After exploring Europe, Morocco and the South West of the USA we’ve decided to stay close to home and explore an area almost on our doorstep. Join us this week as we venture out in our own motorhome with George. We stay at one of our regular pub stops near Birmingham and find local things to do, including our first visit to Cadbury World in Bournville.

Fun Cadbury facts! (for me anyway)😁 The “Fuse” bar if you remember it was made by total accident! A machine used to enrobe and process a completely different product was setup wrong! I remember them coming off the line about 3ft long and pretending they were chocolate swords!lol one of the moulding team tried one and passed to management and cleared it. Hence the Cadbury Fuse bar 👍🏼👍🏼 Also, my dad, a mechanical engineer worked on the mini egg plant whilst in development and helped design the mouldings, final shape and speckle’s! I still think about that every time I eat one!ha! I did most of my electrical apprenticeship at Cadbury’s back in the late 90- early 2000… the golden ticket was the card to the chocolate shop with about 70% off 👍🏼👍🏼 Atb Ant & Cat

Hiya ! I live in Bournville , Cadburys is a great day out 👍👍 Bournville has an interesting history , houses originally for the workers , now very desirable and costly. The owners of Cadburys were quakers so no pubs on the entire estate! Thankyou for sharing x👍👍👍

If you like Vodka, try a Soda and ask for Vodka adding its amazing ! We have a Hickorys near Wakefield and went for the first time for daughters birthday and loved the food and the service was very good too, watch out for the added service charge as I didnt' realize and paid that and a tip !!

I live North East of Birmingham and have never been to Cadbury World It’s like Warwick Castle. Only been once and that was at junior school 45+ years ago If it’s local to where you live you don’t visit I often travel to where the sea is as Birmingham is landlocked as I have relatives who live in Dorset so I go to Weymouth/Sidmouth every summer 😍😍❤️❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👍 👍 🇬🇧

Best chocolate there is! Not far from my home town and my Mom used to work on the Rose's line. The bird @ 8:10 is a Coot, white flash above the bill. If it's red then it's a Moorhen.

Grew up not far from the Cider House. Have thought about staying there for the night but are the roads tight? Also, have you been to Wedges bakery up the road? Probably best to walk there though. 😀

Hi folks, pretty sure the bird on your walk was a Moorhen. I listened to a podcast recently (You’re Dead to Me really good on history) all about chocolate, did you know that the Creme Egg was originally made by Fry’s? Who knew eh? Personally I’m not a fan they’re too sickly for me. Looking forward to your further adventures.

I would strongly suggest you use diesel additives with your vehicle and heater, my Webasto gave me problems as the stupid biodiesel crap they put in gums up everything nice job!

Cadbury is my fave chocolates as well the English ones! The one they have here in the states is not like the ones from England! I have ordered from Amazon as well!! Also if you like Curly Wurlys put them in the freezer!

The best chocolate factory tour for us has been Hershey unfortunately no matter that you can design your own candybar with a variety of flavors nothing beats a Cadbury except maybe a galaxy.

Hi does the diesel heater work from main diesel tank or does it run on a separate tank and how much does it use .

Yes it’s plumbed into the main diesel tank and it’s too early to say how much it uses as yet, but I’m sure we’ll feed that back through our videos as we get to use it…

Hi, great vid as always. Just curious, do you have a Truma water and heating system in the van and if you do, did you consider the Truma D6E instead of the Eberspacher? Just wondering as I'm contemplating changing my Truma gas and electric system to the equivalent diesel system so I am not so reliant on gas but hadn't really considered the Eberspacher because it doesn't do the hot water. Just wondering if I haven't researched enough and whether there is a downside to the D6E. Thanks 😊

We didn’t want to remove gas completely from the van, but instead wanted an alternative solution to heat the van when off grid in the winter. We did consider the Truma diesel, but this way gives us more options and leaves the existing system as is.

@RoamingRadfords ah okay .. yeh I am not going to remove gas either, was just going to use it for fridge and cooking and then have hot water and heating powered by either diesel or electric. Thanks for replying 😊

Love Cadbury blog reminds me of the bars of choc growing up in the 50 they seemed much thicker choc bars only 6pence a bar use to buy it with my shilling spending money .food looked good seemed funny just with george.looking forward to the next blog x 🍫🚍

Hi.. where are you at your weight level..the van that is!. How much more can you go and how does it affect the van's performance and braking etc. Keep going great to watch..

Thanks. The vans performance hasn’t been effected by any of the upgrades, although the ride is now much better since fitting the VB Air Suspension. It's not advisable to use a gas hob for heating purposes but surely a van like this would have come with heating from new so why install the diesel heater

We’ve always used our gas hobs for 5 minutes to take the immediate chill off a freezing cold van and then let the heating take over as the heating can take 15-20 minutes to kick in. It’s absolutely fine to do this, it’s just like having 3 hobs on when cooking, there is plenty of ventilation in the van to be able to cope with this. Anyone with a caravan or motorhome will tell you how hard it is to find gas nowadays, especially refillable LPG, and we were looking for an alternative method to heat our van when off grid camping. We hope this helps clarify why we had a diesel heater fitted Colin.

I saw on KZfaq and the news a story in Scotland about the Willy Wonker Factory Experience and families got ripped off. They got half a cup of fizzy pop and some jelly beans 😮 Only Factory regarding chocolate has to be Cadbury 😊 See Josh has a deeper voice now 😂 Before you know it he'll 20.
