Our loco for the day was 2MT 78022, We started our journey at Haworth then off to Oxenhope , Next stop was Ingrow west where we visted the Carriage Museum then back on the train to Keighley and watched the loco having a water top up there then back on the Train to Oakworth , Oakworth is a beautiful station and has been used in many films the most famous of all " The Railway Children " From there we intended to walk back to Haworth via the Railway Children walk but found out a footbridge crossing a river was closed for repairs so we had to walk back a road way route but on our arrival at Haworth we was not disappointed to see 45596 BAHAMAS run through on its way to London for mainline tours , Lastly the shed at Haworth right near where we stayed which was very handy so could do some spotting after breakfast !

Thank you for sharing Graham. One of my favourites. Reminded me of the happy hours spent there with my daughter who loved the film but that was a long time and universe ago. Excellent. Clive

Great to see some coverage of KWVR. I used to live in a village about a mile from the main station. It was a great area to explore, so much history and industry.

@@GRAHAM1514 as well as the railway, a little further towards Bradford is Salts Mill at Saltaire a town that grew quite literally around the mill. The houses, shops, pubs and all were built by the mill owner which the employees paid rent on their accommodation, and bought their groceries from the shops in the town, owned by the mill owner, and even got nursed better at the doctors surgery, and educated at the school, well educated until they were old enough to work in the mill in any case. Alongside the mill is the Leeds Liverpool canal, with the train line passing also adjacent to the mill. The whole industrial revolution in a small pocket of the world, from canals, Mills, expansion of housing and better living, and the coming of the railways during the boom which earmarked the end of the boatmen and canal life.

@@jcameron2554 Thanks for the information , We visted Saltaire while we was staying in Bronte country ,We was amazed how large the mill was although inside is just a tourist attraction now , We also had a day at Hebden bridge which was nice and walked along the canal there .

A joy to watch, thanks Graham. From your commentary and description it's plain that you were really enjoying this visit to the KWVR in Brontë country, which I think suffers a bit from lack of coverage, making this extra special. Great to see inside the directors' saloon in the carriage museum, which reminded me that I liked the original Railway Children film best and for me that followed the BBC B/W serialised version. Back to the railway, your Keighley departure on the gradient was a great capture with the slippage. Sightings of Bahamas must have come as a real bonus. I'm envious of your visit, but not in a begrudging way, so thanks again for sharing. Kind regards, Bob

Hello Bob nice to hear from you my friend , Agree with what you say there is a lack of coverage in this area ,We intended to visit the Bronte Museum but we arrived too late in the day perhaps next time as we would like to go back there -nice part of the country, I also liked the 1970 Railway Children film best and I still watch it now it is a timeless classic and of couse it helped the then young K & W V R to put it firmly on the map ,The Station Master at Haworth was so nice to me he let me stay as Bahamas was running late and the station was about to close in fact you can just see him at the end of the video on the platform putting things away , Many thanks for your kind Words Bob and I am pleased you enjoyed my film , keep in touch kind Regards Graham
