Ah I remember the days of testing who’s army of peasants are the best and what armies can a single Spartan hoplite unit on a bridge beat and if berserkers can beat armoured war elephants. And of course, dogs vs pigs

Rooting for the Germans from the start (my favourite faction). Got to say, was slightly surprised by the results. Also massive F for that faction (you will know which one :p ) that got utterly wrecked

Germania is definitely strongest but were too aggressive I suppose. Massive F indeed!

If I had to guess why the faction you control tends to win, it might be the AI playing a bit more cautiously. In this battle, the Gauls were content to just hang out on the hill and let everyone else murder each other. Also, the Germans definitely did most of the work but got let down by their guys having pretty poor defense.

It does seem like it runs off of a different AI... that or player 1 technically being the attacker in a battle (though weirdly they're being defensive...) Germans were easily the best but just did too much to beat the campers 😅

Cool video, for whatever reason I just thought the Britons would do it (overestimated the woad warriors). 12:32 don't think I've seen just 'Victory' before- thought it was always said heroic/clear/close victory

Woad warriors are pretty cool, but they have awful defense (it's like 2 skill, 5 shield, no armor, worse than a warband). So they can cause some damage on the charge but they die quickly.

@SawedOffLaser Yeah thanks. Must admit it's been a few years since I played as the Britons, so dumb me was probably just thinking 2 turns must equal good😅. Thanks as well for letting me know about the low defence, just checked on the game and they have 4 total (2 skill & 2 shield but like you said 0 armour). I guess they made them 2 turns because of all the abilities they have- good morale, fast moving, good stamina, warcry etc. and the attack of 13 being on par with chosen swordsmen but even so, not sure they are really worth it.

They're not worth it sadly but I usually build one. They're decent shock troops with all their abilities but swordsman are just much more sensible as a choice.
