6:58 dial indicator magnetized to the gearbox, with a segmented arm, and a plexy shield at the end. Easy build, especially if you use cheapies. Perfect for such situations, where chips will want to seek out your eyes like heat seeking missiles.

As someone who doesn't work with a lathe, sanding or polishing on it looks terrifying. I feel like the lathe isn't going to ask at all.

He makes it terrifying, the way he holds the scotchbrite and cloth and also how he reaches across to the back, he is asking to get his hand twisted into the chuck, this is not how smart machinists do it.

When plunging that wide you should leave a little finger just narrower than the insert between dives and then go back turning all the fingers away. That will even wear on the insert and prolong usage.

Sick at home with a migraine seeing an Adam vid: Cool anecdotes and structural engineering talk and a continuation of his Grand K build? Sure i'm in! *clicks* realise its 23 minutes of metal scraping against metal. Maybe when i have less of a headache i'll return and give it a watch. but not right now. Hope everyone else enjoys it though. (note, i know this message will seem sarcastic or nasty for reasons of a lack of non-verbal indicators in scripted text. Im mainly leaving a post in an attempt to offset the damage im about to do to your algorithm by leaving your video unfinished, in hopes that the direct engagement of the comment outweighs, or at least reduces, the impact of leaving the video unfinished.)

@@HoveringHog Calling it "premium" membership might be a bit of an overstatement if all you're getting for your two dollars above and beyond what everyone else gets for free is content like this. If I signed up for something branded as "Premium Membership" and all it afforded me was access to this kind of content, I have to be honest, I'd be disappointed. I'm glad I was warned that this is what awaits premium members. I think I'll give it a miss, thanks. Adam doesn't need my two dollars, that much is clear.
