The Scriptures record that after the Last Supper, they sang a hymn and went to the Mount of Olives.
Abide With Me, although not a classic Easter hymn, is one of my favourite hymns, especially in dark days. I've wept and prayed with this hymn in days of heartbreaking sorrow so I understand Jesus' cry for his Father's presence on the cross.
As we commemorate the crucifixion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, I imagine that it would have a great accompaniment to our Lord's cry on the cross, "Eloi! Eloi! Lema sabacthani? Which being interpreted means, 'My God! My God! Why hast thou forsaken me?
I put my vocals to the first and last stanza. As you watch, I pray that the presence of the Lord encases you in His warm embrace.
