The Allalinhorn is typically described as the second “easiest” 4000 meter peak in the Swiss Alps, next to Breithorn. It’s part of the Mischabel range, a range that arcs in a semicircle around the infamous town, Saas-Fee. The normal Allalinhorn route is a very popular climb due to its accessibility from the Mittelallalin mountain station, and its non-technical route. Despite it being less technical than most 4000ers in the Swiss alps, there are still large crevasses in the area and crampons and roping up is recommended. This is a great first 4000er if you are new to mountaineering/hochtouren, and I’d highly recommend it!
