Had a few requests for some longer play videos so I figured this would be a good place to start. Did some minor remixing since some of the old tracks sounded a little rough.

Hey @lsls4378 What version of the game is this footage from? I noticed cloud and barret have about half normal HP and MP for their level and the guard scorpion was -very- beefy!

@Shadow Flare ha so I forgot when I filmed it I had installed a difficulty mod many years prior to that. I was just trying to get some quick footage and obviously spent 30 minutes killing the guard scorp instead. I want to say it's called Insanity Mod? But it's a PSX emulator with a modded iso.

Its wild how 25 years later we can all come back to this game and just the music gives you chills and butterflies. God... times were so much simpler as a youth. Little to no actual stress. Times change and we grow but the music stays with us forever

thing is i didnt saw it that early, im currently 19 and watched my mom play it as i was probably 6-7 she allowed me to sometimes do leveling for her, i was super happy. but i agree, even for me its a big nostalgic playlist :D

Final Fantasy 7 is the game that made me love life. I was going through hard times when it released, me and my family had just moved to a new home and I had troubles adapting to the new lifestyle, but I started watching my older brother playing FF7 all the time, till one day he gave me the controller so we could both beat Sephiroth in the lifestream. I know, there is no way to lose to him, but to me that was one of the most gratifying moments in all my life, we beat him, we saved the planet, and I felt nothing but trust coming from my brother. Thank you for posting this, it brings me back to that moment, it's like a breathe of heartwarming nostalgia.

I've been sick with flu this week and had to stay in bed. Decided to start ff7 og again. Just managed to get out of midgar tonight👍. The real world is terrifying.. For my kids especially, and it's hard to feel any sense of hope or adventure these days. But leaving midgar today again gave me that sense of wonder and adventure I don't think could ever be replicated. 39 and feeling like a kid again haha. Need to sleep now though I'm not 13 any more gotta rest these bones 😂

Man, I would LOVE to just have that prelude on loop by itself. Having the harmony/non-dominant be stronger than the melody for a little while is a really cool sound that I haven't heard anyone else do before!

It was around november in 97 when i rented this game. It was too hard for me to finish at the time because i didn't speak the language so i died in the countdown explosion. otherwise great game

Man, what a great game = 7 was just superb. One of the console GOATS, without a doubt. The love surrounding this game is palpable. They should remake it - but make it more like Kingdom Hearts 3!

Huh, wonder where some of this footage is from. Maybe it is just a coincidence but at 6:10 he opens the menu in the spot where speedrunners do the frame perfect encounter skip.

@@lzls4379 Oh I just see it watching streamer Calebhart42. Using manipulation the first encounter happens around that spot on the bridge. FFVII has a bug where if you open the menu the same frame you would have an encounter then it skips the encounter. Speedrunners will often open the menu and rapidly close and reopen it like in this footage for "two chances" at hitting the frame perfect skip. Because this is the first "trick" of a FFVII speedrun I've seen it dozens of times. With how similar it was it triggered my memory.

@@lzls4379 the speedrun can predict the exact spot a battle will happen if you follow a precise path (called stepcount). Some battles can be skipped by opening the menu on the right frame.

35 pounds and if higher the chokobo won't be a savepoint travel unless it's 35 pounds .. anything less Chocobo can be seen with players and others roaming.
