@@Th3unseenvisionary people should get appreciation for following rules. It shows we as a society value people who obey laws. For an exaggerated example, dogs, they get treats everytime they do something good and even hear good boy or good girl. They also get Pat's on the back and petting. Humans do this but socially, we have to appreciate the good people or it shows we don't care whether people do good or bad.

@@thorfinnoars1443 I agree with you; my comment was more of a critique on the commonly accepted idea that men cheat, women don't. The title says should men get credit for not cheating. I was just pointing out they aren't the only ones doing it, wrong or right. I do agree we as a society should try to be more appreciative of all those who value their relationships.

Being in a relationship implies that both sides should be faithful so neither should get "credit" for it. If you want praise for not cheating, you shouldn't be in a relationship in the first place.

@@PullOverItsDaPopo that's not the point, you're assuming certain terms have been agreed upon, and even then, during the course of your relationship you may realize that your partner doesn't meet the terms YOU set because they were never agreed upon by both parties. There are a myriad of reasons that influence a person's decision to cheat, but they all boil down to a misalignment in communication, whether that be with your partner or yourself. You have to be 100% or actively working towards it before you get into a relationship, otherwise you'll never be happy and will end up yearning for things other than what's presented in your current relationship

The way the title is phrased makes it seem like women dont cheat when studies have shown women from the ages of 18-29 cheat more then men. I dont think people should get credit for something they should do or have no control over, but if we praise parents for having kids when all they did was have unprotected sex, then make kids give parents gifts on mothers and fathers day, then we have to appreciate everything else because it shows as a society we appreciate the love and care that people give us.

But I guess the guy is used to women still staying even when being cheated on, so he feels he deserves a bonus reward in addition to the staying. You want credit for spending time with your kids, you want credit for cutting the grass, you want credit for going to work and paying bills....and you want credit for NOT cheating?!?!? Some of these men really have it twisted. I don't tell my guy about every guy that hits on me, it's not important cuz I don't give my # nor my time to other men. I am honest and loyal, until given a reason not to be. And I won't put myself in situations that could be looked at in a negative way. I have no time for it. And my guy feels the same way. Give yaself credit for not cheating by rewarding yourself with ice cream...don't come at me with that mess🤚🏽

Don't think like that. You may think people around you are "at your level" but you don't know their aspirations and what that are working on that blow them up. People don't share everything they are working on in secret. Plus if you see your current circle as people you need to move away from, those who you deem "on the next level" may see YOU as a lesser level person that they don't need to be around.

I find it strange that when Angela Yee said it can be hard for women too, the men scoffed. Men tell us everyday that women can't know a man and can't raise a man. Why on earth did they scoff when she spoke up? How do they know their experience is harder (and in turn more praise worthy?) than a woman's? So confusing. Except not really.

The point about expectations in relation to men and monogamy (and basically there being none) is truth. On the opposite end, the expectations for women to be monogamous has been the case pretty much since the beginning of time. Historically, in many cultures, societies and religions, women haven't had rights equal to those of their male counterparts; and/or they were treated dang near as property to be owned. And for centuries, women were not to be seen or heard, and had to be covered up cuz they were not to be "enticing" cuz their bodies essentially didn't belong to them. So it's no wonder that historically woman have been the more monogamous partner. The punishment for committing lesser acts in many cases was literally death. So desires be damned, more often than not, we conform to the expectations set out by the big 3: religion, society and culture. And since the expectations have typically been so much lower for men on this topic, some ppl believe it's not possible, necessary or even natural for them 🤷🏾‍♀️

I don't think being praised is the issue. I think it's the reasoning behind why they want the praise. Being in a monogomous relationship is not an easy thing to do or for the faint of heart. It requires dedication, love, loyalty, teamwork, and so much more. I think giving credit to each other will better your relationship as a whole saying things more like "I'm so proud of you and appreciate your awesomeness and willingness to love me, etc.". We are all human so getting genuine, positive reinforcement is always a motivational booster. Just like how women love to hear their men say they are beautiful or call them sexy. The women know they're sexy, but it means so much more to hear it from your significant other.
