Grover Gardner, I love that guy! He narrates all the "Vorkosigan" novels by Lois McMaster Bujold for Audible. I'm so used to hearing him do Sci-fi. It feels weird hearing him do history. I thought Steven Crossley or Simon Vance narrated all the historical stuff, fiction or non.

Nowadays we look more to biological children, whether the parents are married or not, but back at that time and especially with Royals and in the case of religion, many of the English believed Mary Queen of Scots to be the heir to the English Throne after Mary Tudor because she was next in line and was a Catholic. Many at that time never accepted Anne Boleyn as Queen and considered Elizabeth Tudor a bastard, just as her father claimed her to be when he beheaded her mother. How sad it was for Elizabeth to be thought of by many as the bastard child of King Henry the 8th and worst of all for people to call her mother a whore. Ann was not Henry's mistress, and they were on friendly terms- but clean friendly terms for 7 years or so prior to them ever becoming intimate. People think what they choose to think and Anne Boleyn never wanted to be thought of the way her sister was, OR to be treated that way. Henry the 8th was fascinated and obsessed with Anne Boleyn for many many years! Due to the circumstances surrounding that and Mary Queen of Scots being the granddaughter of Margaret Tudor, & after Mary Tudor being the next in line to the British throne and being Catholic, many English people thought that Mary Queen of Scots was next in line. Most of the Protestants believed that Elizabeth was to be Mary Tudor's successor. Mary Queen of Scots was always nice to Elizabeth and didn't threaten her, despite outwitting her several times. Mary had to outwit her because Elizabeth was trying to control her by picking her choice of a husband and telling Mary she would name her her successor only if she married the husband of Elizabeth toys and if they had no children. so cunning and controlling of Elizabeth and Mary put her in her place! Mary Queen of Scots did what all Royals were supposed to do to secure their Dynasty and that was to produce an heir. Mary Queen of Scots heir not only ruled Scotland as james.VI, BUT was named as Queen Elizabeth successor and became James the first of England and Ireland. Mary Queen of Scots died a martyr, her son became king and joined those countries together and alas there was peace between England and Scotland.
