I am so fed up with seeing these people doing potentially dangerous things to their faces/skin. We all know that there are impressionable kids that are viewing stuff like this on TikTok, and it seems as though TikTok are not concerned about it at all. Why was that girl's video with gel nail polish not taken down🤔🤔🙄 Sorry just an older person having a Sunday night moan 🤣

Afaik, Tiktok views don't really translate well into money so they literally are destroying their skins (and then even spending money on the following medications and treatments) just for views. I thought dumb people on youtube were bad (but at least youtube is paying well to those dumb people) but with the rise of Tiktok, people just get worse and worse. All for a view count that doesn't have any value and some 15 sec fame (because they'll be replaced immediately by another outrageously dumb person on Tiktok the next day)

As a psychotherapist, I have genuine concerns about that content creator putting stuff all over her face. It’s self harm whether intentional or not and it breaks my heart she doesn’t seem to have anyone in her life who can gather her together or if she has people…she’s not listening 😔

I feel like not enough people are talking about the whole self harm aspect of all of these kinds of stunts, so thank you for bringing that up. I feel like likely more than a few of these creators know the risk going in and choose to do it anyway because they think the views are more valuable than themselves as a person, and it breaks my heart because not long ago, I was in a similar boat!!

Especially with a baby wipe on a chemical burn. Like ah yes, let's add more chemicals to our chemicals, that'll go well. My chemistry professor explicitly warned us to never apply another chemical to an area with a chemical burn, you run the burn under water for 20 minutes or so. Never mix because the reaction can make it worse.

@@babewithvoodoo980 Xylitol is a sweetener, so I’d expect to see that more in a lip product that has a flavoring than in other products. However, you’ll want to keep all products out of reach. Chewing packaging can be an issue- might injure the mouth, and cause gastrointestinal issues if swallowed. I’d have to do a deep dive into various products and ingredients to see what else out there may be an issue.

Capsaicin is the active ingredient in the too faced lip injection, it is also the active ingredient *in pepper spray* if you are sensitive to spice you may have an allergy. Some companies use menthol which is, you guessed it *a chemical irritant* that lots of people are already allergic to (like the buxom plumper) and even if you aren’t allergic these are causing chemical burns

Don't get me wrong, he always looks fantastic, but today it's just extra beautiful 💜 Also, after that idiot put gel polish (cured) all over her face, nothing surprises me with TicTok anymore. Sorry for calling her an idiot, but that's the only word to describe that behaviour. Going viral for something silly doesn't seem to have longevity, instead of being creative, they're doing dangerously stupid things. The foundation girl (Meredith...) had her thing and got lucky people kept watching, but that was just wasteful, not dangerous. The main plumper ingredient is capsaicin, which is derived from chiles! It can be dangerous for people who don't have a tolerance to spice, or allergies to chiles, even with the expected application method. I myself have tried the Two Faced gloss when I was gifted one from a brand training. I tested it on my family using disposable lip wands and posted the review on Sephora. My family tolerates spice and therefore tolerated the lip gloss just fine, but I did notice the redness that creeped past everyone's lip lines.

As someone who has worked in a not very safe laboratory (OSHA gave them a surprise visit) and had two chemical burns, this bothers me so much. Also, for anyone who accidentally burns themselves with similar products, it’s recommended in most Safety Data Sheets for harsh or corrosive chemicals to quickly and gently rinse the area thoroughly (maybe 10-15 minutes), add burn cream, do not wipe, wrap with something nonstick, and visit the doctor. From experience, the most important part of this is that you RINSE thoroughly. If some of these people had gotten in the shower to immediately rinse it, the outcomes might not have been as bad.

Seeing the pictures of people's chemical burns, particularly the ones on the upper cheeks, makes me realize that's probably what happened to me a few years ago when I tried a new skincare product. I got this huge red welt on one cheek near my eye and another rash-like reaction on my neck where I'd originally tested it. Both places were insanely itchy and red, and the one on my cheek would sting if I cried and tears touched it. It was also slightly raised and a little bit flaky, almost like dandruff or something, but it wasn't overly dry and I made sure to keep it moisturized with a gentle moisturizer. Eventually it did clear up, and what's really weird is that the product was the Ordinary's niacinamide serum, which I re-introduced as the reaction started to clear up and have been using almost every single day since then. The only reason I can think of is that I used it too frequently right off the bat (the bottle said morning at night) since I've had no negative reaction since and I NEVER hear of people reacting to niacinamide. It was the only new product I had introduced at that time though so I have no idea what else could have caused it.

I really appreciate that you don't just make fun of people so much as explain.Especially since these trends can be dangers. Chemical burns on the skin are no joke especially on the face. To answer your question about where they get these ideas I think they just look at something random in there room and just think how can I make this either dangerous or more dangerous than it is.

I love that with EVERY video Robert posts he proves to everyone what an incredible makeup artist he is (as if it was ever in question) with his unbelievably beautiful makeup looks, it's like each video is just better and better and better, I'm always mesmerized by his color choices, application, obvious knowledge of techniques and the end result is always stunin', which makes any advice he gives so much more believable and impactful, this man KNOWS what he's taking about!!!! I'm so glad I found your channel, you have single handedly help me improve my makeup prowess 10 fold more than any other "beauty guru" over the course of being subscribed to your channel, which in turn has greatly improved my ability and confidence, so from the bottom of my heart, I thank you, sending loves to you love from the good ol' US of A ❤❤❤❤❤ That girl really roughly wiping and swiping her face with the makeup wipe after BURNING it with lip plumper, made me cringe, wince, shudder and shiver all down my spine just thinking of the pain, OMG girl show yourself some love and be nice to the only face you get!!!! What is wrong with these people, no, no, no just please STOP😢 This verged on unwatchable for me simply thinking of the pain, but I never miss a Robert Welsh upload, not starting now🫶🏻

These videos are so important. A lot of people also don't realize quite how sensitive and thin areas of skin on your face are. Putting some of these chemicals anywhere they are not supposed to be is a problem. Heck, for sensitive skin people like myself, I can't even wear foundations anymore without issue, I just take really good care of my skin and do eye make-up, lips, a little concealer and blush these days. I actually burnt my face with a DIY cinnamon mask that was fine on my friend, but too harsh on my skin and I had a massive reaction. You have to be sooooo damn careful with your skin.

Omg you just unlocked a memory with that lip venom😂 in high school one of my friends had one and I went to put it on my lips and started crying cuz it hurt😂 I did also have super chapped lips, so that was fun. I didn't even apply it to the top lip but I was still soooo uncomfortable it was not at all normal😂

I use that two face lip gloss everyday. At least 4 times I have accidentally touched my face after wiping the side of my lip when trying to clean it up. I ended up with swollen blotches that I had to put a cold drink on because I'm at work, driving around, with nothing else at my disposal. It was extremely painful.. I don't understand why the hell someone would do this for shits and giggles.

I was in an accident over the summer (microwaved food exploded in my face) and had 2nd degree burns on my face. Unimaginable pain. This is what I learned if this happens to you: rinse the area with cool (not cold) water for 15-20 minutes to stop the burn from going deeper into the skin. Get aquaphor and apply it liberally to the skin to create a protective barrier. Fortunately the burn center told me that the face heals very quickly but even now, six months later, my lip on that side is still darker than the other side

My boyfriend grabbed me and gave me a smooch one morning. I usually layer a swipe of plumping gloss (Essence What the Fake Extreme, ftw) under my lip colour and hadn't blotted it off yet. A few minutes later, he called and asked what I had done because his lips were burning. I explained to him what happened and suggested he go wipe his lips off. Now, he gives me an extra second to offer a cheek/forehead.

The alcohol from the perfume one is really concerning. More so with smaller bodies like children or animals. It was popular to use things like surgical spirit/alcohol to bring down body temperatures, but as it evaporates you inhale it. Leading to intoxication. When I was a vet nurse we would only spray down the feet with surgical spirit no where else.

Your eyes look so cool today! Love the contacts too, just the shape of the shadow is perfect. I don’t use lip plumper, and I avoid anything with “plumping” ingredients in it. There’s no reason for it, the very real risk of having a bad reaction is NOT worth it. Your natural lips are good enough, and pretty enough, I promise.
