In this video, I will talk about a situation that is a first in the history of medicine. I will share with you the story of a patient who had an AV fistula opened in his arm for seven years and who underwent hemodialysis 3 days a week and 4 hours per session. We removed him from hemodialysis and followed him for 6 years without dialysis. Under normal circumstances, a patient with chronic kidney disease who has been on hemodialysis for a long time can only get out of dialysis with a kidney transplant. Our patient was removed from dialysis without a kidney transplant. Our patient was a chronic kidney disease patient, and before undergoing dialysis, he was followed up in the nephrology department of a university hospital for 2 years, and a fistula was opened in his arm and preparations were made for dialysis. So he had chronic kidney disease, not acute. He was a patient whose kidney biopsy could not be performed because both of his kidneys were atrophic, meaning they were small. I reduced our patient's dialysis to twice a week, then once a week, and when the conditions were met, I took him off dialysis. I followed our patient for 73 months without dialysis or any deterioration in the patient's quality of life, and on the contrary, I improved his quality of life. I did this with "Soil Kidney Care", which is named after my own surname and entered the medical literature. Of course, this does not happen to every dialysis patient. Under what conditions can this happen? Is there a protocol for this and an algorithm for removing it from dialysis? How can patients quit dialysis or reduce the number of sessions with Toprak Kidney Care? Is there a fee required from patients for this procedure? Who can get out of dialysis or can only get out of dialysis with a kidney transplant? I tried to answer these and dozens of your questions with this video. I would like to thank my patient Fuat Ünlü and his esteemed wife for agreeing to shoot a video with me and to publish this video. I wish a good recovery to all our patients, with the hope of coming across many more success stories. I think that this case study is a case that gives hope for the future to all our nephrologist friends, dialysis physicians, dialysis workers, medical doctors, medical students and nurses. @doc.dr.omertoprak
