Yeah, I think I get what you're saying: when you're really old and your eyesight is failing...laying in a hospice bed, and the last thing you see is grainy footage of the games from your childhood...the moments when you were happy. ^_^

Coin song is the most emotional Final Fantasy ever was on a deep level. You can talk all you want about love and tragedy. But to emulate brotherhood and to accept a fate you necessarily didn't want on the flip of a one-sided coin, is the epitome of badassery. You can be level 99 and still not understand the power it takes to make other people's dreams more attainable while supressing your own desires. In that regard Edgar is the most important character FF ever had in terms of translating real world values to a videogame.

To me FF6 is not just a "game" When I was a nerd lonely teenager girl, All those characters were the only friends that I had. I spoke with them while I was exploring the world map. I enjoyed every moments of this game. Celes is my role model since age 15. She was the best video game female character.

I hear you. I used to read the dialogue out loud when I was playing by myself. To this day, I really look up to Cyan. It probably helped that he looked a bit like my dad.

In 1994 my parents had just recently divorced, I was lost, my older brothers were much older and werent around. I was home all day during the holiday season of 94 stuck in a small room. I was playing this game every single day for two weeks from the moment I woke up until I went to bed. I have this memory of my dad coming from from work at that time and opened my room door checking up on me and asked how long I have been playing that game and what I ate all day. I was eating Doritos and drinking coca cola all day. My dad was exhausted from working all day and cooked a healthy meal for me and I refused because I didnt like one single topping in it. My dad was the kindest man I know, unwavering patience with my terrible attitude and behavior towards him. I look back on those days with fond memories of playing this game, but that memory is forever stuck in my mind of how I treated my dad. Dad Im sorry and I should have been a better son. I look back now and realize how much you loved me.You were kind and loving for decades up to your last breath you would only think of me. I will forever cherish the love you gave me , I was so lucky to have such a father.

That’s a beautiful sentiment, man, the whole thing. There was (and is) something great about you that gave your father a reason to persevere in his campaign of kindness towards you. I’m a step-dad, and one of my two kids is extremely rude-sometimes to me, sometimes to everyone around them, mostly to her mom-but we’re always good to her. We judge her by the person she is when she’s happy, and it’s been our shared goal to do what we can to always see a little bit more of that person. And really, the happy her is a wonderful person, and so forgiving her meanness is easy. Anyway, I’m sure that’s how your dad saw you and how he approached you. I bet his work has made you a really cool person 🤙🏻

I dont want to sound greedy but I'd love a part 2 like you did with the FF7 tracks and i'd love to hear Zozo and The Veldt! But i am being greedy haha. Anyway, fantastic job!

@@Garmichael1 I really struggle with songs that have strong drums/beats in them like the Veldt track, when you distort the sample they start to get really wonky. I did a remix of Magitek Factory I didn't like enough to put on this mix that I'll upload to give you an idea of what that's like. I'll keep chuggin away at these, don't worry.

@@lzls4379 Ahh yeah I could see that. I think there are tools for SPCs that will let you remove layers or change the instruments for them. Might be neat to replacce the industrial drums for the hip hop ones. I dont know much about it though or if thats actually even a thing.

14:00 We all knew Sabin wouldn't accept to be the king but still he respected his dad's last wish. And just compare Edgar/Sabin brotherhood with Somnus/Ardyn (Final Fantasy XV) . Somnus made a tragedy and completely ruined his brother's life while Sabin stand with Edgar till the end.

For real I was torn on that but the main theme/intro version is so linked for me with actually booting the game up, I ended up going with that version. I think the in game Terra's theme is better but I didn't really want to basically just do the same song twice.

I LOVE FF5 - I know the story isn't as good as 6 but man I just have fun with that game. It's the perfection of the Job system for me. I might do an "older games" mix some time and see how that goes. I'm not sure how many people are into FF5 since it didn't get a US release but I've listened to that soundtrack a good 30-40 times so I know it has some jams on it.
