@@lagomholly Did you know Malcolm Reekie.? He owned the first store as you come into the village from Windermere. I generally stayed with Malcolm and Trish in the last years. Tweedies, which was the name of the pub in the Dales Lodge, was our local. Dale Lodge is now called Tweedies. Village has changed a lot and not for the better. The Red Lion hotel is now the Inn at Grasmere, Williams cafe is a sports bar and the little shopping mall has be turned into one giant anorak shop, of which there are 5 in the village. Bakery is now a cafe, Silver Howe cafe is a creperie. Sad, but the way of the world. Cheers.

Thank you for watching this I’m glad you enjoyed! I know what you mean!😅 But the routes I always take are ones I know really well that I’ve walked with family and friends for years so I feel comfortable knowing where I am geographically (I never go somewhere I don’t know or that others don’t know where I am). But also I just make sure I stick to paths and there’s plenty of people around! Just being vigilant and having phone signal if I ever needed it but like with being anywhere by yourself you just need to be cautious and ensure you’re safe enough with others around and contactable🙂 I hope that helps! I always make sure there’s plenty of other people around when walking alone (which makes it difficult to get footage at times!🤣) so I’m not afraid! It’s nice to enjoy some me time☺️

Was literally about to ask the same thing. I'd love to do this but a bit nervous about being alone if there's a point where no one's around.

I think we just have to discern and not deprive ourselves of certain walks, choose then a group to join. And nice National Trust places too 🙂 I think the world was always a bit dodgy 😅
