When i saw the section labled "Retro Issue" i thought you were going to talk about the issues with people making mega man sprites but instead of it being mega man based, they just copy mega mans sprite 💀

I will defend 8 till my last breath, it has some of the most varied level design in the franchise (even if some levels are iffy, tho the board sections aren't that bad tbh), and the bosses are really fun, if you're going buster only, just like 7 sadly

i was used to think quint was a megaman killer,but i learned he isn't later on , i was used to be a 8 hater,but i got converted and i actually like the game despite struggling too much with the slide jump sections... 10 is fine but 9 is 💀(someday i'll be able to play those titles) , also i feel like if Megaman had killed wily on 7 , X would never exist or he would,but on a entire different universe idk...but the fact is...Quint's existance makes the peaceful future impossible. I really enjoyed the video. I'll share my opinion on all of these in this comment. The first one is just factually wrong, Quint is not a mega man killer. Mega Man 8 is a decent game in my opinion. It has really good weapons and amazing bosses. The stages aren't that well designed in some parts, but the game is still quite decent overall. People who say the voice acting is bad, well, why watch the cutscenes? Just skip them, noone is forcing you to watch them. You do have to hear some voice acting during gameplay, mega man does sometimes make a sound when jumping or firing a charge shot, but that's barely even noticable during gameplay. What is noticable is how the robot masters constantly make sounds when using an attack or even getting hit. It is a little annoying, but it really doesn't ruin the game. Mega man 9 and 10 being retro... How is that a bad thing at all? Seriously, people who think that 9 and 10 are bad for "going back" have barely any idea what a mega man game is supposed to be. "X isn't the first robot to have full free will". Again, this is factually wrong. The bare minimum required to program a robot master is for them to follow the 3 laws of robotics. The case in mega man 7 can be explained by translators doing a bad job. Bass rebelling against Wily or proto man escaping before his core was changed does not break any laws of robotics.

I don't get how any of those are controversies, those are just what people discuss sometimes. Neat video either way. I like Mega Man 8, but it's definitely not my favorite due to some sections just being rather uninteresting for me. I have nothing to say about Quint as it's likely just not canon, but I like him anyway, it's a pretty interesting way to explain why Mega Man might not be around forever in-universe.

Here are my takes on these: Quint is a Mega Man Killer: Sure. I recognize that he wasn’t exactly made the same way as the real ones (and he didn’t return with them in MM10’s DLC), but I often lump him together with them just because 💀 Mega Man 8 is bad: No, it’s actually pretty decent. Though I do agree that the voice acting is pretty goofy at times and the level design choices could’ve used some work (I’m still stuck on Wily Stage 1 after a few years lol) Mega Man 9 and 10 going retro was bad: this one I’m actually kind of mixed on. While it is kinda cool that they made it look retro for nostalgia’s sake, I’m not the biggest fan of two things in 9: reusing the stage select and weapon get themes from 2 seems a bit lazy, and yes, the locking of the slide and charge shot behind Proto Man DLC is pretty annoying. X wasn’t the first to think: Yeah, he might’ve been advertised as the first, but it’s really not unique to him. Pretty much everyone before him was like that too. Mega Man’s breaking point in 7 is a great example of that, even if the English version unnecessarily upped his edginess.

Glad to see someone else thinks it's weird that X is said to be the first robot capable of human-like thought, when everyone in the classic series is literally just that as well.

Appropriate retro can stimulate players' nostalgic emotions, but abuse will make players bored, so MM10 failed to replicate the success of MM9.

X really is the first. He's technically not even a robot but an android which is why everything else is called a "reploid" which is just replica and android shortened into one word. Classic series robot masters have pre-programmed personalities. They act as they were set to. They have no free will. Most importantly, they still have to follow the three laws of robotics. X has free will and a wholly original personality created by himself through his life experiences. He is more alive than any robot master. The entire point he was sealed away and under constant testing was that him having free will was potentially dangerous if his logic circuits were to fail because he doesn't need to follow the three laws of robotics at all. X passed his 60-year logic testing period. Dr. Cain messed up and decided to mass produce without putting any of them under the same amount of testing. That's why mavericks became a thing in the first place. Their logic circuits were faulty and so became a danger to both humans and other normal reploids. It's only later on in the X series where the term maverick has any connotation related to being infected by a virus.
