I always love shooting cinestill at night because of how it brings out those cool, blue tones, but it was really interesting to see how 800T renders daytime shots. Definitely going to try shooting a roll during the day now. Thanks for showing us these great shots!

1:45 They till shoot movies on it! Interstellar, Rise of Skywalker, The Irishman, Little women, marriage story, Westworld, No Time to Die... all vision 3 :) Love the shots of the guy in the wheelchair and the night shots! Fun vid man.

No way! I didn't know they shot Interstellar on film... that makes me love it even more. I'll have to look more into that - thanks for sharing!

Cameron Zamot yeah man. Check it out for sure. Many big films are still being shot on Kodak vision 3 film. There are a few different speeds, but the version thy becomes cinestill 800T is the 500T emulsion. Enjoy!!
@Slightlyhungryartist4 жыл бұрын
I'm finding this late, but IMDB actually lists the film used on films under "technical specs" so movies like Dunkirk used a few versions of Kodak film but include what 500T (Cinestill's precursor) along with 50D (Cinestill 50D) and a few other ASA ratings like 300T, but the entire movie was shot on film. I always go to IMDB to check when I see sweet color grading in a movie that I feel like is probably film haha.

These are some of the best samples I’ve seen with this film stock. Your eye is so good! I’m waiting for my first roll in the mail and I’m so stoked.

Havent done the math yet but you should buy a bulk loader and a can of kodak vision500t. Same thing but different chemical developing althought some people process it with c-41
@enricodeharder49844 жыл бұрын
@@sitrep2418 Not completely the same, because Cinestill 800T has the remjet removed which exagerates the red halo around white lightsources. Removal of the remjet also improves light sensitivity, that's why it's called 800T.

If I shoot it at 400 and develop it normal .. for daytime and night do you think it would come out nice ?Also was your iso set at box speed 800 ?
@CameronZamot3 жыл бұрын
That will be a bit overexposed but should be fine! I’ve heard that shooting it at 500 gives some great results. For this video I did shoot it at 800.

Cameron, have you ever wanted to shoot some videos on one of the film formats? Maybe super 8mm or 16mm? That would make your channel take off it you wanted to try that in your free time.

Were the daylight shots at the autoshoo shot at 800iso as well? With cinestill800t? Or did you shoot at a different iso ?

Honestly I didn't care for any of them. The gas station one was kinda cool but they were all way too blue. I kept thinking the whole time how they would have looked so much better on a more traditional film.

I like the blue, there’s a dreamlike quality to the tone. that’s one of the appeals of using a film like this one - a cinematic effect. loved the shot of the house with the green filagree - very beautiful color quality

If i shoot cinestill800 at day@iso400 and develop it normal is it then a push? Can i expect more contrast?
@CameronZamot4 жыл бұрын
bobli9900 if you do that you’re essentially overexposing it. I’ve heard you can get great results shooting it at 500! A push would be to shoot it at 1600 and then develop it for longer, so almost exactly the opposite of what you’re doing
@Bronzoone4 жыл бұрын
@@CameronZamot thank you,i think the thing rate a film and push/pull confused me.
