Jean is my step mom. My father, Frank Veloz, fell in love with her while still married to my Mom, Yolanda. My parents, called Veloz and Yolanda, thereafter divorced, and thereafter dad and Jean became dance partners and then man and wife. Jean is 93 now and lives but five minutes from my home, and we used to dance together often at her home to keep her in good condition for her swing seminars all over the world. But I simply cannot keep up with this amazing phenom. AND she's as sweet and unassuming as she is incredibly great at dancing.

It must be great to see yourself back in those swing days. In the UK, the dancehalls had a corner roped off for this dancing at the start. Does this ever take me back. One dance, and then a port and lemon, if you fancied each other. Those were the days!

I just checked and it seems she is still alive! Close to 100 now. I have seen about 8 videos of her this week. One was recent and showed her in a recreation at 93 of her dance One Girl and Two Boys at a swing get together. Phenomenal. No jumps though. 11/4/22
