Yes, I’ve been a huge fan of BTS for about a year now (so still baby ARMY!) and I haven’t had any interest in any other K-Pop I have heard/seen so far, nothing against them, it just hasn’t been my thing, so I don’t at all identify as a K-Pop fan. BTS is really something special, and I’m so grateful I at least found them when I did.

At the end Britney saying that she will add some BTS songs to her Spotify playlist even though she doesn’t understand Korean, that’s exactly how BTS became popular, most of the ARMY’s didn’t understand their language, but they felt BTS’ sincerity and genuineness through their music, they talked about subjects like mental health, depression, harsh educational system and etc. Their hard work is reflected in the songs. All these things together broke the language barrier 💜

BTS set the bar for fan treatment, even in Kpop. After they won the 2017 BBMAs award for Top Social Artist, the kpop industry crapped itself and either started or reactivated social media accounts for all their artists. The idea that these "nobodies" got an American award was unheard of. Specifically, the "Big Three" companies of kpop reacted this way -- these three had a stranglehold on the media in South Korea (and other Asian countries) and used clout and money to push their artists to the top in the East. Because BTS were cut from broadcasts and mistreated, they relied on social platforms to reach their audience, which inadvertently allowed them to break in to the West and go global. This was something that was previously thought undoable. No kpop act had even tried to do this after Psy's brief success (and unfortunate one-hit-wonder status) in 2012 with Gangnam Style. By the time BTS came along, the road to the West had been officially closed and kpop was considered a comedic niche market in the the US. Not only did they set the standard for fan treatment and interaction, they also set the standard on artist treatment. It is widely known that the kpop industry is a machine that turns out and tosses aside their artists. There are "slave contracts," mistreatment, starvation, and all sorts of terrible practices that are common knowledge. When artists saw the freedoms and respect that a globally successful group like BTS received from their company (a standard that their company set from the start) they also started expecting better treatment. With a global spotlight on the matter, the abusive practices were put under a spotlight. These days, those companies are backpedaling on the defensive pretty much all the time. BTS truly are the dark horses that turned the kpop industry on its ear.

True ARMY are OT7 which means One True 7. So ARMY supports the members as a group and as solo artists. Some of us don't really have a bias and still some have biases (favorite member from the group) and wreckers (2nd favorite) too. @@brittanyvaldez7609 if you love contemporary, their song Black Swan is one you'd probably really like. Visually, it showcases Jimin's contemporary background well. The song was mainly written by RM, it's a deep song and written based off a famous quote by dancer Martha Graham (the "a dancer dies twice" quote). The film Black Swan with Natalie Portman also served as inspiration for him when writing the song. Highly recommend watching the music vid + dance practice vid together. Just fyi, nearly every music video of theirs has a corresponding dance practice video - the purpose of those is to show the choreography more clearly, without cuts or fancy camera work. Gives you a whole different feeling for the song to see the whole choreo. Definitely a better experience to watch the music vid and dance practice vid back-to-back.

This video is the best! She put alot of effort in to it! But I just want to point out that she forgot to mention that RM's 148 IQ is genius level but Jimin and Jungkook both have an IQ of 128 which is pretty high too. We don't know about the IQ of all the members. She said that Jungkook is good in everything but Jin also is good in almost every sports, he also can play the piano and guitar! And even tho it's "accurate as of May 2022" It's still not updated because with BTS you basically can't have an updated version for a long time. If you want an accurate update of BTS you would have to add another 5 Minutes every other week because they are working so much that they achieve something new every other week. For example as of May till now, they again released multiple solo albums, other projects, won many awards and broke records. And if you want detailed videos about each member it would have been a 1 hour video for every single one (probally longer LOL) Update: as of Dec 2022, BTS hold the record of the 4th most awarded artist in the world with 1000+ awards. But awards and first places are stolen from them. I urge you to watch/react to the information videos by Boracity Magazine if you have time: BTS vs radio BTS vs Spotify BTS vs attendance award shows BTS vs boybands coming back Why the music industry is terrified of bts why the boyband "hiatus" doesn't apply to bts Why most Armys don't like Kpop "the next bts:" why they fail every time. bts paved the way, why is it so hard to accept it? How the bts army changed Fandom culture the truth behind crazy fandoms trends bts has created

@@natashakim505 I know why. Koreans have high IQ because their brains are getting more trained as they are kids. Children games are often about rythm (music), word plays, memory games and math games. many kids are playing instruments. And of course they have to study hard at an early age for school. All this helps the brain to develop. That's also a reason why pregnant women are playing music in front of their baby belly

When their label was too broke and too small to protect them, they suffered many traumatic events including attacks of extreme hatred, false accusations that got them to court, sabotage attempts from other labels & more. The members themselves recall those years as “hell” that “they don’t even want to think about”, despite it should have been the happiest years for them. And they seen only armys, fighting desperately to protect them. It’s one of the reasons BTS and armys are so close, why armys are so protective of them, why they do everything with the thought of armys first. That bond was forged in hell.

The fan who told you Suga HAD to change his name for solo edgy, not in BTS's image works may be giving you a fan made opinion. RM on his first mixtape had many nasty, expletive laden works and he did not have to change his Rap Monster name. The 2013 and 2014 Cyphers which were on BTS albums were anything but clean Idol works. I think Suga wanted the separation having a second name provides so he can express very personal things such as in The Last or What Do You Think? In fact I can recall the Big Hit Chairman Bang Si Hyuk pulling RM aside and telling him to stop holding back and speak his mind. So had? I don't know about that, and I am sure that fan may not know for sure either.

BTS is a 7 member group who is now in their 10th year with a 350+ track discography largely written and produced by the members themselves conjoined by their inhouse producers. The leader 'RM' has 210+ credits making him the youngest most credited artist in Korea and the rest of the members are not far behind. BTS is known for being extremely profound at articulating what they introspect and composing it into the sound they with their artistic knowledge believe will deliver the emotion of their lyricsm. They began with their roots in hiphop but have experimented their way into currently having above 10+ genres in their discography with the main being hiphop, pop, r&b and electronic, but majority of the time its a fusion of these genres, or their subgenres. Like latin pop, old school hiphop with boom bap, rap rock, dance pop, ballads, emo hiphop, jazz etc. Since they articulate so well, their music is very human oriented adressing extreme mental health issues (all they way from comforting, motivating, to eery delivery with raw mvs that youtube asks for viewers discretion), sociopolitical commentary etc. Their discography shows the growth from school boys to the tribulations of youth, to addressing temptation, to reaching maturity, to loving onself, to finding the core essence of the mind (i work in the field of psychology and i have yet to find an artist that is as profound as bts in accurately potraying psychological themes) to fighting the pandemic to now doing solo albums as each of the bts members complete their mandatory military. They will come back as a group in 2025!

our guys are so sweet!!!: RM who cares so much and makes such moving speeches; Jin who said he used to speak more candidly but then when he saw that talking about being sad made fans sad so after that he only wanted to speak in a way to make fans happy; Suga who handmade 300 gifts for fans for a fan event and who cares so much about fans' mental health; Jhope always wants to cheer others, is "an angel" according to the guys and looking at his birth chart he is absolutely as sweet person; Jimin not only has an angelic voice but he's such a caretaker/nurturer and animals love him, RM said he's always putting others before himself; V is so down-to-earth and has the purest heart according to Jimin; Jungkook even after they achieved great success would help workers clean venue afterwards and is extra sensitive and the guys say he cries the most.

The scene on the street passing out pamphlets was from a reality show they did in the states a year after they debuted. It isn’t how they started. They won 6 rookie of the year awards in their first year (2013) in South Korea prior to doing American Hustle the reality show they filmed in 2014. The concert they promoted in the streets from that show was part of a challenge at the end of the series.

15:00 Bang PD was impressed by him and signed him on the spot. The group was formed around him, but since they kept finding more and more talent they rebranded what was going to be strictly a hip hop group into an idol group. The first to arrive in 2010 were RM, SUGA and J-Hope (who signed first into the agency, having such spectacular resume, but not for a specific project so not first as Bangtan). Usually the leader should be the oldest, but in this case he's just in the middle, having 3 members older than him and 3 members younger.

The journey down the BTS rabbit hole is vast and a long one because they worked REALLY hard to get to where they are today. Their dedication to their work and their fanbase is truly inspiring and motivational. Our love for them goes beyond their music, it stems more from who they are and what they represent to us ARMY personally, both as a group and individuals. To us, they are seven AMAZING individuals who has blessed, saved, and impacted our lives in our current time and space for real. To a lot of us, this is not a passing fad but a lifelong connection and love. BTS and ARMY is a family. We love and support each other with a common goal and dedication, to change, share and make this world a better place than when we found it, even if it's just a little bit. It's not their fault that they have smooth and soft skin, it's not their fault that they have a sophisticated style. As they are different from us and we are surprised, so they are surprised by our difference from them. The main thing is what kind of people they are, the main thing is that after so much fame they can lie on the ground and bow down and say thank you, which they have done more than once, the main thing is how they work, how much sweat and energy they spend to bring us pure and sincere messages. Now you can re-examine your first reaction and understand how the army feels when they are judged without knowledge. Welcome to the big world of BTS...💜

I found BTS when my mental state was really down. The songs they create are unlike most idols or artists who only discuss love for others, their songs teach us to appreciate ourselves, understand ourselves, accept ourselves and love ourselves because if we want to be happy with people around us, We have to be happy first. When we're motivated by positive things, we'll also give ourselves positive energy to people around us. For haters, just look at one positive thing about BTS and the army and you'll see another positive thing. "BORAHAE" And my bias is Suga or Agust D, the story of his life struggling with depression really inspires me that I can rise just like his even though the bitter memory is unlikely to disappear.

To Commenters: as a new fan i have only heard about k-pop fan toxicity, but never have seen it in action until the heated replies in this thread. As RM says. Do you! The message of this song is to not try to categorize him (or BTS) or do it to yourselves. As individuals, we can all choose for ourselves what we like and what we believe so as to whether BTS are k-pop or not or whether other k-pop bands are better, or if you listen to only BTS or also listen other groups, that comes down to personal preference. Do you and don't worry about what someone else says or does. If you want to bicker, then do it with FACTS not opinions. Whether BTS os the best or not is irrelevant. What is irrefutable and quantifiable is that they have the largest fanbase in the world, brought in 4.6 billion dollars to korea's GPD, spoke at the UN. Has earned more than 25 guiness world record titles. Have outperformed all other korean acts in group and solo sales categories, are the only korean act to receive the hwagwan orders of cultural merit which allowed them to push out their military service (i may be wrong but i dont think any other korean act has received this-even though all the larger agencies applied to have extensions for their artists), and recently the government joined with Hybe to plan and execute the 10th anniversary festa in seoul and lit up 7 of the major landmarks in purple around the city as well as the massive firework show off the han river bridge--other k-pop bands have had 10th anniversaries and there was nothing like this from the community or government--400,000 fans attended festa and tourism increases 15% for the two week period. These are not subjective opinions but facts. So there is definitely something different about BTS. However, you personally don't have to like them better. For me, i find their lyricism, prolific use of symbolism, inclusion of references to literature, the arts, heritage and psychology, as well as their poweful messaging makes them stand out from tge crowd. However, that is just my opinion. If you love BTS and their message then spread love and acceptance for others, especially to those who are different from you and have opposing opinioms. If we just do that the world will be a better place.

20:50 I don’t think Agust D is used to “talk about things they’re not allowed to in BTS” or to do with image. After all Suga has some fairly dark and sweary songs within BTS. Also RM and J-Hope have hard hitting solo songs outside BTS and don’t change their stage names. Suga himself recently said that Agust D is a persona he has used to explore angry, frustrated, dark feelings of his youthful self.

according to Yoongi (SUGA) himself, AGUST D was born because he was mad, he had so many ugly feeling inside him, even before their debut, that’s why mostly of his solo songs/mixtape/album as AGUST D have dark themes or concepts, he use this persona to showcase the struggles he faces as an idol and normal person; i don’t know if you guys already know but this year he dropped the last album to end this AGUST D trilogy: AGUST D (1st mixtape) D-2 (2nd mixtape) and D-DAY (1st full album + world tour), with D-DAY he is putting a closure to all those ugly, sad and angry feeling he felt as a teenager and young adult, so, we ARMY, are very expecting to what he is going to do now bc quoting by "im older and i don’t have more things to get angry at"; maybe he return from his service more wise, wanting to talk about his life as an adult now, but who knows, the only thing i know is that we’re here waiting for them 🫡

@@DANDJREACT Sadly, no. When you wanna reference a kpop group you do actually have to name each individual group, because that is how their mainstream media works. There *are* ways to specify the genres by themselves though, it's the same genres that we have but with a "k" in front and whichever soloist or band will come up for you (most of the time they aren't kpop groups, but some of the songs may still show up in the searches). And as a side note, Japanese mainstream music works in a similar way. If you want a specific genre in Japanese just put a "j" in front of a pre-existing genre name. Edit: There's technically 2 different version of "kpop" because kpop in general is the industry itself and then you would have to add a "sub-genre" at the end in order to find the actual genre of music. Most kpop bands do completely different genres of music.

Guess I got a lot of learning to do. I’m sure I’ll still piss off a lot of fans in the process of me trying to learn all of this. I have been a dedicated fan of BTS since their inception, and it has been an incredible journey to witness their growth. It is truly astonishing to fathom their immense success and global impact. One significant factor that sets BTS apart and contributes to their legendary status is their remarkable humility. This humble nature has played a vital role in shaping their trajectory. The reason I remain an ardent fan to this day is because of their wholesome character. Despite their extraordinary talent, they remain grounded and genuine, which is something I admire greatly. I have come across numerous other groups and artists who may possess exceptional talent, but their lack of character makes it difficult for me to support them wholeheartedly.

@@DANDJREACT When encountering individuals who make derogatory comments about BTS without understanding their journey, such as labeling them as feminine or superficially dismissing their achievements, I perceive such individuals as shallow. It is important to remember that judgments based solely on outward appearances or limited knowledge fail to capture the depth of a person's experiences and character. This principle extends beyond BTS and applies to our interactions with others in our daily lives. It is crucial to cultivate an open mind and refrain from making hasty and shallow judgments, instead seeking a broader understanding of individuals and their unique journeys.

BTS paved the way : Work ethics, interaction with their fans, give their 💯 at award shows, concerts. The OG of : Run BTS, Bon Voyage, In the Soop etc. Now, all the other bands have their own version of those shows and also copy the work ethics. I only stan BTS because they are unique, true to themselves, humble, their songs are comforting, encouraging. Early on, they tackled all the issues of society. Suga created his alter ego Agust D to release his anger towards people who keeps hating on them with no apparent reason. Eventhough he’s raw & unfiltered in BTS music, his solos were more vulgar & no fear hitting back on those who hurt, use & bash them. But now he said he’s more at peace so Agust D might not be coming back in the near future.

KZfaq didn't like the length of my comment, so I am posting it in several pieces. I hope some of this information is interesting or useful to you. ************** Notes Part 1 Fun fact about Yoongi/Suga's underground rap name Gloss. His name, Yoongi, means pale or shining, or glossy. His mother named him that because he was so pale skinned even as a newborn. So his original rap name was based on that. Re 20:35 Yes, he used a different artistic names for his solo work to differentiate from Suga, which he uses both for BTS and for his work for other artists as a producer. But it was not because what he wanted to do was not "allowed." They were definitely in control of their musical direction from the beginning, and they can certainly go hard in their group work, like their Cypher Series, or Nevermind. It was more that he had very personal things to work through, sometimes explosive, sometimes angry, but always personally specific and emotional. He needed to tell those stories alone, and he wanted to be able to represent these things as a separate persona to his regular life as a person (Yoongi) and as an artist (Suga.) Agust D is like his therapy persona, and he has hinted that he may be retiring it after his recent sold out world tour, having confronted and healed the things he needed to and being ready to move on. In fact, the tour promotional images showed two personas, in red and blue, on the posters. They slowly merged into one image of him in purple over the course of the tour as posters and banners went up ahead of each concert. 22:14 They didn't break off to do solo work later. They were doing solo work the whole time. Their 10 solo albums have come out over the years along side their work as BTS. Some of their solo work predates their debut as BTS. Also, Yoongi is so well known for his mental health struggles and his candid support and advice to others that Suran (another S Korean artist) called him for support when she was having writer's block and depression. He called her in to his studio and they looked through some of his massive catalog of unreleased music and she found a demo she liked and he produced it for her into a song. That is the song (Wine/If I Get Drunk Tonight) that you see him receiving an award for here. 23:13 Jimin feels so strongly about this song of Suga's, Nevermind, and it's massage about confronting and not hiding from your fears and challenges, that he took the lyric about engraving it across your chest and did just that. He has a large tattoo of Nevermind across his right ribcage. 23:16 Yoongi is shy and reserved but feels things very deeply. He has also said he didn't get enough love as a child, and that this made him cautious and afraid to show his feelings. He also was emulating his father, who was very emotionally closed off. He fought with his family a lot, largely about his passion for music. His father was particularly opposed. He related a story once about how one day when he was visiting his family and in the car with his father, his father told him "Don't be like me. Be better than me." and that impacted him greatly. He also healed a tremendous amount from his art, from living with his affectionate brothers for 11 years, and from his relationship with ARMY. He says he is a much healthier person now and expressing his feelings comes easier. 25:00 Did you catch that this was SUGA on the piano, playing one of his own compositions? A lot of people miss it. He is amazing on piano. 25:54 Hoseok/j-hope is the third oldest (below Jin and Suga.) He was also the first one signed by Big Hit, but was not immediately put into BTS. Thus RM was the first member of BTS, but they did already have j-hope signed under contract to the agency. He was signed as a dancer but continued to live at home in Gwangju, because Big Hit was so small they had no dance studio nor teachers. So for 8 months he continued to study dance in Gwangju before Big Hit called him up to Seoul to move into the dorm. Because he was in a street dance crew as an elementary schooler, he often includes child dancers in his choreography for solo work (see Chicken Noodle Soup Video and his Lollapalooza concert.) He both wants to call back to his early days of dance, and help lift up young dancers. He was largely self taught in the beginning and could not afford much for lessons. Sometimes he could only watch lessons and then practice alone. His father did not approve, (a common theme with BTS members) but his mother took on extra jobs and went into debt supporting his passion for dance. He has a song dedicated to her support of him called MAMA (which , as a mother to sons their ages, always makes me cry) and you hear a piece of it at 28:27 I think j-hope might have come out of the womb dancing..... 34:13 I am sure you figured this out by now, but the dates on their introductions are their birthdates. They were all born in the 90s. They are late 20s to early 30s now. But also, yes, Koreans are famous for their skincare.

Notes Part 2 39:12 Although it says 15, Jungkook actually joined as a 13 year old. He was still in middle school when he signed with Big Hit and moved into the dorm with his brothers to train. They ate, slept and lived music and dance. Members attended his Middle School graduation and his High School Entrance ceremony (pictured with yellow uniforms) and his High School graduation. Jin was often the one to get up early and make breakfast for the three youngest members (the Maknae line, maknae meaning youngest pronounced "mock-neigh") Jin also made their lunches and got them to school in the mornings. The reason he says 15 years old is because he was using S Korean age counting. Up until this year they have used an age counting system where you are considered one year old at birth and another year older at the new year, even if your birthday is at the end of December. So you could be a few days old and be "two years old." Now they have switched to global age counting. At Debut in June 2013 their ages were (by global standards): Jin - 20 Suga - 20 j-hope - 19 RM - 18 Jimin - 17 V - 17 Jungkook - 15 All the members were signed by Big Hit as trainees between 2010 and 2012 as they worked to build a group. There were about a dozen or so other trainees who eventually left the training program when they decided it was not for them, a couple became producers at Big Hit, the others' contracts were let go when they finalized the group lineup because Big Hit could not afford to keep them on for other projects and had to concentrate all their meager resources on BTS. First to sign was j-hope as a 17 year old, but still staying in Gwangju for 8 months to study dance and not earmarked for BTS specifically yet. Then RM signed as a 16 year old and became the core which they decided to build a group around. Then Suga came as an 18 year old. They all three signed with Big Hit in 2010. Then in 2011 they signed Jin at 18 years old as a university freshman and Jungkook who was a 13 year old middle schooler who tried out for a Korean Amercian Idol type show and attracted the attention of a lot of heavy hitting agencies. But he went online and found video of RM rapping and was so star struck that he decided he wanted to be wherever that guy was and signed with Big Hit. Also in 2011, they signed 15 year old Taehyung (V) but they kept him a secret because he was so good looking and multitalented. Big Hit was broke and was trying everything they could to build buzz around their new group, since they could not afford much advertising and were suffering industry lockout. This is also why they started making KZfaq vlogs and things. The rappers, the core members of the group, were not considered to have the looks required of Idols and received a lot of hate over their looks. They were called "The Ugly Idol Group" early on. But Mr Bang wanted to build a group based on talent, not looks. So they wanted to reveal V as a surprise at their debut and help get buzz and excitement from that, which did have the desired effect. It was hard on him though, because the others were already doing vlogs and videos and starting to get attention and fan mail while he had to hide. It made him feel not just left out, but sort of superfluous. Then lastly, at the end of 2012, just 6 months before their debut, Big Hit signed Jimin, who was 16. The short training time most of them had was very unusual for the Idol industry, especially Jimin. Six months was an unheard of short time. Jungkook was also unusually young at debut. Most were not considered to have idol looks (particularly the three rappers and Jimin) and were from a broke company with few connections and opportunities and which had never trained a group before and was learning as they went. The company was mortgaged to the eyeballs to pay for training and desperately needed the boys to debut when they did. But they still did not start making enough money to actually pay the boys for a couple of years after their debut. It was just room and board and work 24/7. The company poured everything back into training, producing music, video production, touring costs, etc and whatever the boys could make was keeping the lights on at Big Hit. At one point they performed as backup dancers at a mall fashion show. They were ragtag in every sense. 45:30 Re: V's accidental audition - The company had come to his Dance Hagwan. Hagwans are private schools which teach various subjects as additional to regular schools. They might be related to core subjects like tutoring schools or, as in this case, for performance arts. S Korea pushes their students exceptionally hard and these after school "cram schools" are common and so is a 16 hour school day for kids. S Korea also has the highest suicide rate in the 10-19 age range in the world. Taehyung/V was a lower level, younger student. He is passionate about music and dance and had been pursuing it on his own for years. The older students were trying out and some younger students were observing from the sidelines because they hoped to do this same thing some day. V had not been at the school that long. But the scouts from Big Hit got a look at him with his striking good looks and said "Can we see that kid try out?" that's why his saxophone was nearby for him to grab when he said he played his saxophone for them, because they were at his music school. 52:30 Jimin is a rare, natural Counter Tenor.

Notes Part 3 58:31 BTS was the first idol group to do the KZfaq vlogging, show behind the scenes, and share so much of themselves with fans, the good and the difficult, strengths and weaknesses. It was not, and still is not common practice. In fact, the opposite was the case, usually there was a mystique built up around groups to make them seem glamourous and untouchable. BTS was the opposite: deeply human imperfect misfits who were brutally honest and deeply intimate with their fans and with each other, both in their communication and in their music, from the very beginning. Even the personal sharing they do at concerts (ARMY Time) is something personal and unique to their relationship with ARMY. They are so close to ARMY that fans sent them food and necessities in their early years when they were struggling even to get enough to eat. They also wrote their own music from the start and have always had messages of deep substance and meaning, which was unusual in their industry. Now, many things they did, like an online presence and album unboxing and album storylines, etc are copied in the industry, with mixed results. These guys are lightning in a bottle, and we are not likely to see their like again. The combination of them is a miracle. There are some videos on Trends BTS Started if you are interested to see the extent of their influence already after just 10 years in the industry.....it's massive. S Korea recently put them on their postage stamps, which is a first in their history for living artists. People will try to claim there are lots of artists like them or that they are not that different, but it's just not true The proof is in the pudding, as they say. You can see how they stand apart. And, indeed, as others have said, many BTS fans are not fans of other K-Pop groups. That's just a fact, make of it what you will. 1:02:00 Just to be clear, that is ARMY giving back, not BTS. These are all fan organized charity projects and fan organized tracking of charity projects. BTS is very charitable also, though often doesn't publicize it and we only find out later when press or organizations themselves tell. ARMY follows their lead. The mission statement of Big Hit is "Music and Artist for Healing" and BTS's goal is to spread love and healing around the world through music and make the world a better place. ARMY is on board for the mission. 1:04:00 That was an ARMY organized project that we got their stage team in on. They agreed to help and put the counter up for when to start the song and played the backing track for ARMY to sing. That's 90,000 British fans singing to them in Korean. BTS was shocked and deeply moved. 1:05:00 Yes, Taylor is an ARMY and a professional video editor. How does ARMY know all these things about BTS??? We're not spies. They are just open books. They have told us all these things, and now we have their new bestseller biography out to fill in any holes in our knowledge as well. And just for statistics sake, I am a 50something GenX mom and educator with sons BTS ages and not really a fan of other K-Pop. My husband (a GenX nuclear engineer) and I were both 80s era metalheads and are now both ARMY for life. Borahae! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Love this reaction and all your well-spoken comments throughout. I love seeing others start to understand just why BTS are so loved, and why they're such a phenomenon... that they're not just some shallow 'boy band' built on pretty looks and flashy lowest-common-denominator mass appeal, but on being authentic and real, always striving as artists and developing themselves. They can't be replicated -- because their fans genuinely love them as people above everything else. They've always approached fame and success as something they have to earn, through honest and persistent work. It's incredible that one group has all this talent and heart, that they had such an inspiring underdogs-to-industry kings back story, that they love each other like family (they themselves feel like they were destined to be together) and that each one of them is so darn lovable and endearing. It's also a beautiful thing to see how they balance each other's relative strengths and weaknesses. There's just something extra special about these seven human beings.

I believe the members chose him to lead. But im sure him being smart, and a great communicator helped a lot in this decision.

In the recent Suwitchta(i don't know how to write the name correctly) , Suga's interview show, Jin, JHope and Suga were saying how BTS is not a group where one member did really good , but a group were all members worked really hard. (not that others artists not work hard but a lot of times not all the members have the same or equal talent) And i think that, besides their talent another of the why's they have so much international fame is their personality, humbleness, hard work and work ethics. I'm a BTS ARMY only. Is OK to be a kpop stand, I'm not, and is not for a lack of trying. I actually have tried with several different groups but i still only like some songs from some groups (Twice, TxT, Black Pink, Jesi,Seventeen ) so i tried and followed the same blue print i accidentally made with BTS and it didn't work( i accidentally stumbled upon a Run BTS episode while looking for something to watch and i kept coming back for months until I watched the last i could find at the time, at the time KZfaq was trying to recommend to me music videos which I just ignored until I looked closely and i realized that i knew some of the members[J-Hope and RM] and I decided to watch the video and that's how I find out that I knew all of them and they were actually singers and that also i like that song [Fire, Bultaoreune] so I kept on watching all the KZfaq BTS recommendations) there's something about BTS members and their music that calls to me. I'm not exaggerating, I'm 45 , Mexican, old Latin music is beautiful but i have never become a super fan of a group or singer. I being a BTS ARMY for 3 years and with other artists I don't feel the need to listen to their older songs, i mean i like some Adele, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Pink, Coldplay... songs but I don't feel the need to go and find about all their discography. In the other hand with BTS i was hooked and every day was comeback day for me for a time 😂until i listen to most of their music (I'm sure I still haven't heard everything) and i enjoy everything! But yeah, I'm happy you guys stopped with the assumptions and really tried to see beyond the western toxic masculinity mentality (not trying to insult anyone, but the reality is that our society is still pretty close minded and judgmental) hope that being exposed to different things from different cultures and countries helps us to be more emphatic and open minded (again not trying to insult anyone, but i find that this last 5 years since I started to watch shows from other parts of the world, not only from Mexico,USA or Central and South America, but actually from Asia and Europe (so far) has helped me to become more interested on/ in other cultures. 🤟💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇲🇽🤟

Britney, if you're into lyrics bts are actually known for their lyrics, I can list some songs I recommend checking out :) (AF TAEHYUNG is a KZfaq channel which has all of these songs well translated so you can listen and read them at the same time) *Blue and Grey* - a slower song about the depression and loneliness they felt especially at the beginning of the pandemic *Dis-ease* - a funk and hiphop track about their obsession with work and how they depend on it, released during the pandemic when they were forced to rest a bit *Let Go* - another beautiful slower song which was meant to be their goodbye song for army when they were struggling mentally and considered quitting *Young Forever* - a song about the emptiness they feel when off stage and fear of losing what they have, so they wish they could stay young forever to never lose everything (this one has an mv) *Tomorrow* - a rock inspired track about the struggles of todays youth and how they're just living to get by *Snooze* - not bts but Agust D/Suga, it's my current favorite song. Suga didn't have anyone to guide him or support him when he got into music, so now he has taken it upon himself to be that person for upcoming musicians, this song is for them. It's absolutely beautiful, it's the one I recommend the most. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qriTgMx7zr_egps.html (af Taehyung doesn't have a translation for this song yet, so I linked another translation video) Idk if you will see this but I hope you can check these songs out, they're some of my favorites lyrics wise so I wanted to share

@@DANDJREACT BTS are one of the rare artists who are actually better live than some of their music videos. For excellent live performances with well done English subtitles I recommend KZfaq channel Enjoy BTS More. Don’t use lyric videos who often do not give accurate translations! Thank you for paying attention and pausing during the video! 💜 from another Dope Older ARMY! 💜

51 year old ARMY from South Africa. Hate to bring in politics but just my views of the reasons of xenophobia in America. Usually I dont have a good view of Americans, especially when your former president called Covid 'China Flu' and created more Asian hate. I am appreciative of people like yourselves that are open and welcoming to different cultures. Thank you for the respectful reaction 💜💜💜
