Very informative video on Azaleic Acid and loved that you gave recommendations!! My dermatologist recommended I take this for hyperpigmentation but prescribed me azelex which was not covered by my insurance and out of pocket is $1200!! I think I’ll go with your last recommendation as it tackles every area of concern. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video! I've been really interested in azelaic acid for my acne and post-acne scars, so this was a wonderful and comprehensive video. I like the ingredients of the Tula gel, but they don't list the percentage of azelaic acid since it's "proprietary." I'll probably buy the Paula's Choice one since I know it has 10%, with salicylic acid too. Off to shopping I go 😁

If you have any pitting from acne scars, Azelaic acid doesn't go deep enough to help. Only procedures in the derms office will help. I've been through this with my daughter's acne scaring. Please save your money for a few treatments. Good luck.

Well done, good information! Wish OTC stronger strengths available state side. I have been using The Ordinary 10% Suspension with good results but thinking about trying Naturium next as I use several products from the line and have had great results. I would appreciate a deeper dive into Glycolic Acid uses, benefits, products. Currently I use Naturium 10% gel for my aging skin with amazing results.

Could you use the Paula's choice azaleic acid in the morning even though it has salicylic acid in it? Would it go before or after vitamin c serum? Love your content🥰
@xeverlore
@xeverlore 2 ай бұрын
You can use the PC azelaic acid in the morning, just make sure to follow up with a good sunscreen after. The SA is at a .5% concentration which is primarily to help with penetration as opposed to actually providing meaningful exfoliation (this is per their product experts as I had the same questions). I would suggest using it after vitamin c serum since it is a thicker texture, like a light moisturizer. I would quickly double check if there are any contradictions between vitamin c, azelaic acid and SA, but truthfully I’ve actually seen products formulated with either one or all of these ingredients PLUS azelaic acid is compatible to layer with many ingredients as opposed to other acids. It would moreso be if you can tolerate it. When in doubt message PC customer service or book a free consultation with them, they are extremely helpful.

I feel like your Inkey List AA is different from my Inkey List AA lol. I'm actively trying to use it up and find something else because it stings horrendously if I'm not careful about how I layer it in my routine, it's not hydrating, and the color is 100% gray like depicted in the video, not even remotely green.

Thanks for sharing these products. What do you think of the ordinary Azelaic acid ? I’ve been using it and wanted to compare to the ones you mentioned
@whatnext715
@whatnext715 8 ай бұрын
I’m curious too. I’ve been using the ordinary’s Azelaic acid for about 2 years, just a dab 1x/day. I’m in my 50s, have slightly dry skin and have experienced redness and sensitivity most of my adult life. I used it for quite a while before I noticed any changes but 2 years later I feel like my base line sensitivity is less and don’t experience redness as often. I’ve been able to tolerate ascorbic acid 5x/wk for the first time. My skin is definitely brighter either due to the Azaleic acid or the increase in other actives I’m able to tolerate. It’s not an elegant texture, but I add a dab to whatever moisturizer I’m using before my sunscreen and I’ve never had a problem with pilling. I’ve wondered if it would be worth paying more for another Azaleic acid product or to continue using the ordinary and concentrate on retinoids and ascorbic acid as much as I can tolerate without increasing my sensitivity.

@@whatnext715 I totally agree with you on the texture isn’t the best but it’s been working for me as well with little dabs around my face. Now I wanted to try a better texture, slightly more hydrating so the inkey list and naturium looked interesting to me! I’ve been using the ordinary one around 2-3 years as well.

@@dr.jennyliu that’s exactly what I would like! More hydration as we are moving into the colder months. I will try the inkey or naturium which also looks interesting with the Nicinamide
@whatnext715
@whatnext715 8 ай бұрын
@@Duxbury_Skin they both do look interesting. Since I mix mine into whatever moisturizer is working for me (lighter in summer, heavier in cold weather), the hydration hasn’t been a problem. But I do wonder if applying it mixed like that, rather than dabbing directly on skin and putting moisturizer on top lessens it’s efficacy.

I use Peach Slices AA serum. It did burn quite a bit when I started but got used to it and it eventually stopped. I had to take about 3 weeks off due to laser treatments and it definitely burned a ton starting back up. I have to be careful with using a teeny amount but it works after you get past the burning phase.
