Can we find that elusive 1950 D Nickel? This is part 173 of the series (Boxes 207 and 208 for Series 2) and I do plan on updating it from each nickel box I hunt from this point forward until the nickel coin collection is completed! A Great Hunt - Nickel Hunt and Fill #173

FYI - The Dansco Album does not have spots for some coins but we'll be hunting these boxes of nickels for Silver Nickels, Buffalo Nickels, Proof coins, Old Jefferson Nickels (namely semi-key and key date nickels), Liberty V Nickels and 2009's for their low mintage.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and our eyes open for some valuable and rare Nickels!

Another great hunt of Nickels. I have no luck with nickels boxes this year, so far 9 was skunks from 10 hunted. Keep going man.

That was a sweet hunt! And, you found one of the only two coins I still need for my book - that 1943-D silver war nickel! (I also need the 1939-D). And wow - multiple buffalo and silver war nickels in one box - you can't get mad at that! Another great video!

Of the few 50-D's I've seen, so far none have had that trademark weakness in the steps that plagued 1960s Jeffersons, but it's always fun to flip those Denver nickels over. 🫣

As far as I know, there are zero known 60D Jeffersons with full steps. The other 60’s Denver’s have low full steps populations as well

It’s a fun hobby. I don’t even bother trying to buy full boxes anymore. Sometimes the banks don’t want to sell a full box if you don’t have a business account. But I can always buy 10 rolls at a time. I’ll drive around and hit up several different banks getting rolls at each one. Give it a try, and good luck.

I've seen people waste their precious time in worse ways, I guess. However, the additional wasted time sitting in front of a PC making a video makes it a close race.
