While I generally agree, I don't see why you shouldn't spend the money on stupid things if you already have everything you need. For instance, people who live in a rented apartment or want to move out shouldn't get infrastructure items or bolt a projector in a room.

It's $5k and a computer costs like $2k at most unless you get something like a 4090 (or whatever the equivilent AMD one is).. It just means there's 3k of random stuff they're going to buy. I don't know that a 3D printer is any more "adult" than a neon sign.

Linus always balks at price tags. Then he gets the justification spiel and buys it anyway. Just look at all the stuff Chaos Alex has bought for the workshop with Linus's money. It's one of the things that makes him a great... was gonna say boss, but I guess just owner now. He'll complain that a thing is expensive, but he gets that quality gear costs money for a reason. And if they can explain how it will improve workflow, they'll get approval for just about anything.

The new intro is epiiiiiiic(or should i say EPYC). Also the video and the upgrade are epic as well but it looks like Alex took a chomp out of AMD's money but it was JUST $5000 it really looks like it costs more. Keep up the good work Linus.
