First car?? Yo that brings back memories, despite me being only a year older than Josh lmaoo. My first car was a 1989 Buick LaSabre that my granddad sold to me for $500. Heroin, Coke, etc. are not legal in Amsterdam or anywhere in the Netherlands. Weed isn't even really legal. They just don't prosecute for use and properly taxed sales. You can even grow your own in certain amounts. The laws are murky though. The systems in place to help drug users seem extraordinary to Americans, but are intended to help not demonise users.

Just to clear some things up. Drugs, both soft and hard, are not legal in Amsterdam (which is actually the Netherlands). They are illegal, but the sell and use of primarily soft drugs is 'tolerated" by the authorities. And that's only for when you're in the possession of relatively small quantities. Selling large quantities or producing drugs etc is still very much a crime! Which doesn't take care of the problem imo, it just makes things a lot more complicated! It's also kind of a misconception that Amsterdam (well the Netherlands really) doesn't have drug related crimes. It's quite the opposite. Drug cartels go after each other all the time.
