Carl Sagan claimed Augustine brought on the dark ages. He told his followers to just accept authority without asking questions. He sought to destroy human curiosity.

Just to be clear Will Durant wrote these... but who is the narrator? The narrator is godsend talented. Takes me to the nostalgia of doing late night security work and playing I, Claudius in my car and other Roman emperors' tales. Not sure if the same dude, but what an amazing narration!!
