This is the best sounding cover I've seen from the many on KZfaq so far - nails the sound without drowning in flanger too.

The secret is a Flanger with the dry/direct out, so it’s no so harsh in stereo. The older Electric Mistresses have them.

I believe Robert Smith used the Top 20 pickup that he had built into his Jazzmaster, that being said, you've great tone! What are your effects and amp you use for these vids?

If you look at some of my later videos you’ll see my Top Twenty. But there’s no way I’m hatching into a 60’s Jazzmaster to put that pick-up in!

Nice guitar and tone. However this is not a “Cover”....you’re playing along with the Cure’s recording. I suggest either playing your guitar only (not with original track in background) or doing a cover where you add your artistic touches to the song. Otherwise your just playing along like a million other guys on the web...again good playing and tone!

Hi there... thanks! I just want to play along with the song... it always sounds crap if it is just the guitar - and the entire purpose is to help others learn. So adding my own touches would defeat the object. Importantly - people looking to learn how to play songs look for "guitar cover" as a search term - so that works... Thanks for watching!
