I worked as a Seasonal worker in Yosemite during college. Lived in a camp in a secluded corner of Curry Village known as 'the Terrace." (which has since been torn down due to rockfall) Best summers ever. So many cool people and adventures, it was like a movie......like a cult of outdoorsy college kids whose only goal was to party and climb rocks. Alot of the 'residents' were just random permanent climbers who slept on the floor of staff cabins.

When I was in college we used to work RenFair in the Fall. On Friday after class we'd load up my mom's old station wagon I was borrowing during RenFaire time. We'd drive to Pleasantville, TX, get to the camp grounds, set up camp, drink beer and sing songs around the campfire. We'd get up early to be at our positions and set up our games in time for the faire to start. After a very long day talking in our Renaissance accents we'd head back to the campground for more of the same. We'd take showers by water hose and not stay up nearly as late Sat night. Sunday we'd get up early enough to pack up camp, head to the fairground for another long day, then after the activities ended we'd begin the 2 hour drive back to campus. We did this for the entire 8 weeks of the RenFaire. We made $100 a weekend. This was from 1992 - 1994 (I didn't do it my Freshman year or my Senior year) these were amazing memories and shaped me in so many ways. The money was cash under the table so didn't affect grants and at the end of the season we got a big $500 bonus. Good times!

The walk to May Lake from White Wolf campground is beautiful! Meadow, woods, and even a backpack trail to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir on the other side. Just don't go down the switchback if it's rainy... There are so many places to go to vary your experiences...Glacier Point to Tanya Lake... So many hikes and walks to take...would take years to see it all. PS I got married in the chapel there, too!

99% of women that SAY they like the country, camping and the outdoors actually hate it and would visit the shopping mall everyday of vacation. But Jeeps and antique shopping in the country is so "cool". The "blackberry" is still my favorite "Amish" pie....

I did the same in my early twenties, just do me a favor and make sure you purchase a firearm and keep it on you 24/7 when you’re out in the woods, two close friends of mine (both beautiful young girls like yourself) went missing in a park like that. lots of people have and there’s folks that have live in these places off grid for decades. Keep your safety front and center

Seasonal worker for one summer in glacier national park. I got paid $8.50 per hour in 2018. Had to pay $200 a month rent for the cabin I shared with another guy. I was a shuttle driver so I drove people from the train station to the lodge and back. I had a schedule and hit all my stops much like a city bus driver. I worked from 4pm-1am daily and had like Tuesday Wednesday off I think. It was a fun summer but not a sustainable life for me personally. I worked for a company called “Xanterra” getting the job was easy af. They will set you up for winter season working as a ski resort and you can just go back and forth year after year like most of the older retired people / young people do.

I thought the same but couldn’t articulate it without sounding like a dick 😅. Seems like we’re in the minority of people who even notice. I can’t imagine waking up there and deciding to make a KZfaq short. The “journaling”, the whimsical stretching and balancing on the tree…so performative it makes me cringe.
