Here at Metcalf Mills our goal is not only the preservation and education of the grain milling process, but also to help provide a service and products that help make good, healthy, fresh milled goods more available to individuals and communities. That’s the finest job I’ve ever seen anyone do, On tying up their beans. You sure make a pretty garden,. I see you have a beautiful shade to sit and admire it , under that big pretty willow. You do a good job on your videos. With filming, editing and music and all. Im glad you decided to make a KZfaq channel so you can share your knowledge and show your nice life. That was so sweet, Charlotte loves her daddy. I was a daddy’s girl growing up and had a daddy like you who was smart and hard working. She will always remember the times you spend together and what she learns. I really enjoy reading your comments from your viewers. They leave great comments and thoughts.

My grandfather hand dug wells when he was young. He told me that when he was in the bottom of a deep well where the sun didn't shine, he could sometimes look up toward the top, and see the stars in the sky in the middle of the afternoon! (He told many tall tales though, and I still don't know if some of them were true or not... although I did figure out that he probably never witnessed the headless horseman chasing his old school teacher named Ichabod through the holler!!!!)

Well I know how I am trellising my beans next year. No more buying plastic trellis that tends to break. How you trellis is so much better. My trellis is no where near as tall as yours, I 'm short so when my beans get over the top I trim them back. They branch out more then and and I don't have to use a step ladder to pick, which I have done but I am getting too old to be climbing ladders in the the garden. I canned my first string beans for this summer this past week, should have another batch by Monday. Thank you for another great video and your little girl is so adorable. Blessings to you and your family.

I’m finally growing a few kinds of heirloom beans this year. They do smile when they’re happy! I swear the different varieties all have their own little personalities too. The Dade beans came out of the ground ready to take over the world. The greasy cut shorts are growing well but less aggressive. I’m also growing white half runners and pink half runners, aka peanut beans, and there’s a distinct difference between those varieties as well. I love hanging out in the garden with them all.

Okay my friend... another question. So your trellis looks awesome but in the video you said that you take it all down at the end of the season and store it for next year. Is it safe to assume that you are doing that because of crop rotation in your garden or just like to move things about from year to year? I've admired Tipper & Matt's cow panels but they are more permanent. My grandfather used your method as long as I can remember in his garden for his beans and peas. Just curious... Excellent video Sir. 😀
@metcalfmills5679
@metcalfmills5679 Жыл бұрын
Howdy Zane, we used to use panels for years. I like the tall trellis better and yes to moving the spot every year. I noticed that things were not growing as good where the trellises had been. There was a very distinct line of difference. I don’t know why but I don’t plan on using them again in the garden. Thank you!
