I'm 92, I like mine, shoots a little low took a bit off the front sight, both SASD, SD works for me too but no accuracy, but did send the bullets' down range. Buffed (drill with 22 copper barrel brush) the cylinders ejected fired rounds not bad for me. I sold my both Heritage, Chiappa 22lr/22mag, keeping the Sidekick.

You are right all the big channels hyped it up. Of course that's what they typically do. Mine the cylinders were so tight that you had to hit the ejector rod so hard I was afraid it would eventually bend it. Mine has been at diamondback for 4 months now. Waiting on replacement cylinders. Which they say they don't produce but outsource. Called them today to check on it and they said it would probably be another month. So to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. As soon as mine comes back I'm going to send it on down the road.

OK, I just purchased mine today and I have not shot it as yet but I did find out that you can Dry Fire this Gun without harming the Firing Pin because of the design of this cylinder! The single action is great and the double action trigger pull is very stiff at first but I found that after pulling that double action 4 or five times It has gotten much better! And soon as I can order some .22 mag ammo I will start to take it to my LGR which I visit once every week and I'm only going to shoot it with .22 mag ammo because I have 4 other semi auto 22LR guns to play with. I love the fact that it has dual 9 round cylinders and the Price was right at $330.00!

Double action Trigger pull should be around 12 pounds (that's what mine comes in at). If yours isn't perhaps contact Diamondback to get them to adjust it. in fact, my stock trigger is near perfect in both SA and DA. Honestly I've been impressed with how accurately I can shoot my sidekick double action. (Sidekick biggest problem: How my sights have required lots of filing, as they were I factory set to shoot 150 yards with a cross wind).

Good to know. Much better than the "Oh its perfect!" Up until recently the industry couldn't turn out a decent semi auto in .22 LR either. Most of the revolvers seem to have some problem, whether its this one's DA or the Taurus 942 failure to eject. Or Ruger and S&W being way overpriced. Charter arms and their light primer strikes.

I bought one. Got it home. It obviously had problems with the single action and double action cocking and trigger pull. If you cocked it and tried to let hammer down it would hang up. I contacted Diamond Back, they paid for shipping both ways and now it seems to work perfectly. The double action pull is a little heavy compared to what I am used to. A High Standard Sentinel and a Taurus S+W clone that I had for years. But I found that its acceptable. When I pull the trigger back by the time tip of my trigger finger contacts the top of the grip, the hammer is just staged to break. So that works for me. But if you have any doubts about the operation or if it hangs up, contact Diamond Back. It was a pain but they paid for shipping and fixed the problem.

Sure it’s a heavy trigger but what can you expect for the price? I’m beyond happy with it considering it was 1/2 to 2/3 the price of a Hi Standard. Master a Nagant Revolver. You’ll never complain about triggers again. 27 pound factory DA, 12 pound SA.

Please, please, please DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE GUNS! I watched the negative reviews, but bought one anyway. This gun has some horrible issues with accuracy, extracting empty casings, and key holing. Even more shooting in double action will be nearly impossible to hit anything past 5 yards. I contacted Diamondback and m waiting for a return reply. Even more you will absolutely have to file the front sight because the gun shoots nearly a foot low out of the box. I love the features of this gun, but features without performance equals ZERO, zilch, zip, nothing. This is honesly the first gun I have ever been taken on in my life. Unfortunately it is my fault because I did not head the negative warnings on various KZfaq reviews. On a positive note, my pistol shot excellent groups and extracted very well with the magnum cylinder. It appears to not have any coating on it, simply factory bluing. At least they fixed that problem. The 22 LR mag is what gave me problems. Maybe a new mag will fix the problem. It is unfortunate because the gun is seemingly well built and looks great. I would have loved it to work out because I need a carry piece with me while working on the farm. Needless to say I am sticking with my Heritage rough rider and my Sport Arms of Florida 6 shooter (similar to Heritage)! Diamondback needs to recall this dog and refund the money back that everyone wasted on this pitiful pistol!

I've watched quite a few of the DB 22 reviews. It occurs to me that many reviewers have no second thoughts about grabbing the muzzle with their hand or sticking their thumbs over the end of the muzzle while pulling the knob to open the cylinder. I suggest you and others take some good pictures of your hands without holes and while you still have thumbs, put them in your scrapbook so you can see what they used to be like before they got blown up by poor muzzle control. Remember rule number twoof safe firearm handling...never point the muzzle at anything you don't wish to destroy. And the gun itself doesn't seem to be worth a hand or at least one thumb.

And then I cocked the hammer and it felt so clunky and almost like plastic. then I through some snap caps in to test the trigger and thats when I fully felt like I just wasted $250. Heratige and Ruger Wranger (regular) are cheaper priced, but the quality is miles better, but those are only SA and what sold about the DB was the DA. Csnt say I want to touch anything DB again

I have the same issue. I'm hoping it gets better after breaking it in. First time out I put about 200 rounds through it at the range and had a blister on my trigger finger from pulling so hard in double action. The spent shells also got stuck trying to eject them and it required some effort to pull them out. I also have the same scratched on the side because ejecting the shells requires so much effort they scrape the side of the gun if you are not careful. And this is all after taking it to the range only one time. It would be an awesome gun if it worked smoothly, so I'm hoping it improves with time.

I like mine but definitely some QC issues. I was excited when I heard about this on the net and decided I wanted one. SA feel with a DA trigger. COOL. I found one at a local gun show and talked the guy down to 3 bills OTD including tax. Like you, I was very disappointed with the DA pull. The manual said it was safe to dry fire, so I oiled it and just sat and dry fired it every night until my hand was sore. That seemed to help some. I finally got to the range and noticed it shot low. I held it in the front sight where it was accurate made a mark on it and ground it down when I got home. I put a few hundred rounds of lr and mag through it and noticed that the da pull seemed to be getting a bit better. I don't have a scale so I don't have a weight on it. The DA was definitely less though. My biggest irritation was ejecting mag cases. The empties that were the closest to the frame actually scraped brass into it after a while and I really had to fight to get the them out. When I got home I took out my dremel and put a polishing stone in it. I tapered a ramp where it was scraping and now they eject fine. I used some aluminum black on the face of the ramp and it's barely noticable. It's a shame that you would have to do all that to a brand new gun. These are design flaws that the factory knew they had and yet let them go out like that anyway. I put a set of walnut lined black pearl grips on it and it looks pretty good. Overall I like the gun AFTER I fixed it.

I was very excited for mine and was pleased at how accurate it was and how well it shot .22lr. However I didn’t buy it for that, I bought it for a 9 shot double action .22 mag revolver and I was really really close to being disappointed on that end. Every single .22 mag round except for Spear Gold dot rounds would have ejection issues. Luckily what I specifically bought it to shoot was that round. It shoots and ejects those like a dream. On the other end the Winchester v-max 30 grain .22 mag rounds jam my cylinder up every time no matter how much I “break it in”.

I just bought one of these last week. The box now says, plus the manual has been changed in big bold letters to say that dry firing will void the warranty. Both cylinders had failure to be able to eject. I had to literally drive the cartridges out of each chamber using an ejection rod from a Heritage Bar Keep. The single action trigger was great. The double was so hard I felt something was going to break inside the gun before it would fire. I returned it to Academy and they said they have had to send back every single one that they have sold for the same problems. I hope it can be fixed. It has been shot 18 times by me. I got my Sidekick at a charity auction last year. Out of the box, it was having problems where it would get bound up when pulling the trigger, or pulling the hammer back. I contacted Diamondback last week, they provided me a shipping label and I shipped it back. They received it yesterday morning and I just got an email from them in the afternoon that they’re replacing the gun and shipping it to my FFL and offered up to $40 reimbursement for the transfer fees. I guess one positive of a cheap gun like this is if it’s not working then the manufacturer just replaces it instead of investing labor to repair it. It’s not what happens to you, but what you do about it. The fact that Diamondback made a decision so quickly is a positive. Let’s see how quickly they actually get a new gun to my FFL. But, so far, Diamondback seems responsive. The Ceracote finish that Diamondback uses seems to make the cylinder bores too narrow and the little bit of expansion of the brass after firing makes the casings hard to extract. If this happens with the replacement, I might try some kind of wire brush in the cylinder bores… or just keep shooting it until it wears off the ceracote. I wonder if the internals have a coating of Ceracote and that’s making a stiff double action?

GP100 is a solid well built firearm. You can get trigger spring kits for them from MCarbo that can drop it down to as low as 7.5 lbs for the double pull which is quite decent. And sure enough I was right. Didnt have this thing 3 weeks before the thing just broke. Kept having issues where the cylinder wouldnt move and couldn't get out. Brought it home, cleaned it, through some snap caps in to test it. Pulled it from DA twice and the firing pin just broke through and actually pushed the snapcap through the barrel logging it stuck half into the barrel and cylinder

With a classic Ruger Single Six you are ejecting the spent cartridge one at a time with the push rod, and you will find that it takes a bit of a bump to do so. In the Sidekick you are trying to push nine cartridges all at once. .22 cases swell more than you think. In a semi auto you are having the force of the cartridge fired to help eject the cartridge. .22 mag is worse ejecting the cartridges because of the length of the case swell. I use a wood dowel to punch out each .22 mag case individually. This is an issue with just about all .22 revolvers with a pop out cylinder, especially when you are trying to push out 9 spent cartridges at once. Try different brands of .22 cartridges and pick the ones that do work better for you and keep that wood dowel handy regardless. It is a bit of physics to be considered. NAA (North American Arms) mini revolvers specifically state not to use Armscor .22 magnum cartridges because they swell more in the cylinder and then are forced against the back of the cylinder making removal very difficult. Comments are most welcome.

I looked at 3 at my shop here, I couldn't make that pull on any of them. I have 5 other single/double revolvers and I have no problem with any of those double actions. And what you showed. where you got near the full pull, as a woman, that's as far as I could get just short of a full pull. Also, I did use snap caps to try it out and it would be fine if it had a reasonable double action. I correct myself, I forgot my Judge, it has a heavy double action, but not near this, not by a mile!

They seem like ultra budget guns- I know Edward Sarkissian has one he says he likes, but he never seems to have the same level of concern over fit and finish as many do, as long as the work he seems to like them. I guess if it functions, and it doesn’t cost a lot it’s OK but yours seems to be a lemon :/ the way the release on these is a bit weird to me as well. Not my favorite. getting a quality used old school revolver like a H&R 9 shot would be better than this.
