St.Maria Goretti's death is a horrific one. Aged 11 (or 12....), she for not the first time was almost raped by a 20 year old son in the farm household her family had to live and work in because they were too poor to keep their own. She was a child, left alone to mend clothes, mind younger children, clean the house, and be assaulted by a predator. The fact that this man is written about kindly , after she endured surgeries minus anaesthetic and then died from the 14 stab wounds he did, baffles. Knowing what we know about the psychology of horrific predatory murderers like this, his "premonition" of Maria giving him 14 lillies, would not be seen in such a favourable light by any judicial system thank God. An opportunistic murderer. His name should never be mentioned or venerated in the same sentence or concept as this young child.
