My many illnesses and surgeries would have been a terrible drain on any religious community I would have joined, which I wanted to do. I didn't know what medical problems would come along but God did. He called into the Secular Franciscan Order instead, which is for lay people living in the world as single and married persons. He has showered me with love and I keep falling more and more in love with Him. I also found purpose in marrying and raising my children. Life is good with God in it as the center.

I loved hearing the story of your calling. Thank you. Ever since I was 25 I cried and prayed God to show me his will for me. I’m 66 and still don’t know my purpose to best serve him. I have been given many many talents but yet I am wandering….

I have had similar feelings . When I was younger ( I am Now 59) I wanted to make a real difference in the world . The older I get and the more battered by life the more I feel that the most important work I can do is on myself and to learn how to become silent and listen to god and pray for myself and others. I have discovered this late in life as in my earlier years I was very much more in favour of social action rather than contemplation. I think all of us have unique soul journeys and have individual lessons in life in our quest for oneness with God .

I actually did a video on that very topic! You can check it out on this channel. Detachment is seriously the most painful part of following the Lord, but it helps when we realize WHO we are leaving it all behind for. Also, everything is ultimately temporary.

Hi Mary married in her life , what about you ?
@sacredheartsisters8912 жыл бұрын
Mary's vocation was that of marriage and motherhood. People who vow chastity are not holier, we simply live a more exclusive relationship with the Lord. My primary relationship is with the Lord. A married person glorifies God through the primary relationship they have with their spouse and children. For Mary it was both since her child is also her Lord.

Me too; after two ex-es; I realized that the One I really like was/is GOD, the Sacred Heart! But, I have a son who is mildly autistic; I am happy being a single parent; I enjoyed having my special son/man. / Please pray for my son Dominic? Very good man; but, some relatives were plotting against him should I leave this world; only for money. One even told me, despite knowing Dominic to be real Autistic; yet, she coldly told me that she will force my son to join the army?! The other one said the house which I owe is going to be his; meaning, he will trick my son to signing. Horrible these people; I cannot understand why they were NOT thinking that there is a GOD Who hears everything!? But, maybe, my Lord made me know their real intentions! May my son remembers to work for the Priest; may he too someday will choose to serve.

Praying for you and your son. Maybe look into putting your assets into a trust w a 3rd party administrator together for your son so so when you are gone he cannot be financially exploited. Look for a pro Bono or legal aide society to help if unable to afford.

Loquacious lovers of God will not inspire vocations. Why should they?
@hayleymarse28532 жыл бұрын
Everyone is called to a different vocation. Seeing sisters and priests living out their vocation leads people to Christ!
@rhodiusscrolls30802 жыл бұрын
@@hayleymarse2853 I read your response wrongly as lying about their vocation On second thoughts I think I read rightly because that is what you defend as people living for God. I dont see that talking as you do and they do will ever witness to dedication to God. End of story.
@hayleymarse28532 жыл бұрын
@@rhodiusscrolls3080 first of all, you need to work on sentence structure. It’s near impossible to understand what you are trying to say. Second, some people are called to the vocation of religious life. Not everyone gets there the same way. Last week I got to talk to four different religious sisters. 3/4 had trouble with God and religion and for some reason or another, came back. The one who immediately joined a convent after graduating high school was the only story I related to. My point is simply that the ways in which some people find God are going to be different than the ways other people do. Some people fall in love with God immediately and some don’t. The fact that so many unique stories exist within religious life provides a beautiful witness to the call to holiness
@rhodiusscrolls30802 жыл бұрын
@@hayleymarse2853 You need to ditch your disastrous theology of people falling in love with God. However I phrase this I find it the bane of anyone talking about Christ and His message. You are convinced that Love is God and I would contend that it is not God. There are no marriages in heaven and people unconcerned about the Flood were eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage. The Flood will destroy pretended lovers of God. You must give up talking back at me whether to correct my sentences or otherwise. I do not follow or hold to half of what you say and I am damned if I think its your grammar or expression at fault. Its sexualisation heresy and I must leave you with it,
