can present and one way is not less valid than another! 2. It’s not a mental disorder, it’s a neurological disorder. This means that it has to do with the electrical wiring in your brain where psychiatric disorders have to do with thoughts and chemicals different from these. (This is the best way I know how to explain it but I am not an expert!) 3. It is possible to have tics that don’t necessarily repeat or reflect one’s surroundings, but they do not look the way this woman presents them as. Personally, I don’t have a whole lot of verbal tics, however mine do actually tend to be triggered by the environment or context I’m in, so they tend to not repeat themselves other times. That being said, I have a lot of repeating vocal tics that have nothing to do with the situation. 4. Tics can get more active when you’re thinking , talking about, or witnessing them. My tics get more active when I talk about them or am around other people with tics, but I cannot choose when to have them (as with another that has Tourette’s). 5. My motor tics are much more repetitive than my verbal ones, though I have plenty of repetitive vocal tics (verbal= words, vocal= doubles). For most people, they’ll have a mix of which kinds of tics are more frequent. 6. Tourettic OCD can look a bit different than typical Tourette’s tics. When I have OCD related tics, the repeat over and over until it “feels right”. If the tic is complex (like a sentence) sometimes it can interrupt itself and start over before it can even finish. 7. There are many different kinds of tics, but some that get a bit confusing are simple vs complex tics. Simple tics can be a twitch, word, sound, etc where complex tics usually appear as more of a series of actions or words (sentences, etc). There are also dystonic tics where the tic is “held” rather than happening very suddenly (unfortunately I don’t rlly know how else to explain that one). 8. THIS ONE IS VERY IMPORTANT!! PEOPLE LIKE TICS AND ROSES ARE NOT AN EXCUSE OR REASON TO ACCUSE OTHER PEOPLE OF FAKING THEIR CONDITIONS. This can be incredibly harmful to people that actually do suffer with the condition as it invalidates their struggles with it. we already struggle enough with people that don’t believe it even exists in the first place, let alone people that are convinced it’s a trend. The best thing you can do about people like her is simply not interact and try to educate those that don’t know about how and why those things are harmful. There are plenty of great creators out there that speak on these kinds of things (like ThisTrippieHippy for example). If you made it to the end, thank you for reading and I hope this comment was helpful!

The lady made me so angry because while yes I do laugh at mine it still hurts it’s still draining and I get frustrated, usually mine happens when I’m really stressed and also certain sounds or words will make me tic. Also not everyone says words when they tic, I personally haven’t mines a lot more noises and head movements. I’m sorry someone is 1)essentially mocking your disorder 2)spreading misinformation 3)taking attention away from the people’s voices who should be heard. Great video. Also I think it’s kind of adorable that you pinned “Please do not subscribe, this isn’t my usual content”, when so many people beg for likes and subscribers, or do the bait and switch to try to trick people. @@dioramsay1337 It can be almost anything, not just sounds or words. My friend used to make a breathy hum sound, then groan and shout "yes". My sister makes this awful shrugging motion that even looks painful. A while back I had an issue where my right eye would clamp shut so hard that when my eye opened again I could see sparkles and my eye had to refocus, not sure exactly what was happening with my eye there. But I eventually got an eyepatch to keep my right eye closed most of the time, which seemed to help reduce the frequency and intensity of the "winks". It still happens, it was just waayyyy worse back then because it was an extremely stressful time. It all sucks. It's disruptive, it annoys people even if they understand, it can be painful, it sucks. You don't think about a tic before it happens. It's like walking around a corner and walking into someone, it's a shock for half a second and then you're fine, just a bit annoyed. I suppose there is a bit more "warning" involved, as in, you can feel the tick building. Maybe it's more like seeing a car about to give you a fender bender from behind, you see the car coming just as it's getting in too close and you only have time to process and say "Fu-" before it hits.

Again, not trying to label or diagnose anyway, but in my personal opinion; anyone who glorifies or fakes this kind of thing is suffering from something. I tend to spin my foot in a circle, or tap it up and down(furiously), and people just see it as a nervousness thing (which is kinda true I guess). I even do it when I'm about to fall asleep and my mind and body are almost fully asleep. And as soon as I notice I'm doing it I am able to stop, but I do prefer not to. Sometimes people see me do it and they unconsciously start doing it themselves, cause tapping your foot is what people tend to do anyways, just not as much. And sometimes when I'm sitting on a bench It can bother other people cause the vibrations from the tapping travel thru the bench and cause it to shake.

@@mypeyboritetiramisu11 yeah except you clearly misunderstand what is being referred to... Context clearly implies that the ticks can be funny, not this person faking it for clout. You clearly didn't get that based on your responses. First of all I do have someone who has that and they do laugh about it. Secondly they weren't implying faking it was funny, they were implying that some ticks can be perceived as humorous, I don't know why you think they meant the person faking the disorder. The initial comment clearly uses "it's" (referring to tourrettes) and not "theirs" ( which would refer to the tik tok person faking) Again not everything is an attack on people and don't respond or rush to conclusions until you are sure you know what you are talking about or the context in which something was said. Have a nice day and hopefully now you understand and maybe learned something. Also I'd suggest you stop implying people from tourrettes are "suffering".

I have never been diagnosed but watching this video, specifically the end where you "rate" your own tics I wonder if maybe I have it? I do the... aggressive? Eye blinks (don't know how else to describe it) and the neck popping, moving my ears and nose. I have been told by a couple people that I occasionally make an "ERR" sound while talking but I have yet to catch myself doing it, even when immediately called on it. I CAN stop myself from doing these things, but it's uncomfortable-like holding your breath almost. You can do it for a while but then when you stop you're gasping, or, in this case, twitching even worse than normal. I don't have involuntary movements aside from my face so I'm not sure if that's tourrettes or something else but maybe I should look into it more 🤔 it's always just been my normal, I've never really thought about it in terms of a disorder.

It's completely unpredictible and he can't choose what happens. He has destroyed his neck with his twitches to the point that he has a lot of difficulties to work. The girl in the video is laughing.... I know my friend since a lot of years and doing twitches is not funny at all. It took me maybe 3 or 4 years to understand what was happening. Now he is ok and the best thing I do is just ignoring, not judging and being here when he needs it. I will show him the video. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens so much across so many ailments. As someone who was diagnosed with schizophrenia as a teen, in the past I've had to deal with what I can only presume were kids online talking about how "amazing it is to have schizophrenia because you always have people to talk to!" and comments like that. People speak without thought and often act in the same fashion. I will be honest though, I know next to nothing about tourettes, but can only presume that this kind of severity would be so grotesquely caricature that it would be more at home on something like Monty Python as opposed to it being even remotely genuine.
