Great video. I feel like BTS is redefining all the rules on what it means to be a 'boyband'. Non of the previous paths will predict their own. They and ARMY will invent a new map for their journey.

Choosing to focus on solo is a healthy decision by Bangtan and their label. This allow them to grow as an artist and individuals, they will then come back with worldly-exposure and assimilate it to make much better music. I feel that in Chapter 1 they have yet reached their full peak. There are many rooms to explore and experimenting. They can take this time to better understand what they want, what else they can do as a person, rediscover their passion and meaning of life. Success is good but it come with a lot of shadow and pressure. It must be hard for them. Despite they go for solo projects they are still very much inseparable. Their bond are as strong as family members; brotherhood I would say. Chapter 2 has officially begins. This new path of Bangtan - are boundless and limitless. We never know what to expect as it will allow each members to shine and do whatever they like (without compromising their group imagine/concept). They might surprise us by having acting debuts, joining variety show, walk on a runaway, design games or launch collaboration with brands, venturing in a fashion world, becoming photographers/producers, do extreme sports (their dance practice are intense) etc. I can’t wait to see this side of them. As army I always curious on their individual voice and creative take. Bts made out of seven members so each one of tannies will be supported by army 💜 A reminder, this is a good move armies, for the sake of Bangtan’s longevity they need this break. We can see how it has been stressing them out. They are on their last straw. The signs of burnout are glaring obvious. It took such a toll on their mental health and creativity. They are not a puppet/robot but bunch of genuine artist who want to make a good & honest music. Also, I’m glad they have meet Chris who they can connect with. For now, let’s wait patiently, continue to stream YTC and trust them ✨💪🏻 edit: thank you for the like

I'm happy for them to explore their potential in solo careers, but I'm worried...I see too many so-called Army that focus on just 1 or 2 members. Plus you have idiots like the reporter at the airport who told the other reporter to just focus on the 5, no need to focus on RM and Suga! I may have had a bias but now I'm officially OT7, I hope they get fairly equal attention from army and media.

Some fans are just selfish, they kept asking for mixtapes or collab when they already have a hectic schedule. Those fans think they are robot, not humans.
@vanesalusaria7860
@vanesalusaria7860 2 жыл бұрын
Asking for mixtapes is not selfish especially since the boys themselves have been talking about it since I can remember. Also collabs are common in the music industry. Most if not all Fans did not get pissed when V’s and JK’s mixtape kept on being pushing forward in fact they kept on saying they will wait and save up to buy. This alone shows how the fans are in tune with them. I don’t know how you define selfishness but when it comes to their music BTS has some of the most understanding fans.

This might not have anything yo do with this but, Yoongi's words are so true about loving something and keep it at a distance. I have distance myself from BTS. Not because I don't love them anymore, but I guess is because I have healed enough to live without needing them every second of my life. That of course doesn't mean I wouldn't want to have them every second, but as Pied Piper said, I have other things to focus on, my life, my friends, my family, my work. I love BTS so much I'm afraid I would wrap myself with that love and shut the world outside me and them. I love them so much that I became afraid of losing myself to them. They help me to move on in my life, and the hardest part was to move on from them too. My love, my safe place, my routine, my need, my obsession, my heart, they will always be that one thing that makes me blush, that fills me with joy, happiness, delight and even anger and sadness, impotence of not being able to do more for them, and the world. I'm still trying to find the balance from the love and the hurt I feel sometimes because of how important and the big influence they have on me. I want to be healthy, but more than that I want to love them healthy. So, idk if someone will read this, but it's ok to distance yourself from time to time from BTS, it's ok if life doesn't allow you to be for their comeback, or you have responsibilities that won't allow you to buy their albums and merchandise. As long as you love them and support them within your possibilities and without making that a burden to yourself and life, you are going on the right path, you are an Army to be proud of, and they know it. Love BTS but also live your own life. It's kinda hard ngl 😅 but it's possible. Let's mature with them too. 💜

I wish to be able to do the same. It depends on my own state of mind, if I'm happy and carefree then I have a healthier relationship with them but when things get bad, I start to use it as escapism and it turns into more of an addiction. It isolates me, makes me passive and everything gets worse. It's affecting people close to me as well. If it wasn't BTS, it would be something else. I wanted to grow and become a better person because of them, still do. They are my role models. It's weird but I have a feeling since the beginning that I don't want to disappoint them. But I'm also trying not to beat myself up too much and move forward one step at a time. Btw I also think that Yoongi gives very interesting life advices. One that made me think is "giving up requires courage". It is very important for me because I have never heard it before and it's something I've needed to hear.

I've been in the same position as you a couple years ago. I distanced myself from BTS for about 3 years (during COVID) but I still listen to their music and think about them and see their posts on social media. I just haven't been as invested as I was in the beginning. Yet that doesn't make my love and appreciation for BTS any less than when I first discovered their music and talent. For me, my feelings for them is like how I feel towards my close and precious people. Even though I don't know BTS personally, nor will they ever know my name, the fact is they know fans like myself exist and that is a great comfort. I don't need to see my family and friends everyday, I still need time for myself to grow and mature. But when the times comes for us to meet, I feel that love much stronger than before. That's how I feel towards BTS as a band and as people. And I think that's how these seven men feel about themselves and each other too. They've grown up together but this is also a time for them to mature into the brilliant human beings they've shown us so far. I sincerely look forward to their personal journeys as a person and an artist. I just know that we ARMYs will love and support them no matter what. This type of pure, healthy love (and maybe a bit of obsession too, haha) is so hard to find and I am so lucky to have found it. 💜

As always, BTS not only speaks about issues, they live and resolve them in healthy ways. That is one of the reasons for their greatness because its hard to be at the top and decide to change chapter risking every thing you achieved in the past. Lots of artists loose themselves trying to stay at the top of the wave searching for more fame, more money and more power. Long life to my kings BTS!!! I'll be there when and how they decide to be for us.

I became an ARMY at the end of 2020 so I'm still in the middle of my healing journey. BTS and ARMY have become my happiness and home. Admittedly, I was a bit shaken by the Festa dinner, especially with the boys crying, but went on to Twitter to read the perspectives of veteran ARMYs. It wasn't until the media/haters got wind of things and the narrative turned into "Breaking News: BTS to go on **indefinite** hiatus. Is this the end? Disbandment is looming... yada yada... etc." that what started off as confusion and nervousness turned into sadness and fear and I found myself sobbing for hours. What in the world did I get myself into? This attachment to them was not something I've ever felt before. Needless to say, I'm also going through a personal matter so I was in a very vulnerable state and wasn't able to grasp the situation more clearly. It was cleared up a few hours later by Hybe, then later by JK, and then Joon's letter. Now that the dust has settled, I'm ready to support their solo works. Plus, I have soooo much BTS content to catch up on, and I'm all set to cheer Hobi on at Lollapalooza. I will miss their OT7 music but I trust that they will be back better and stronger. I'm excited to see the new BTS, the mature legends that they are.

Longevity, passion and fashion, look at Duran Duran. 40 Years as a band and still producing. They were separated some years, but they returned strong and in peace with themselves. If we want BTS to have a long and healthy career as a band, let them life a long and healthy live as individuals. Let them have solo releases, let them have a family of their own, let them explore in other areas of entertainment or another careers. Let them be.

Yoongi's words also applies to myself. I have been an ARMY since 2015, and back then, I was incredibly dependent on them, making them as an unhealthy coping mechanism. Ironic is that they've emphasized that they should be used to heal yourself, not to destroy yourself, yet I did the latter. So I distanced myself from BTS. Currently, I am no longer that ARMY who's dependent on BTS, but a fan who has their life altogether with the help of BTS by my side. Even if I struggle with mental issues, BTS's lyricism and them as a person heals me that instead of hardcore fangirling over them, they've become my battery to keep going and smile just like they did before. I love BTS, but not to an extent to be very interested on them. And looking back at it, it brings me joy that I could finally say that I'm healed to be able to leave the magic shop, but I know once I do want to return back when things get worse again, I just know that BTS will welcome me back again.

here's the thing: bts have without stopping been releasing content via music, variety shows, concerts, etc (though they've had breaks in between) since their debut in 2013. we joke about it but the truth is we have been spoiled for years! so hearing that this time they are SLOWING DOWN ot7 activities just a bit to put their individual goals in the forefront. - it was a shock. this was something they were planning on doing early 2020 but covid came around. I am happy they are doing this. This is NOT ONLY for their own mental health but for the sake of BTS. At some point as an artist you will fall into a rut, that tap of creativity will start to drip instead of flow. and in order to get it back you have to change things up.

Thank you for this clear & level-headed take on BTS’s Chapter 2. Many people obviously didn’t watch the Festa 2022 Dinner & listened to the nonsense spread by some media & probably a bunch of antis. In addition, too many people just over-reacted and didn’t listen to what our guys really said. Much love to you Bangtan Kings! I will follow all of you in your solo work with the same dedication I have in will follow your group work!

Honestly I find it ridiculous that people actually believe bts and army are not only gonna weaken, but fall behind. For the past month, due to some mental health issues, I was subconsciously pulling back from the boys, which I later on realized only made everything worse, until the military enlistment news shook me back to my senses. I've been an army for 4 years now, from when I was a dumb highschooler who was told music wasn't a passion worth spending time on, to a full fledged adult following their dreams no matter what the world says. They found me in my darkest moment. My moment of need. I was planning on commiting suicide, only for them to distract me and unknowingly save my life. They have done so much for so many people by simply allowing us to rely on them if needed while asking for nothing in return. I don't know who told these commentators they were right to boost their ego like this but all they're doing with their useless tries to make bts seem insignificant and week is making us ARMYs laugh. When you get to a point when you can tell someone is a good judge of character simply by hearing them say 'im an ARMY', you know you're in the right fandom. So let's show these idiots how much we're willing to do for the boys. Let's show them how powerful we are. Let's grow in number and stature and show them who they're messing with. It's time to do for the boys what they did for us because I don't know about you, but I owe them my life 💜

Great video. I hadn’t considered the influence Coldplay may have had on them. RM did mention seeing artists at The Grammy’s and the profound difference in how those artists were allowed to develop their own style. I hope BTS knocks the K-Pop machine on its ass and starts a revolution for much needed change.

I’m so glad they’re taking this time for themselves. love how u mentioned yoongi’s quote from his gq interview, it describes everything perfectly. The fact they are doing this shows how much they care for themselves, each other, and their art+sincerity. When they fully come back we’ll know more abt their individual colors and we’ll appreciate them even more than we do now. All this upcoming music is gonna be insane, solo work And the eventual group cb

I'm thinking about the frantic pace of music release in K-pop... it must be a significant factor in the oversaturation of the industry, and it must bear a lot of responsibility for the fact that K-pop isn't taken seriously by a pretty decent amount of the Korean population. Of course it must be miserable for the idols, to try and keep up such a pace, too; it makes a little more sense now that the company writes the songs and the idols 'only' sing and perform to it. Makes BTS's output- writing credits, producing credits, singing, rapping, and dancing- even more amazing. I'm also wondering if this slow down and change of pace by BTS might be another step in their rep for 'Paving the Way'. Will it become an accepted thing for idols to space out their music more, or will they still feel the need to keep up the intense pace and wring everything they can out of their contracts? Anyway, kudos to Big Hit for breaking the mold once again and allowing the guys to lower the pace and work on more individual music. As for the possibility of their popularity fading. Like V said, 90% or better of the fandom will likely support them. The advantage BTS have is that they're all extremely good musicians as individuals as well as within the group. We do tend to prefer them best as 7, they bring the teamwork then, but they have all had great success with individual releases and projects before, and there's no reason to think they won't continue to do so. The only concern I have on that is that baby ARMYs and the newly-interested will tend to focus more on the solo stuff and be less interested in the group; we have a certain excess of solo-stans already.

Seeing this video now make me feel weird knowing how much bts had in their mind and holding into ARMY feelings. Exhausting themselves to put the best for the whole music industry just to make that effort on the a cultural, political and national level. Thinking about all sides of the issue with their exhaustion, military service, cultural heritage, supporting their country and traditions and giving a heart to heart talk to ARMY. We're glad that we are in an era where BTS exists

I don't listen to too many 'talking heads' on the subject matter. I rely on official updates before jumping to conclusions. However, this video seems logical and lines up with what members of the group projected after the Festa dinner that was widely misunderstood by many during the dinner. I would hope ARMYS have learned a great lesson in gaining the proper understanding in cases like this, all the while realizing how what we think means the world to BTS. That will never change. BTS has gained so many more followers since their U.S. tours and the Grammys this year that it would be a shame for them to be under this type of 'falsehood' regarding their decision on solo projects they're embarking on. One of the fears BTS faces the most is losing their ARMY. Yes, they know where we stand, yet they still have that fear. Let's go beyond supporting them by being less reactive and more proactive. Borahae! 💜

Edit as the solo projects roll out the solos projects are doing very well so I will continue to say Bts only competition is Bts. 💜

I love BTS, but I didn't know how much, this week has been very hard for me, crying 😭 and a constant pressure in my chest💔, I know I will feel better with time. I'm 58 years old professional working and busy woman, I became an ARMY beginning the pandemic and this 7 boys have became part of my every day 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜, no matter how hard were my days they made them easy. Before I didn't care much for music or dancing (mostly studying and working), but with BTS frequently I have found myself moving my body on dancing and singing 🎶💜🎵. BTS has been this last 2 years the reason of a smile in my face and in my heart💜. I love them dearly like my children 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜. They deserve have a more normal life, personal individual decisions, family, children, friends, and etc. I dream to see them with their couples and children 😍. One of my biggest pain💔 is that I was not able to go to one of their concerts😭, I don't know if it will be possible for them to perform music as a group, I wish they will, and in the mean time I would support them individuality, even though I'm not Charlie Puth fan I already started, pre-order buying the CD "Left and right" were our Jungkook is featuring, I wish I could go to Chicago to see our J-Hope, but for sure I will buy his album, I can't wait 🤩. I will love BTS for ever, wish the best for my 7 boys 🎵💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🎶

I'm probably older than all of you and have been hurting but as most suspect it's due to being selfish - just didn't want to say goodbye to all of the access to dance practice, media appearances (still have Grammys/Video Music Awards plus crosswalk mini concert saved via DVR), and the prospect of future BTS concerts. I'm thinking I became addictive to everything BTS but most especially for their endless optimism and bottomless capacity for goodness. They made a huge difference in making me so much more a positive person. But don't know if I can continue on that pathway without a BTS fix. Must learn to generate all of this on my own because it's not fair nor possible to rely on these 7 wonderful guys.

Great video, super informative and insightful :) I wanted to add an Asian example to the list of "long-running" bands mentioned - the japanese Metal band The GazettE. They have been playing together for 20 years and bring out an album ever 2-3 years, followed by extensive touring, then they take a break for a few months and start on the next one. THAT sounds like a healthy pace, and I hope BTS will eventually aim for something like that. I personally would be happy with an album every 2 years or so and content more spaced out.

Imo BTS could’ve used this moment, when they are sitting on top as a group and simply pushed out more simple English songs like dynamite & butter(not saying there’s anything wrong with those types but they are def simple in terms of lyrics and more standard “boy band” type songs) but instead they choose to follow their hearts, focus on what they need as individuals and as a group and step away a bit as a whole. It just shows that their main focus is making music that means something to them and to the ARMY rather than just satisfying the masses. I admire them so much for their honesty. And I do believe they will instead flood us with seven amazing albums….at the end of the day true army want the boys to be happy, right? I know i do💜💜💜

💜💜While looking for older content I happened upon your analysis of the BTS chapter 2. It was well thought out, and you made many good points...especially considering what has happened since Festa 2022. RM spoke in his "live" about the guys getting together to talk about their solo endeavors as well as starting to think about what chapter 3 would look like. There's so many positive things that have happened since they have been untethered from the ridiculous system of releasing group albums yearly. 😃💜 Thanks again for your thoughtful and thorough analysis.

Yes, this was or is a super video. Thank you so much for the very positive outlook for BTS and their solo projects. I am an older fan but thank the good Lord I found this group. Now I get to experience their individual talents. Old people like that individual thing--like Elvis and Tony Bennet, etc. Thank you again! 😍👍. Ps: I like their group stuff, too!

Amazing video! This is so true. I love that they're choosing to focus on themselves and explore who they are to the fullest extent because that's the only way they can truly grow. To be an artist at the very peak of your career and just doing the bare min to maintain status quo = stagnation, and that's when fans start dropping off. To take this break, to TRULY take this break, they can go within and really see who they are and play/experiment/explore in order to rediscover their passion. This is such an incredible and mature move on their part and I'm SO SO SO SO grateful they're choosing to create solo works. This is the mark of a REAL artist because you know you can only grow so much as a group; now is the time for them to really spread their wings. For all those "armies" who say we shouldn't support individual projects because that means they won't get back together - that just means they don't really understand who BTS are. I trust BTS and what they say FULLY. They say they need this break and will come back stronger than ever. I believe them. They will. And we, as armies, need to support each of their solo works like BTS comebacks. Even the members have asked us to support each of them individually, so those "armies" saying we shouldn't are already going against what other members are saying. Please don't do that to the boys. I also want to study Korean hardcore because relying solely on the simplified subtitles is so frustrating. I know they're expressing everything more fully in Korean and yet the nuances aren't even caught in subtitles. Thank you for your awesome video. 🙏

This really helps everyone (especially me) understand and put things into perspective. We just got so spoiled by access, by volume, and yes, by kindness and generosity. That's what makes it so difficult to withdraw...to adjust the new numbers which means less frequency for the release of music, access to candid material (I'm missing their pets!) and all the wonderful extra everything that BTS gave to us. But it must happen. I wish the enlistment/military stuff was behind us, though. That compounds everything - that this will be stretched out beginning this year with Jin. I sort of wish that some of this time away could be spent on fulfilling a portion of that obligation or that several of them were enlisting together at the same time but opportunity is knocking right here, right now.

You are amazing! You explained what i was thinking in an easy way! I really loove your videos that show real love to bts and Army. I don't know how i didn't meet you before. With this festa dinner, what hurt me was that the boys were suffering. I just want them to be happy and do the things they like. I really hope that they know that they are in a position where they have more "freedom" to make music, we armys are going to wait for them no matter how much time had passed. Lots of love from Mexico

really a positive and heartwarming video essay. thoughtful, encompassing. thank you. I, (as a year old Army), appreciated your guidance to look at the backlog of content. I seriously have been doing this for the year since they "landed in my heart." & of course, i have barely scratched the surface of reliable information. I give great kudos to older Army who have diligently worked to provide content, and translations. You have definitely made this journey into the world of BTS so much easier. Thank you. Borahae! & the message they are giving Army now (& all who care to listen), is this is one way to "love yourself;" knowing when it is Time for a change. All good things & happiness to them.

Somehow, there is beauty in us crying with them, crying together with them. I admire our boys for their capability to hold difficult conversations with each other. They must have been having these serious convos for months already before this festa. What is most admirable is that they trust us to join in these serious and difficult conversations. This shows how they are holding us to a higher standard of maturity and understanding about them making these healthy emotional choices for their individual growth. This also shows that they value us and commit to us that they will be reunited and will make the most smashing comeback KPop will ever witness in our lifetime. Let us all hold on to that hope with them. Let's link our arms together with them and for them as we all embark on this new chapter of their career journey. And, siempre, as they focus on their growth, let us also do the same. Let this era be a time for all of us, fans, to grow and flourish and be a much better ARMY! #apobangpo !
