Looks so good in white. I usually don’t care for blacked-out wheels, but man does it work here! Love the updated G70! And-Genesis needs their own dealerships!

I would purchase a Genesis over a BMW or an Audi (I currently own a BMW 5 series). The quality of the G70 - in fact the entire Genesis lineup - seems to be on par. Next to Lexus, the reliability (and warranty) exceeds either one.

Agreed. My 2018 G90 V8 was the best used luxury car bargain ever. The attention to detail, standard features and lengthy warranty cant be beat. I considered a pre-driven S560 but the high maintenance costs and length of warranty coverage was a deal breaker. I'd buy another G90 in a heartbeat.

You really shouldn’t purchase any of these cars. They become a liability after 3 years. Lease them. I lease mine. The luxury dealers will even confirm that wealthy people lease these types of cars- probably 90% of them. Ask your personal financial planner to verify what I’m sharing if you have questions. There are many reasons for it.

@@2004cyrus of course wealthy people lease. They don't mind perpetual payments and can upgrade constantly. Most people buy so they can avoid payments after they pay it off.

@@dansourile5444 I lease my cars and have the last 3. People think they are paying off a car but they really aren’t. Cars are always not investments, they are liabilities as you know. And they depreciate every month forever so the owner is just losing on their depreciating asset, or lack thereof. To me that’s a payment because the value evaporates. The owner may have something to drive to work but the maintenance costs so much when it breaks and it’s all on them to pay for: tires are on them. But I see what you mean, a lot of people don’t understand leasing and it’s scary. But the interest or money factor is near zero for those who qualify, you just build that payment into the company budget and it’s paid for. I love it and I get to drive new vehicles with current safety equipment and technology and free loaner cars if I need one. I’ve never gone over miles but those can be paid for. I like to ride in style and not spend time under the car or at the service department. And I never have had to. People waste money on Starbucks and Nike shoes and expensive entertainment or gambling yet they don’t want to commit to a $500 a month payment for something nice that they don’t have to own. I don’t get why more woolen don’t do it and just stay in a cycle of trading every 3 years. And If they don’t take good care of the care, they can simply trade it in and wash their hands of it, I’m not speaking of oil changes of course but trashing the inside doesn’t cost much unless it’s cosmetic and larger than a credit card. But hey that’s why we all have choices. What works for me doesn’t work for everyone. I’ve got everyone I know on board with leasing. My family has dealerships in Florida and Oklahoma and Texas. Of course now we live in some interesting times and things have shifted under our feet. If we can get a good Republican president back in the White House when can fix all of these unnecessary manufactured moves toward socialism and Marxism.

I purchased my 2019 Genesis G70 3.3 T April 2019. I first test drove BMW and Mercedes. Neither of those vehicles did anything for me. Even though they were new vehicles, they felt old (2019 model year). After 65K miles and no issues, I know that I made the right choice. I admit that I do prefer the new front end over that of my 2019, but I prefer the rear end of my 2019 better. Of course I liked to have the larger infotainment screen. Just had my 65K miles scheduled maintenance yesterday, only $54.99. At these prices, I don't mind taking my Genesis G70 to a Hyundai dealership for service. A vanilla latte is not worth $400!

I tested 330i, A4, and IS350 before the purchase of my G70. I actually paid for a 330i with 10k miles. It drives great, but the check engine light was on when I was driving it home, so I know I must return it. The BMW/Audi interior feels cheap plastic, it squeaks when I push here and there. The G70 interior build is much better, and 3.3t definitely drives better than the non-sport version german cars. Lexus is super comfortable but so outdated. I will buy it maybe when I get 10 years older.

nice review. am between the TLX S and this car. Have heard good about both. I'd love to see a stick shift option, a panoramic roof and drop down rear seat and a back trunk and window that open together so I can put a mountain bike in the back. The Ac has it on looks, though. It just looks more athletic and tougher than the Genesis.

That’s very generous. Nice cars but I don’t think they deserve to be part of the conversation based on their poor reliability in the beginning and there is just no heritage. They have to offer a long ass warranty to compete.

@@2004cyrus But Kody how long must we keep them in that box or container because of their humble beginning? I had a BMW that wasn't of the best quality and my cousin has a MB that need constant repairs but I think no less of there prowess. The beginning of anyone or anything is important, but not as important as how we or it ends.

@@2004cyrus Genesis offers 10 year warranty, where as most of other brands only offer 4 years. That alone is worth buying Genesis I think. Plus Genesis brand has been around actually over a decade. I've seen many late 2000 models with over 200k miles. Probably cheaper to maintain also (But I have not owned one before so I may be wrong)
@2004cyrus

@@420hansol the Genesis model was around for a decade or so as a Hyundai model. Genesis didn’t get introduced as its own brands until November 2015. So not even 6 years. The warranty is nice. I would only lease a Genesis or German brand either way.

I love when people come with their wish lists. I wish that it had that, I wish it had this. Genesis is a new brand. It's very expensive to adhere to everyone's wish list. Especially now, since a lot of manufacturers are getting into electric vehicles. Maybe the electric vehicle will address the extra power wish list! Genesis has some tough choices to make to ensure it's success!

Where I live there are way to many Audi and BMW’s they are to common and don’t stand out so I bought a G70. I wish this car had the GV70 gauge cluster and the car would be near perfect. The 4 cylinder car would benefit having the GV 70 311 hp engine vs the 2 liter engine. This car will out run the type s Acura and it’s more comparable to the BMW M340I.

I have to be honest, I don't like the refresh. It doesn't appeal to me aesthetically. First, that crest grille is yuck. The split headlamps are inelegant (they should stretch around much further). The pre-refresh G70 looked much better. And I miss the fog lamps. Second, I like that the pre-refresh G70 could be mistaken for a Bentley or Aston Martin. Borrowing aesthetic sensibilities from other brands is a Good Thing. Third, the rear end of the refreshed G70 is butt ugly (pun intended). The pre-fresh G70 looked much better. Fourth, the refreshed gauge cluster, which is half physical and half digital, is unappealing. Make it all-physical or all-digital but *don't* do half and half. (The blind spot imaging could've been placed in the center display.) Fifth, I liked the boomerang side vents on the pre-refresh G70. They gave the car a unique look. The refreshed G70 loses that uniqueness and could be mistaken for any other Genesis model. The 2022 G70 is still an excellent vehicle but it'll never get the same kind of love from me as in the pre-refresh G70.

Of course that is subjective. I owned a 2018 G90 V8 and Ioved it mainly because of what I considered to be conservative, subdued styling...but the car got a LOT of attention and questions regarding what model it was. Most surprisingly, people often asked me if it was a Bentley. In any case, the car was impressive and a bargain as a used luxury car at the time. The car was destroyed by a driver that ran a red light, and I will be replacing it with a 2020 model when these crazy used car proces stabilize.
