Geese repeating the mistakes of his father is actually the point of his character. His pursuit for absolute power in order to get back at his father and his half-brother Wolfgang Krauser corrupted him where he's no longer a good man. In his pursuit for power, he ended up killing his former friend, abandoned his wife and son, and proceeded to let himself fall to his death out of pride when the son of said former friend tried to save him. It pretty much paints Geese's character in a pretty tragic light. Geese's love for his mother and hatred for his father led to a darker path and that is why Terry raised Rock right after his business with Geese is done. Much like how Geese hates his father for abandoning him and his mother, Rock hates Geese for the exact same thing and Terry knows that. Ultimately, Terry wants to make sure Rock does not repeat the cycle that was started by his grandfather. Terry knows that though Geese is dead, Rock still has feelings of wanting revenge against his father but never really has the chance to do so. Hence leading to Terry doing all that he can to raise Rock right.

Oda wanted Fatal Fury to come back for the longest time. Which made me even more excited. If SNK puts as much passion into their new Fatal Fury game as they have with their older games or at least KOF14 with plenty of story and single player content. Then I think it would be an excellent title.

The daughter of Krauser is a good design. Unwittingly, you've gave her a colour scheme representing the masculine feminine themes. Masculinity is represented by the sun which is gold while femininity is represented by the moon which is silver. While in some cultures the colour representation is flipped, this is just a nice nod to that opposite seeing as Krauser has golden armour while you gave his daughter silver armour.

I do think a cool idea would be to take the blank jacket Joe had in the COTW promo art and make it have sponsors and badges like he was a multi time muai thai champion, and as for personality, making him similar to Rex in Xenoblade 3 where hes still got some of his old self in him but more mature, not just a jokester. The idea of having a similar change like what happened to Ken in SF6 where his personality changes completely crossed my mind too but I think with a char like Joe, a less drastic change suits him better

i really like the jins' designs; maybe chonrei could have a slightly more tung fu rue inspired outfit with the pattern used for tung's jacket in kof xiv implemented in some way. i would say it'd be kinda cool if he had one of those kung fu jackets draped around his waist (like geese), but i guess gato already has a similar thing going on in his win pose. really cool designs all around, i think the reuse of falcoon's maximum impact design for mai is genius.

Pretty big fan of most of this. Grounding the theme in mid-2000 crunchy teenage angst plays very well with Rock, and clashes harshly with the old-schoolers, which would make for some fun dynamics. Loving most of the redesigns but I hope they go a bit harder on Mai. I’d like to see her wear a big kimono and her hair in more of a bun, similar to Setsuka from Soul Calibur. Lean a bit away from the female ninja into more of a deadly dame. If fans don’t like it, there’s always alternative costumes and KoF. Similarly, I think it would be cool if she was a bit colder and harsher to the new characters, but still upbeat and cheerful around her old friends. Add some layers to her, Y’know. Visually, we know what the game looks like now, but I just want to say that I feel the same way about KoF14. It feels closer to KoF of old, but they didn’t have the time, tech or talent to get it out in full. Maybe next time. And finally, I want SNK to have a big break, but I don’t want them to over-invest. They’re not the biggest company and I would hate adding another bankruptcy to their story. Build small and slow but consistent. That said, I think SNK needs to build a game for someone else. Arc Sys didn’t explode entirely thanks to Strive, they did thanks to Dragon Ball FighterZ. In order for SNK to hit the mainstream, I think they need something similar. A big IP done justice in a way only SNK can. Maybe that’s CvS3, maybe it’s something else entirely. Star Wars Shamsho, I dunno. Good watch regardless, very entertaining. Have a good one.

You know, I've been thinking on the neat possibility of king's return if she actually got with ryo, what if she became mrs karate alongside him and got a mix of the kyukogen and bartender look and her own mask. This sounds a little fanfiction-y when I type it all out 😅, but I still think it would look really badass. I really like your concept for this game overall, the 2000's rock esthetic is a neat way to stand out from street fighter and fitting for our main character. Im not sure what city of the wolves will do, but even doing a small bit of what you're suggesting soinds pretty cool.

13:37 I think an English Dub would make sense for Fatal Fury by a lot I’ve already have thought of a good choice for Rock’s English VA would be Johnny Young Bosch, he sounds very similar to Yuma Uchida’s voice on Rock especially when they yell so I think he’s would make great ENG dub for Rock. I haven’t really come up with who would be great VA choice for the other characters, it would be great if some could share who they think fits to voice a specific Fatal Fury character.

Kind of a pipe dream, but I want an arcade mode with branching paths. You can choose different opponents/locations (sort of like 3rd Strike) and mini games (like the first AoF). Your choice of opponent and how you perform overall will impact your ending. I mean, I was willing to play custom teams in KoF XV just to unlock all the special endings, so branching paths would add a ton of replay value for me. Still, I doubt SNK will dedicate themselves to making multiple endings per character. Eh.

"Daughter of Stroheim" is pulled right outta my brain, she was a character I called "Schorr Schwinhott" - my OCs were amalgamations of KoF characters and MegaMan Robot Masters, and the Fire/Flame motif really resonated with the Krauser backdrop; and yeah, balancing the sausagefest (I made diversity/inclusion a focal point of my designs). But just... WOW. I went with the silver tone in the hair instead of the purple to make it a *little* less obvious and put the purple in the bustier instead, but there she is! 36:40 Also, three characters in the roster I'm surprised to not see in your lineup, and I DO hope to see in the final game: THE SOUTH AMERICA TEAM FROM KOF XIV!! Don't forget, Bandieras formed some kind of thing with Andy and Mai, and Nelson was supposedly the one who "clipped the wings of the eagle" which turned Tizoc into King of Dinosaurs; and why would the two of them show up *without* Zamira, who herself is arguably the funnest of the three to play/control? I know that KoF and FF have "separate continuities," but in the event they *didn't,* I'd place this in the South Town Timeline between XIII and XV (especially since Garou team's appearance in the older KoFs was mainly in '03-XI).

Hey John! Stumbled upon your video, and a good one! Here my thoughts: Excited for FIRST, of course, Gameplay. I'd love to see shades of past Fatal Fury titles on the gameplay of this one. It's the first Fatal Fury since forever, so I want the feel of playing Fatal Fury, not KOF. SECOND, the newer versions of some characters. I'm excited to see how SNK will bring back Andy, Joe, Mai, and how their versions are going to be... hopefully newer and flashier moves and specials. And THIRD sure is the story. My biggest concern and gripe with SNK is that they have done a PRETTY POOR job on the supporting cast for Fatal Fury. If on one hand Terry is an icon, on the other end, Andy and Joe have seen no development whatsoever. Even though they are not the main characters (being Terry), they are legends enough to see some care and progress in their stories. Seeing Andy and Joe all these years in KOF is heartbreaking. They literally recycled their moves and specials from XIV to XV.... I understand those are KOFs, so certain characters will always come in front and be entitled to more attention, but at least do something. Terry always gets his, and rightfully so, he is an icon. Mai also, but... unfortunately we know what the main source of her popularity is (but nothing against Mai getting development at all, as it is important feminine characters being well established and directed). Andy and Joe, though, are sh*t on. They built KOF's fanbase because of Terry, Andy and Joe (and the AOF characters) to just treat the latter 2 like "trash" later in the series. I want Shadow Andy back, or a more proeminent role for him in the story. A strong development for his relationship with not only Mai, but the Shiranuis... I want a fresher take on Joe too, know more about his motives, his goals for life, instead of women or being the Bogards friend. Pocket Bravery, for God's sake, gave A LESSON on how to make a story mode so immersive and cool, involving all charactes in the plot, and while establishing the main character, not minimizing the others. Sorry for the RANT in the end, but I needed to. Thanks for the space and patience 👍🏼

Art of fighting 2 & 3 minor characters comeback in New Fatal Fury City of the wolves

With Street Fighter going full street art/hip hop (along with the Isla inspired part of the KOF XV art direction) it would be cool if Garou took a rock aesthetic for sure. Not sure if I’d go with 2000’s butt rock because as soon as I see Garou Terry I think of 80’s heavy metal, kind of the Johnny Lawrence vibe in Cobra Kai. But I never imagine “Shadow the Hedgehog” would actually be that effective to describe it.

I'm all for King and Mr. Karate II to come back into the game! Even though, japanese developers involved... I suspect they would not be confortable to include a female character passed their 30's. I'd love to see what Robert and Yuri are up to in this timeline. PS: The most probable Art of Fighting character to be included into this game is Ryo.

I just hope half of the budget that they probably had to cut from KOF XV to make this game a reality was well spended and that the cut guys from that image of the cancelled Garou 2 don't end in the Neo Geo Limbo

Honestly if this game gets a world tour styled mode I hope they do something that soul calibur did....that being allowing you to make your charecters playable Although I feel they shouldn't be available in any genuine ranked and competitive modes...legitimately though I'd love that sorta thing in more games

I may be on a tiny minority here, but I really like when the story mode and the arcade ladder are kept as two things. Don’t get me wrong but if I am seating to play a fighting game I really do not care about hubworlds or Exploration unless I have the time and attention span to sit and fully pay attention to it. Not a fighting game, but that’s the main reason why Sonic Adventure 2 was better than SA1. The hubworlds are a valid lore resource but if the levels are that scattered away from each other, they feel like a chore. Honestly story mode is not and should never be a true substitute to arcade ladders, or at least make them a challenge mode like MK did.

About what characters I want to see in Fatal Fury COTW, I would like to see some KOF Maximum Impact characters. When I played those games, I always thought that those were part of the Fatal Fury timeline instead of another one. The first KOFMI gave me the idea that its events took place after Real Bout 1 and before Garou MOTW Just recently SNK confirmed that Xiao Lon is canon in the KOF main timeline. My idea is to reintroduce the MI characters to fit in the Fatal Fury/Garou timeline. Some characters will need more work than others. I just want to see Chae Lim (I swear, of all Kim's disciples, she is the only one who feels like Kim's successor), the Meira brothers and especially Lien Neville again after so many years. I like Lien's role in the second episode of the KOF Another Day anime mini series (best episode!) and I want to see more of her with Rock. Lien could be an awesome antiheroine or villain, we need more 'not friendly' female characters in Fatal Fury.

I think the boss will be Krauser, nightmare Geese, Mr.karate, and Laurence.

Maybe bring back Art of fighting characters series including Mr.Big, and Eiji. Kof series bring Kyo, Iori from Real bout special nettou, and Chizuru and Maki. Bring Ikari warriors and psycho soldiers, regular Geese howard, Krauser, Tung, Axel, Laurence, Cheng, and Jubei back. And also bring Aof 3 minor characters.

You should've brought back other Fatal Fury veterans like Franco Bash, Hon-Fu, Solkaku, ect. And for new character if you couldn't bring back Franco then his son Junior, Kim's desiple Alice Cristler, maybe bring in Lee Mae from KOF, bring in Mr. Big since he'd still alive, bring in Kasumi, ect

KOF15 was made under covid conditions, strict budget(despite having more money than before but, probably not enough to push it further), covid, and prioritizing online and game play during the covid schedule. Which is why the single player content sucked. KOF14 had more content and more passion behind it.

from start to finish of creating this video did you forget about wild ambition??? a few examples being: the 2 only new never to be seen again characters, 1 them being not only a female grappler but the solely shoot wrestler girl in fatal fury the returning cast having certain attacks in their move set which were mostly exclusive to that entry mr. karate II's a.k.a ryo sakazaki moves in that entry were the most exotic out of all his iterations, a couple examples being he can also shoot the hao shoko ken projectile super in midair & has a special counter that if successful implants explosive chi energy into an opponent which detonation can be delay by holding the button

Replace Luke (Fuck that guy!) with Akuma, so we can have Shotoken Karate vs Kyokugen-ryu Karate done right to see which truly is the best. Ryo as Mr. Karate II would be a blend of all iterations of his fighting styles from various games mixed with Takuma/Mr. Karate.

If Geese don't come back alive, I'm gonna be disappointed.
