Blue basil is spectacular..had a momma blue Jay screaming at me this morning lol...she built her nest in my tree by my front door. I gave her a little bread. They cut down a tree that had little berries I think was her food source and the squirrels. They've been raising cane lol no pun intended *giggles*. I don't need to get them depending on me for food especially since I may move from here but they seem very upset that the tree isn't there. Kinda sad I think it was a healthy tree but this isn't my property I have no say in the decisions and maybe there was some reason for safety I don't know but I noticed a skeleton so I think that's what the squirrel is screaming about. People have no idea that animals have a life that means as much to them as ours does to us. Be careful with the peppers you grow some hot ones. 🌶

Nice ! Now have 3 pineapple guava varieties, so hoping they may cross-pollinate here in Phx...may need to hand pollinate...either way no loss; the tasty colorful flowers are to die for :) Love the soothing background music !! A perfect match :)

I envy your kaffir lime tree. I have one in a pot that I have over wintered for 5yrs and no blooms have been produced. I think it’s the AR weather just not friendly to lime tree. But I got tons of the leaves for my cooking. Your videos are so beautiful just like you.

Hi Kaye! I am a new subscriber and I am so in love with your channel! I have been binge watching all your videos from beginning to end and I just want to say how much u inspire me to start my own food garden. But I have to say I first started with a snake plant which is suppose to be an "un-killable" plant and mine just died yesterday and I am having some hesitation to start again. I think I will eventually, and hopefully it will work out well :) I live in Bali, Indonesia and I am researching fruit plants that might be suitable for this island's weather :) Sorry for the ramble, I just want to say that your videos are so enjoyable and don't ever stop :) I am looking forward for your next video

That's normal however I believe if you have two different strains of feijoa it increases pollination. Next season you should have fruit. Yum!

Hi, Kaye! Wow, that's a huge feijoa plant. How long have you had it? And do you happen to know what variety of Feijoa you have? Is it self-fruitful or do you need a pollinator? Thank you!

What a lovely garden. How do you get so much feijoa fruit? My will flower like crazy but the bees totally ignore them and I have to self pollinate. Even that get only small crop. Head scratcher.

A couple of questions. What do you do with all your garden produces?You can't possibly consume all the fruit and veggies. Another quest6ion is how do you manage to garden out on the sidewalk. Does your city not have ordinances against this? Just curious.

Beautiful video and music. Can sweet Annie be grown from seeds? I hope to grow some of the varieties you do like the African blue basil, passion fruit, dragon fruit and some frost hearty figs and citrus. Those figs look amazing! I grew common milkweed for butterflies but they are so busy mating they haven’t even visited anything but the flowers. What does Goji berry taste like? Are you having a better day? You seemed down on the live. Can I buy seeds from you? Take care!!
@Latebloomershow
@Latebloomershow 4 жыл бұрын
I felt quite cheerful, so, I'm surprised I came across that way. I have some seeds I could sell. Yes, I grew Sweet Annie from seed three years ago, but no need to now. It reseeds easily and I had probably two dozen plants spring up. Dragon fruit is a tropical plant, so not sure if it would be happy, or bloom, where you are. I'm still learning about it. Doesn't look too promising that I will see a flower on mine, but hopefully on the plants I propagated. Goji is not sweet, kind of an intense tomato taste. I filmed me eating that one, but hated the way I looked so I left it out. Love to you!

I had exactly 6.5 feet from street curb to sidewalk, and 20' long. In that, I had 3-4 trees. They WILL suck up all the water. When first planted (see video) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gNOppJhozdKtZqs.html I had a lot of other plants at the base. As they grew, all went away. As the matt of roots take all the water in a small space. Check out what I left behind. Had to deep prune them to sell the property. (heartbreak to leave them and they won't grow in TN) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kLWPpdhluKzJZas.html Still, I can't watch this without crying and it's been four years. Do check out my TN homestead! Hope to see you here.

I should say, if you provide drip irrigation at the base, or have a good rainfall, you will be able to maintain other plants nearby. It just rarely rained in SoCal, and I had limited irrigation out there.
