Hey Ri , know that God made you the way you are for a reason and you’re absolutely beautiful especially without makeup on. Ri, when you began talking I thought a good experiment for you would be going to work one full week without makeup. (Don’t block me for suggesting this! 😂) You’re right to want to free yourself from overemphasis on how you look without makeup because you have better things to do with your mind, energy, and time. You’re stronger than you think. Your beauty radiates in every word, in the joy and laughter you express with your fam & friends, and the dedication and love you show your students. @riannajanis I agree with the experiment. I’ve actually had to do and it works, you have to build it up over time. Start with one while day with makeup, then the next week try two days etc. start in a space where you feel comfortable if you feel like you go totally eh grocery with makeup start the experiment there and once confident start the experiment over in a harder space like church or school. Your Beautiful and you got this.

When you said you don’t look like the girls on IG, I thought to myself, the girls on IG don’t even look like themselves. A lot of them use filters and wear makeup and would look a lot different without it. I could be completely wrong but I believe most people struggle with some form of insecurity. It may not be about looks, it could be about where they are in life financially, educationally, or how they are socially. Your person will love you for just the way you are.

I'm watching this video screaming nooooo don't tell anyone you're a KZfaqr until the friendship is established. Your profession is you are an amazing teacher...PERIOD! Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you with discernment in knowing who is for and who is not. God allows things in our life when He feels we're ready for it. If he is not allowing it, that means we still need some maturing. Immerse yourself more in the Word. Psalms 119 is so amazing. I like The Passion translation. Also, I dont know if you've received your heavenly language yet, but praying in the Spirit is praying God's perfect will. This is so important in the Christian life. Love you sis🙏🏾

The real problem is that you are seeing yourself as this and that and once you see yourself as beautiful from within then it will show on the outside regardless of what you look like on the outside and so will your future husband. Hey Ri! First, I think you are gorgeous and your personality just enhances your beauty. Thanks for being brave enough to share your truth. In my twenties, I NEVER left the house without makeup and being dressed to the nines. Now in my thirties I barely wear makeup! Pray to have eyes to see what God sees when He looks at you and I guarantee your perspective will change. God hand crafted us into His image with our own unique qualities and talents. I’m often disgusted when I get on social media to see all the societal standards and surgeries where everyone looks alike.

You're beautiful Ri! We all go through this, everyone around me compliments my looks but then when I'm around another PRETTY girl, I find myself comparing myself or feeling insecure. The other day I turned in my Masters thesis, and then I found myself wondering what I would look like with lip filler. One of my proudest moments overshadowed by insecure thoughts about myself. It does suck, but I think even the prettiest of girls feel this way too! Love yours ❤

Rianna, thank you for your transparency. I resonate with what you said about the insecurities. Actually, just this past week I struggled with it a lot, so this video really came at the perfect time. I used to deal with really bad acne from the time I was 11 to 30 (I’m 32 now), so I think that has a lot to do with it. Subconsciously I still don’t feel pretty even though my external appearance has improved. I’ve really had to bring all my insecurities to God in prayer and really ask Him to help me because just like you, I sometimes wonder how this would affect my future partner. I’ve already seen how it manifested in my past relationships. We just have to remind ourselves that we’re made in the likeness and image of God and any person that doesn’t accept us fully (flaws and all), is not deserving of us. You’re so beautiful without makeup. I’ve always thought that and I truly hope you can see yourself the ways others see you soon enough ❤️🙏🏽

I totally 100% can identify with what you described about not wearing makeup. It's totally not about your actual appearance. Its fear of being vulnerable and rejected for who you are. Dating is soooo hard for me for this very reason. I feel so uncomfortable being vulnerable and accepted especially by a man (daddy issues),because I wouldnt be able to handle it at this point. Something I heard someone say years ago that stuck with me is that everyone is ugly to someone. Strange way to uplift someone right? I’ve heard people say that Beyoncé and Halle Berry are ugly, and this was when they were in their “prime”. If we wait for people to build us up and make us feel good, we’ll never be in a good place. Don’t let your insecurities stop you from getting out if that’s what you really want to do. Life is too short to be worried about what other people think. It’s definitely easier said than done but work at it. You could be missing out on some great moments and memories staying in. You could also be missing out on your person finding you. 🤗❤️🙏🏾

Hey girl, I'll pray for you and me both. It's funny you mention that you're in a better headspace and then you go into this funky time-lapse of doubt. I'm 5 yrs older than you and I still experience this too. We're human and there is still a part of us that wants to please others. I was bullied for being chunky too and have lost weight, but like you mention, I've lost weight, so why am I not happy still? Healing our trauma takes a lot of time, but don't forget how much effort you've put into improving yourself! That alone is worth praising and little RI would be very proud of you. 🙏💕💕💐

I can relate to your struggles. Growing up, I was taller than everyone (I'm 5'11/6'0 now) with acne and ugly toes lol. As I got older, I was like "F*** It" and I put on the sandals and wore the heels because who cares lol. Confidence is key.

Happy Friday 💜 Giiirl life IS LIFIIIIING!!! My room looks a MESS because I keep looking for clothes & not putting anything back!! Smh...I'm over it. I appreciate how transparent you are. You have to know that with or without make-up, you are beautiful & imperfectly perfect! I'm plus size & some days the back fat & the front fat, be extra fat 😂😂 and that's just what it is. I wrote my comment when I had just begun watching right after you went to church. Thank you for your vulnerability. I think right now a LOT of us worry that we’re not good enough. So thank you for sharing. You are pretty with and without makeup. God has to think you are great for all that you do for the community. You give your WHOLE self. I just saw an interview with Zendaya. She says she has always been very shy and that makeup and fashion help her to express herself more and live a little more out loud. Hey Rianna! I think this is the first time I’m commenting but I wanted to let you know I think you’re so beautiful with and without makeup. Crazy enough during the beginning of the vlog when you were doing your skincare routine I said in my head how pretty you are and when I continued with the vlog and saw that you were expressing your insecurities about how you look without makeup I was surprised! As someone who is now in her 30’s I go through the same thoughts as I’m also in my “dating” season but one thing is for certain we will find the man that God designed for us that will love what we look like with and without makeup ❤ and until then just know you have a whole squad here that sees your beauty!

Not that your looks should matter BUT I see your beauty (inside and out) But I also completely understand what you’re saying about your self image because there are times when I watch your videos and say I wish I could wear that and not look a mess or I love how she did did her hair I wish I could get my hair like that. Rianna! Ma’am, you are gorgeous with and WITHOUT makeup! I understand exactly what you mean. I turn 30 this year and I still struggle with my image for the exact same reasons. I did have slight attention from guys during my teens/young adult years but I was also overlooked for being dark skinned and short. My body type (short, large bust, no behind) was an area of insecurity for me (still is, actually). But God sees us as His fearfully and wonderfully made daughters. I pray that we can both get to see and believe that soon. Last thing! lol I’m a Maryland educator as well (PG County!!!) and MCAP is stressing me out 🤣 I teach 8th grade RELA and my kids are going through it 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Just remember that we’re human too. Every day isn’t going to be perfect. As long as we love on our kids and make sure they’re good, then we’re doing the best we can. Love you!!! 💕

It's a reflection of their hang ups. Superficial narcissistic people need to drive into a tree. I had the same issue. BUT I KNOW I AM PRETTY, I may not be gorgeous BUT I'M GIRLNEXT DOOR PRETTY. That's why I am genuinely the most pretty and approached LADY in the room. DON'T feel insecure or rushed because you'll crash and burn. Trust me I'm talking from experience and once that happens, it's an unnecessary rabbit hole you DON'T want to go down sis. Adam needed Eve. He who finds a wife finds a good thing.
