How was your experience with your ruleset? Can you share any important lessons learned, especially with the longsword pools judging format (done by fellow competitor)? Any other lessons learned regarding judging hit validity and quality?

Hi there! I am actually working on a video on the topic, but work and other HEMA events ate up that time. A few notes: 1. We were worried the system was complex and the organization will fall apart. It actually went surprisingly well and we finished an hour early. Some people had up to 13 fights, everyone had at least 9. 2. Judging quality in general was nothing amazing due to, well, everyone being a judge. But I would say it was still above average than many other HEMA tournaments I've been part of. 3. Judging satisfaction was quite high, not because the judging was great, but because everyone experienced both sides of the coin. When you judged 15 minutes before, and you know how hard it actually is, you are much more tolerant of judging mistakes. You gain a different appreciation of judging. As for hit quality specifically - that's also a topic that kinda requires a whole video. Lets say I am happy with the standard we set, but communicating it should be better next time.

Question-can you get a black card just by getting yellow cards that produce red cards? In the definitions of red card it's tated that if you get two same yellow card offences,or three different ones you can get a red card. Then it also says that for any yellow card offence after a red card you get a red card. Then in the definitions of black card it notes that getting a second red card for the same offence or receiving a third card for different offences gets you a black card. So if you got three differnt yellow cards you get a red card. Then any two yellow cards get you two red cards,which totals three different red cards which equals one black card,right? Im not complaining about the ruleset,just checking if I understood properly.

Yep, which is why black card are not immediate DQ. You can achieve them with consistent and dedicated minor rule breaking :)
