Good job. I learnt a lot. I always thought 1902 was the first eruption recorded. What I noticed however, is that everytime it erupts the time span shortens

good history of the volcano. I was there in 71-72. The crater was half full of boiling water with a large rock island in the middle slowly grinding and groaning. On a cross island 4 day hike from west to east we saw 4 parrots and miles of tropical jungle . in the "elfin forest" on the eastern top ridges we saw the volcano looming large to the north. True the hurricanes and eruptions have smashed the island , but as here in upstate NY, it always grow back.

If I live there I would choose the far south part of the island - far away from the volcano, so I don't have to rebuild my house every time it erupts.

The effects of the 1902 eruption continued into 1903, so they are seen as one and not as two separate events.

There is a lack of live streaming footage and datas of this active volcano, release to the public... why ? Bad for tourism maybe..

Never say Carib is Indian Carib is close to CHINES THE British call the Caribbean West Indies we are not West Indians We are West of the Continent of Africa India is, Hundreds of miles from Africa
@herbertcourtesie2459
@herbertcourtesie2459 3 жыл бұрын
@ Mr Captain Carib comes from Caribe (meaning agresive) in Taino (peaceful) native language as per Spaniard records from the Española (Hispaniola) Island , home of Haiti and Dominican Rep. The West and East Indies denomination by the Spanish comes from the fact that Columbus sailed west from Europe searching for India and the Spice Islands.

@@herbertcourtesie2459 ACCEPT all you said No reason for the British to call the the * Caribbean West lndies When the British could have called the area's North America Continent Regardless of columbous sail west
