The Labour Party has adopted a wide-ranging definition of "Islamophobia", which it currently expects all of its councils to accept. If Labour wins the General Election, it is expected to introduce this draconian restriction on free speech as legislation, either on its own or as part of a Race Relations Bill.
This is chilling. No religion should be above criticism. Criminalising anti-Muslim or anti-Jewish or anti-Christian hatred is one thing. But to criminalise criticism of the religion and ideology of Islam is another thing entirely.

TECHNICALLY, unless you're using it as a proper noun (like in the book-title, 'Holy Bible'), or as the first word in a sentence, it's correct for the first letter to be a lower-case 'b'. My 11 year old child was chased by a group Muslim older lads and they pulled a knife out on him and tried to stab him in the eye, he was terrified and actually vomited with fear. I contacted the police as we had all the names, they did not come out for over a week, I’m sure a criminal offence should be dealt with asap, eventually they turned up but only to talk to my son and us, not writing any information or details or taking a statement from us, we gave the names of them involved. They said they will have to go talk to their superior and come back in a few days for further investigation, that was a year ago now, they didn’t come back or go visit the lads that did it let alone want to give us a chance to charge and make a complaint and statement. No crime number or investigation, absolutely nothing done for a serious crime. Iv not been contacted once since. Surely this is criminal behaviour from the police and against my and my kid’s rights as UK citizens.

When someone with a phobia confronts their fears it instigates a visceral uncontrollable reaction of fear and anxiety. Thus there is no such thing as Islamophobia. I have never met one person who has a phobia against Islam. I do see people criticising the violence, anti-semitism, grooming gangs, war mongering and hatred of the West but that is not islamophobia.

England has seen many revolts and civil wars throughout its history, and I believe that many politicians forget this when passing laws for minority groups that disparage the established political class and restrict their freedoms of speech and movement. To claim that civil uprisings will never happen again is, at best, naive and silly. I had never considered civil revolt as a means of restoring free political democracy, but after seeing what happened in England, I'm reconsidering. To secure the future, it may be necessary for some to revisit past historical actions.
