WHOOPS! We missed "Us and Them"!! We will get that recorded and released ASAP.
Trying to run a business and maintain this release schedule is challenging.
Welcome! Please SUBSCRIBE to our channel and LIKE our videos! We READ EVERY SINGLE COMMENT! Your comments help us make choices for future reactions.
We post 5 or more videos weekly! Click the POST NOTIFICATION BELL so you don't miss a single Literalist Reaction!
Unlike most reactioneers, we are 100% honest with no shooting marshmallows up people's butts if they financially support.
John (the guy in the dark on the right) has been a MUSIC LOVER since he was born. Problem is, he rarely knows or fully grasps the lyrics. Dave (on the left), on the other hand, has never heard or rarely overheard the music John chooses to play him, but tends to take lyrics literally, often to comical ends.
John remains in the dark both as a wry play on the situation but also because of legal issues causing his attorney to recommend maintaining a low profile.
We did not write nor do we own the Copyright for the song used in this Educational Video. This is a real, honest reaction to a song Dave have never consciously heard before and/or listened to with intent. Any "facts" spewed by John "Doh" are based more on his remembrances than on any actual research. Please feel free to correct him. He loves it.
Fair use principles under Section 107 of the Copyright Act allow the unlicensed use of copyrighted materials for fair use purposes, such as commentary, criticism, teaching, and news reporting.

Give Animals a try. Lyrics and music are just as brilliant. You’ll also love ‘Wish You Were Here’ as a complete album.

It’s a shame I can not like this comment more than once. The essential Pink Floyd albums are: Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall! The new Animals remix and remaster is the best imo.

I hope you guys do more of Pulse, it's the best concert ever recorded IMO, especially songs like High Hopes, Sorrow, Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell. For live album reactions, I'd recommend David Gilmour's solo album On An Island. He played the whole album on his 2006 solo tour (it's also the last tour with Richard), and two concerts were recorded and released as 'Remember That Night (Live At The Royal Albert Hall)' and 'Live In Gdansk'. Both are on Gilmour's youtube channel, but the DVDs are absolutely worth buying. Of the two, 'Remember That Night' is better IMO. In some sense it's the opposite of Pink Floyd: instead of Roger's angst, you get Gilmour singing about being content - not a rainy day album, but a summer's eve album. So obviously it's not as deep, but David's musicality is just so beautiful. For standalone reactions, you could also do one of the amazing versions of 'Echoes' from these two concerts.

There will be more from Pulse. Dave was already impressed with the lights, and the fact is, the lights did very little on the whole DSOM portion. The real light extravaganza is about to begin, eh?

First off, I recently discovered your channel, and I love watching it. Great content guy! Thank you!! Second, if you were interested in concept albums, I do not believe there is a better one than Queensrÿche’s Operation: Mindcrime from 1988. I would love to see you guys do that one.

You guys missed something? And "Us and Them" is what I really miss. What am I saying, whatever you're missing from this album, I'm missing! As an aside, I'm probably in a similar position to John Doh: I first heard the whole album when I was about ten years old. Having been born in the former communist Czechoslovakia, I quite understandably didn't speak English (which, after all, I sadly still don't), so I didn't understand the lyrics. But it hit me anyway. All those sound effects of clinking money, helicopters (planes), chiming and striking clocks... I was fascinated. It wasn't until much later that I translated the lyrics and only discovered how powerful the words were to complement the fantastic music. In my opinion, it's the best thing ever created in the modern musical era. When you think about it from the perspective of today's music, which is so shallow and superficial, it's almost unreal what ideas Roger Waters was able to formulate and how they were able to put them together with this fabulous music. If you want to continue listening to another album, then there is definitely my favourite Pink Floyd album: 'Wish You Were Here'. It's probably not recorded live like this in its entirety, but I'd settle for the studio version...

Of course I'm sure you know by now they're playing "Brain Damage" when you called it "Us and Them". Not a big deal but I'm sure you will play "Us and Them" which is a lot of people's favorite song on this album! You guys are doing a good job just keep it up! Also I think you're right about one thing, if Roger Waters and David Gilmour had been able to get along I really believe we were robbed of at least one more "Dark Side of the Moon" and at least another "Animal's" album! They both write really good songs and music Alone but they're "way better together" even if they can't seem to get along?

We did it and they blocked it. We fought it and they won. Even though others have this awesome tune, we were denied, and they are not required to say why.

I am not sure what PF has defined as the Motif for this Masterpiece Collection, Concept Album, but the final statement would strongly suggest that the core meaning, IS, A Little Evil, Goes A Long Way. "A little leaven, leveaneth the whole lump" "Everything Under The "Sun" is in Tune, but, The Sun is eclipsed by the Moon." Dave of course you will find when You hear the Original Recording, that every Note, is Precisely Placed, Perfectly, especially in "Any Colour You Like" The Entire Album, simply stunning!👍 This Live Show is Superb. I think that Roger has found Syd to be correct though. "And You believe at heart, everyone's a killer" this is the personal issue that eludes mankind. PF

If you plan to do The Wall, you might want to do the live version 'Is There Anybody Out There - The Wall Live 1980-1981'. I actually think it's superior to the studio album.
