A journey into the Wild | The story behind the Antler jewelry

A beautiful reindeer antler found in the forest when my parents walked their dog, became the inspiration to these pieces of jewelry. It was almost a year long process before we got to the real result, and held the silver antler jewelry in our hands. We are so happy with how they turned out in the end.
I hope this little story can bring you some inspiration. Or just to get a little glimpse in how it can look like behind the scenes of creating jewelry, from idea to finished result.

I'm 74, Jonna, and I still have a childhood book called Elle Kari, about a blond girl from Lapland. It's about their culture and living among the reindeer, building huts and their daily life. Your story reminded me so much about my book. The new jewelry is beautiful. (I'm in New England in the U.S. and my ancestry is Swedish).

I have a great little story!! First of all, I just returned from a 10 day hiking trip in wintry Alaska where I was wearing the Wild earrings and the Rimfrost ring the whole time! Only a few days after returning home I was working in the little art gallery here in a tiny town in CA, and a customer commented that she loved my earrings. She asked where I got them, and I said, “From my favorite KZfaq girl!” And she immediately asked “is it Jonna?” So here in the middle of nowhere California, I met a fellow fan of yours! It was so cool! Love to all!

@@diezelvh4133 No, its handmade and they use silver. The plastic ones you saw, where made to see what it would look like and to have a modell to refer to. The actual jewerly is not made out of plastic.

My mother used to knit me a Jumper just like the one used in this video every year. She used to joke not another Icelandic knit jumper! They are knitted in a circle so the only seems are where the arms are connected to the body of the jumper. The quality of the wool used means that over 30 years later I can still wear some of them. The rest I have outgrown. Although she died in 2014 ever time I wear one I am reminded of the love she had for me. It is a tradition that I wear a white and blue one on Christmas Day. Each one is a work of art not just skill.

Back in 2018 I was hiking the Kungsleden trail, heading towards Abisko. I was in a moment of transition, in more ways than just hiking, as I had recently quit my job, was heading back to school and recovering from severe stress caused by said job. I had decided to head to northern Sweden as the nature spoke to me, and while exploring the areas around my campsite, on a beautiful night as the sun was rising, I found a huge reindeer antler hidden away in the low bushes. It spoke directly to my heart, and I carried it home. I've had it in my living room ever since, hanging on the wall as a daily reminder of what can happen if you just continue walking (human or a reindeer). Your wild collection is absolutely stunning, and I can't wait for my order to arrive. Much love 🤍

Words can't describe how much it has helped me mentally and physically since the summer. As someone who grew up in the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago, my heart yearns to return to the olden days...I have family in Europe who still live a rural lifestyle(farming and tending to the land/animals), and every part of me wants to leave Chicago and return "home". So much peace. So much serenity and tranquility.
