The bustling neighbourhood of Bandra is home to some amazing eateries, from swanky new places to iconic old ones. Today, we’re taking it old school by visiting some of the best bakeries in Bandra that have withstood the test of time!
We started our journey at A1 Bakery on Hill Road, where we stocked up on several baked treats. This place caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian patrons with its sweets and savouries, so we grabbed a few of each. The best part? It’s extremely affordable, and our feast was very pocket-friendly.
Next, we headed to J Hearsch & Co., an iconic establishment in Bandra for over 120 years. Its quality showed in the buttery, flaky crust of its mutton pattice and the soft decadent jam roll, which is one of its specialties. This is a tiny place with no seating arrangement, and we could hardly wait to find somewhere to sit and dig in!
Next on our list was National Bakery, a paradise for non-vegetarians. We got their famous barbecue chicken roll and were blown away by the soft bread and perfectly cooked and spiced chicken.
You might know our next stop best for their Christmas cakes, but American Express Bakery serves up delicious baked goods year round! We tried some of their sweet and savoury options, and were able to do that immediately after we made our purchase, because they happen to have a small seating area that we made full use of.
Our journey exploring the best bakeries in Bandra ended at D’Costa bakery, where we stocked up on breads, biscuits, and cookies to take home and savour in the days to come.
