For 130 years, Bosnians have lived in a Turkish village where they have managed to preserve their language and some Bosnian traditions. We visited Turankoy village and talked to its residents to find out more about their bond with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

@@PakistanDefenseForum First violent Christianization, then violent communism and finally the European Christian civilization did its thing, people live here like their idols from Europe, which they imitate! As for this saying, it's just a joke that people in Bosnia tell when the topic is women, of course there are some good women among the bad ones, but there are very few! Women can't be good when men are not good, men are responsible for their wives and daughters, so if women are bad it just reflects the fact that men are bad too!

@@GulsenMelda The grammar is difficult. Don't teach her. Just learn the words and you can understand everything. Enough Turkish words with small changes. It is estimated that 70% of the words are Turkism. To begin with, learn the alphabet and each letter is one voice. It's not like English, write 10 letters and say 4. Arabic system. Bosnian is very easy to read. The logic of the sentence is reversed in relation to the Turkish language. It may be a problem for you but if you know English then it is not a problem for you. @MIKRASIATISSA

Hardly, it's already replaced by Turkish. These people are old, their kids won't grow up speaking the language, and current economic situation will not provide them with funds to travel to Bosnia, following generation will forget their roots, cause they don't speak the language and it'll be forever gone. All that population exchanges, language reforms, diplomatic agreements, were to become a strong Turkish nation, anti-multicultural mindset, homogenous nation dreamers. Arabs and Kurds are bigger in numbers, they can keep their language/culture alive a few more generations, but the smaller communities like Bosnaks (Bosnians), Rum (Greeks), Laz (Georgian), Hemshen (Armenian), and some others will not survive a decade. I'm paternally Albanian and Bulgarian, and my mother is Greek (to an Istanbulite Orthodox Greek mother and a Muslim Pontian Greek father). I'm a born and raised Istanbulite myself, with such heritage, but I hardly speak Greek. My grandma spoke some Bulgarian, as far as she could remember her mom saying stuff to her, she had early dementia, so no Bulgarian... My dad can't speak Bulgarian. My grandfa died way before I was born, and taught my dad nothing in Albanian. & Here I am with intermediate level of modern Greek... Not even Pontiaka (Pontian Greek). I wish I could keep my cultures alive by speaking the languages at a decent level...

Up until 1878 (most these people came to Turkiye after Congress of Berlin in 1878), Sandzak was a part of Bosnia for centuries (west part of today's Sandzak was part of Bosnia even before the Ottomans in Bosnia)... so Sandzak is Bosnian heritage!!

I was so surprised when I saw this video for the first time yesterday. I grew up in this village and I can say it's very nice to get greetings from all over the world. Thank you all, thank you Haris. By the way, our beloved grandma Hatice (we prefer to call her "Nana Hatidza") who's sitting next to Haris between 4:16 and 4:32 in the video is under intensive care right now and needs your prayers..

I'm neither Bosnian nor Turkish but I feel the same pain of Bosnian Massacre. It saddened me often when I recall the atrocities committed by Bosnian Serb forces. I was kid(6 years old) in 1995 and always reluctant to drink milk in breakfast before leaving for school. Once my mother shared stories of grief and pain about ongoing genocide of ethnic Bosnian Muslims. My mother tears were on her cheeks when she said to me that you don't thank to ALLAH for what you are getting to eat while there are many kids who sleep empty stomach. I'm from Pakistan, thousand miles away from Bosnia but connected with them by religiously and emotionally.
