Some friendships transcend lifetimes. In A Dog’s Journey, the sequel to the heartwarming global hit A Dog’s Purpose, beloved dog Bailey finds his new destiny and forms an unbreakable bond that will lead him, and the people he loves, to places they never imagined.
Bailey (voiced again by Josh Gad) is living the good life on the Michigan farm of his “boy,” Ethan (Dennis Quaid) and Ethan’s wife Hannah (Marg Helgenberger). He even has a new playmate: Ethan and Hannah’s baby granddaughter, CJ. The problem is that CJ’s mom, Gloria (Betty Gilpin), decides to take CJ away. As Bailey’s soul prepares to leave this life for a new one, he makes a promise to Ethan to find CJ and protect her at any cost.
Thus begins Bailey’s adventure through multiple lives filled with love, friendship and devotion as he, CJ (Kathryn Prescott), and CJ’s best friend Trent (Henry Lau) experience joy and heartbreak, music and laughter, and few really good belly rubs.
Directed by Emmy winner Gail Mancuso (TV’s Modern Family), A Dog’s Journey is produced by Gavin Polone (A Dog’s Purpose), and written by W. Bruce Cameron & Cathryn Michon, and Maya Forbes & Wally Wolodarsky, based on the best-selling novel by Cameron. The film, from Amblin Entertainment and Reliance Entertainment, in association with Walden Media and Alibaba Pictures, will be distributed by Universal Pictures domestically, and by Universal Pictures and Amblin Partners internationally.

“When you come back, take care of Cj. She needs you like I needed you.” That sentence honestly makes me cry every time, it’s so moving, and when you see Cj with Molly/Bailey under her blanket in her bedroom it’s emotional because in the first movie, that’s exactly what Ethan did with Bailey. I like to think that our pets come back to us when they leave. Just like the song by Phillip Phillips. “I love you long after you’re gone, gone, gone...” ❤️

My pet did my black and white smooth coated fox terrier came back to me was telling a friend they were excited telling omg ange watch this movie and blew me away im like oohh my that happened to me was shocked. His love was so deep for me his here now a 3 month old puppy cute as asleep on my bed but its him reincarnated back, so can tell you this movie is true😍

I 've watched this movie more than 10 times on TV. Also I have watched this movie many times on You tube. It's really a sad movie and its very beautiful. I cried every time I watched that movie. Also I cried a lot during the last part of the movie. But I was glad to finally see him live in a good place. This movie proved that animals understand emotions better than humans. No matter how many times I watched this,I did not get bored. It's such a beautiful movie. ❤️

When I watch movie and the misses usually like heart felt films, I don’t get teary easily on films. But this film broke my heart many many times! It reminded me of my dog Rosie. Who passed away many years ago. She died of cancer. Anyways this is my favourite dog film ever! I’ve seen a lot of dog like film but this one hits the heart!

My fur baby Remedy just passed away on April 3rd of this year.. I had her 11 great years and when she made her journey over the rainbow bridge I haven't known what to do with myself, I've cried everyday. She was my best friend, but even through the tears watching this movie made me feel so much better. I hope she's out there making someone else's life as amazing as she did mine! not always but maybe i remember crying watching the trailer for 2015 movie Max(another dog movie) and saw the movie at home when was out on on demand. it wasn't that sad was a really good cute dog adventure. i only teared up a little like maybe 2 times watching that movie. but oh and take a look at trailer for marley and me ok that so misleading right thought be this cute funny dog fam film it was only slightly funny cute but heartbreaking it took me almost 2 years to give a dog's purpose movie a chance and i loved it. trailers can be so misleading.i read the book for this one it was good but had me bawling so hoping this will be bit watered down from book. and good idea stay away from book or read it after see this movie

I’ve read both a dog’s purpose and a dog’s journey. A Dog’s Purpose was a bit different in the book rather than the movie. Some different events occurred throughout but it was great. Based on the trailer so far, this movie seems a bit more connected to the book than the last one. Trust me this movie is gonna be worth seeing

I'm here for both lol. I'm originally here for the movie since I loved the first one, when I found out that Henry Lau is in it, I got even more excited. Henry Lau btw is a Chinese-Canadian actor, musician and singer/artist. He currently is a solo artist, about a year ago though he had been a part of a popular South Korean boy group, known as Super Junior. He also speaks five languages (English, Cantonese, Mandarin, French, Korean). oh, and did I mention that he's also really cute? ;)

I’m a grown man, 31. I’ve always loved loved my dogs. I cried the entire movie. Cancer is in my family also and it just hit me so hard. I hugged my dogs so tight throughout the movie.

I watched A Dogs Purpose 3 years ago and I just watched A Dogs Journey today. I knew that Ethan was familiar, I was "he got a role again with a dog?" then the dog's name was Bailey, and me thinking I feel like i've heard that name before. Then I saw the farm and the reincarnation thingy feeling like they were similar to a movie i've watched before. But what really hit me is that the trick they (Ethan and Bailey) used to do, they showed it right at the ending. I finally realized that this was really the continue story of A dogs purpose. This was really cute and wholesome

Easily one of the best movies I have ever seen, highly recommend. I am a teenager who has the dog and who had the dog, I cried at the end not only because of a story, because I remembered how I was happy with my dog that passed away and how that day was probably one of the hardest in my life.

I really love this movie, Ethan and Bailey where such a good partners. This move is the 2nd part of Baileys new journey that Ethan told him to Protect CJ. This was the continuation of Baileys journey until the end. For those people who wants to watch this you might wanna watch A Dog's Purpose so you can understand this part.

Our 6 year old Aussie was just diagnosed with lymphoma and I'm trying to set myself with the reality of everything. He is my soul mate. This trailer made me cry so hard. I know dogs come to us with a purpose, and ours certainly chose us. That was evident from the first moment we met. I really do hope they come back to us, maybe in the form of other dogs who can be with us when we need them. Maybe this movie will help with my grief. In the time we have left, I'm just going to love him and be with him as much as I can.
