Don't get all butt hurt over the title...it's just a joke. Anyway, this guy was pretty decent and just needs a few tweaks here and there. Maybe he'll watch this and reach out for a 1 on 1 with me or maybe he already knows who I am and hates me lol Pretty much every time I ride I have a GoPro running, like a dashcam just in case...so I just happened to catch this rider :) MotoJitsu.com/store for my books, app, merch, etc. :)

That's the style of bike that's getting guys in their 20s-30s into harley dealerships again. Tons of ACTUAL performance parts are getting made now for fxrs, dynas, and softails like the one in the video. The mid-sized Harleys actually do pretty well with some bolt-on parts, and when set up, they're pretty much on-par with a lot sport touring bikes. Give them a look, they're getting more popular by the day! Love the videos!

I have a Sportster with a built s&s 1250 and it's an absolute blast to ride, I also have a 1992 FXR Super Glide that is super fun to ride also but the 80ci motor has never been opened up and it has just over 50 000 miles at this time. NO, I'm not a "Harleys are the only cool bikes guy", and I wave to everyone! I also have a 2009 GSXR 600, a 2020 kawasaki z400 a 1984 Kawasaki Spectre z550, a 1983 Honda Magna 750, a 2015 Suzuki DR650 and a 2012 Yamaha YZ125. I love everything on two wheels, but there is a big misconception that a Harleys can't handle or rip, sure they aren't set up like that from the factory for the most part (that is starting to change which is nice), but the aftermarket allows HD riders to do all kinds of cool stuff to their bikes. Sure, you can buy a fast bike that handles incredible for cheaper, but if you want a cool looking bike to travel on you can leave it stock and ride many reliable miles (another misconception, Harleys last if they aren't modified or fucked with, but even a properly modified harley can last a long time) or if you want a lowrider that can be done, a drag bike? No problem. A track bike? That can be done! Flat track or off road? That's no problem. The list of avenues to take is endless. I have a few videos of my Sportster from when I got it, to what it is now. It started life as a 1200cc with 67hp, it's now a 1250 with just over 100hp (doesn't sound like much but trust me it rips), I have done suspension, brakes, clutch and built it to handle much better than stock form. These bikes aren't for everyone but they aren't only for old farts either hahaha

Idk why people get butt hurt over these titles or statements. I'm a Harley loyalist due to my upbringing. But with me out riding with these circles your dead on. There are alot of Harley riders with little skill just skating by. It's actually scary. My father is one of them. It's some weekend warrior Harley riders, some old school and people over riding bikes not meant for that style of riding. My father can't be told or taught anything bc he's rode his whole life. Yet he has issues with the most basic maneuvers. I myself take every training that comes near me. I'm no expert but I'm always looking to improve(on and off road). This lad in the video is part of the new culture taking over Harley. A bunch of younger riders who grew up around harleys that were into skateboards, bmx and dirtbikes. We appreciate the culture but are building harleys that perform. There's more then loud pipes and drag racing. That's why you have the performance baggers, softails and dynas. I don't say this to be arrogant or better then but the stigma with Harley is changing slowly. The dude in the video is proof. Props to him for being safe, skilled and respectful.

Good observation. I was terrified in corners and scraped everywhere until I took the Total Control Intermediate course, and my cornering missteps were explained and corrected. I was amazed by how much more control I had just by shifting the center of gravity a little by leaning into the turns, I don’t mean hanging off the seat either, just shifting my torso a little.

@killdozer3464
@killdozer3464 Жыл бұрын
Ground clearance can be fixed when you do a suspension upgrade. I ride my harleys the same way I have ridden my standards and sport bikes. First thing I do is suspension upgrades, then performance work. My dyna and softails corner like butter now. I ride them hard, and the only thing that drags is the pegs. On a bagger though its a different story.

The instructor explained but i don't remember exactly. It had something to do with the throttle being on the right side as well as the front and back brakes. I no longer notice it. I think it's a mental thing when you are new to riding, but everyone in my class said the same thing. A lot of low speed maneuvering helps alot.

It's actually harder to slow down and accelerate out on a harley cruiser like that compared to other motorcycles. with the exception of the new rev-max engines (panam sportster-s, etc.) . Harley cruisers a great offf the line and getting up to 50-60mph but horrible from 50 -70. that's my experience anyway. I can understand why that rider was trying to carry a bit more corner speed. my only issue is when you're at the point if you have to lean in to make your corner and not scrape parts, you have very little left in your safety envelope to get out of a messy surprise. my .02.

Just goes to show that the average bike (or a less than average bike from a performance perspective) can outride a lot of riders. Always funny to me that Cruiser riders tend to be some of the lesser skilled riders on the road - given that even a Softail (let alone a bagger) requires a lot of skill to ride well. Due to many factors your body position and inputs have to be a lot more calculated and deliberate than sportier bikes in my experience - which can be difficult for a new rider who doesn’t approach riding as a craft to hone long term.

@@kissarmy7310 It's not as camera-strict as it is in Aussie-land. Depends on where you ride is what speed enforcement you may encounter and that just requires being familiar with the roads. Having an open mind to other perspectives about riding, will lead you to realize that there are very skilled riders who don't treat the public roads as personal race tracks, and riding a bike capable of going around the track on a public road might be considered boring because it is too capable to provide a thrill at stay out of jail speeds.
