Each ML140 cost $45 With 4 of them ($180) I can buy an 24" industrial electric fan, removed side window. Then blow the Hurricane Katrina into the case.

Tip: Set your intakes to 1000rpm and your exhaust to 750rpm (in the BIOS), job done. Don't worry about fan curves etc. they're not worth it, the noise of the fans ramping up and down is more annoying than them being noisy in the first place.

Most people are put off by prices but upon closer inspection not all cheap fans are "crap". My advice is look for formerly premium and rebranded products. Alpenföhn's last-but-one "quiet 2" series were made for their coolers, but eventually sold as single 120/140mm's. May not have LEDs but they are £6, come colour coded and feature zero noise rubber bolts that you only tend to find on the £25-30 ranges.

what ive learnt from my new build is that when it comes to fans apart from if its high airflow or high pressure... nothing else matters that much... there's an obsession with how "quiet" things are but these often suffer from less effective cooling for the sake of low noise personally i don't care how loud my PC is as long as its cool

I bought Corsair fans purely for the LEDs, and then like a n00b I accidentally had one of them plugged into a header with no voltage control so one of my fans was running at 100%, so I thought I'd just bought some ridiculously noisy fans. That's all sorted out now though and I'm really happy with my decision to upgrade the fans.

Maglev bearings (Sunon Vapo)? I used 4 of these in a build recently and was impressed. The fans are heavy and solid and I prefer the tonal noise of a heavier fan. They seem to have less vibrations that feed through. I don't see how any of these rubber dampening systems work.. the rubber is way to hard to do any good.

A 280mm and 360mm radiator don't change fan sizes other than the only 2 you mentioned. A 280mm rad uses 2x 140mm. Hope you knew that and just misspoke. Also most cases require Static Pressure, in fact I have not seen a case that can use Air Flow optimized fans unless it is a test bench. A simple filter, honeycomb, or tight space cooling works better with Static Pressure, this is why Corsair moved to only having Static Pressure optimized fans. It has been tested quite a bit.

I do own a i5-2400 and GTX 1050 Mini. This motherboard and CPU are old for you most probably (7 years from being bought already) so I would like to know: I do have a rear fan 120mm, another one in side 120mm (which brings air flow to the lower part of system were the GPU actually is) and another one with in-take airflow from the lower part (120mm). So actually do I need to buy a new case for better aiflow and eventually getting more fans in it or is that good enough for airflow in my current system ? My case is a bit old already, it's ATX form factor and it does have the old design where you can introduce your PSU in the upper part of it (even though the PSU isn't a generic one and it does have his lower fan to get airflow inside her). Would appreciate a lot your help.

The run of the mill PC I gamed on back in high school only had 2 fan speeds, moderate, and LOUD. It regularly switched between them every few minutes, and I thought nothing of it at the time, other than it was a little annoying. Now that I'm into building PCs and tinkering with them, I think "How could I have been so ignorant and complacent?"

I get it that you're sponsored by Corsair.. but why didn't you consider comparing them to the high-end market-leader Noctuas which quite literally have the best rpm/cfm/noise values of all fans. Might aswell purchase one of the small pcie slot fan-controllers from Lian-Li and do some noise-tests.. PWM isn't a necessity either unless you want to sync all case fans to your cpu which doesn't make much sense really

Unless your system is running at max performance for long periods (2 hours and upwards) then no, haing top of the line case fans is not worth it. Your system will most likely run fine without any case fans at all if you are just a casual user or even a hardcore gamer. As long as your CPU, GPU, and Power Supply have decent cooling nothing bad will happen.
