Mr. Bossk Actually Proprietary memory cards price is what is killing this amazing little handheld. If Sony would lower the price it would sell a who lot better. I just bought a used Vita and the 4GB card which was $32.00 dollars alone. Kind of pricey but the system is amazing. I like it way better than I did the New 3DS XL. The game library at this time is great by the way.

I like to call it my personal "Persona 4 Golden machine." Would probably be the system seller for most people, but I like me some Disgaea, Freedom Wars, and some PS1 emulation on the side.

It was almost exclusively my PSOne emulator/MP3 player/emergency camera and was used mostly to play the FFX Remaster (and like the original game, I didn't bother ending it)... Prepared for sale since I refuse to own a console associated with otoge...

Agreed. I travel a lot and love taking this thing with me everywhere. I play so many retro games along with psp and vita games. The controls are great and there is so much content if you mod it.

Yeah I have found especially on little big planet psvita where it would take ages to load a level and most of the time just totally freeze, whereas with the ps3 games loading the levels is pretty much instant, such a shame though as I love the game

Funny thing is, they made more games for it than I realized. I didn't realize it until my local Target had all their Vita games on a discount. I still wish it had more games because it is a better handheld than the 3DS (aside from games of course).

XenoGamR 3ds is good for simple games that aren't graphicly taxing on the system. The games also tend to be short and visually more childish. (Yes there are exceptions but I'm talking overall) the vita however, is a power house and I like having high quality graphics on the go. The vitas library maybe smaller but there games are so much bigger and longer with detailed storylines that help me become immersed. I like characters that I can connect with. I prefer darker tones. I prefer my open worlds to be impressive and stunning. That's why I prefer my vita over my 3ds

From what I'm aware of, I think the Vita is a lot more popular in Japan compared to everywhere else. It has pleanty of games that look REALLY cool and way more exclusives that work great or a lot of titles that are in Japan only like a new Digimon RPG and Phantasy Star Online 2 on a mobile device. I feel that if they brought some of these games to America, or where ever it might seem relavent, that people seem like they really want (Phantasy Star Online 2 for me), it would make a kind of comeback that the 3DS made when Nintendo got their shit together. Now that I mention this, there are a small list of games coming out for it pretty soon, just bothers me how most of them are generic looking graphic novel.

+MikeyTaylorGaming I'd say the 3DS does touch screens much better. The way the Vita did it was just an annoying waste. I would have been happy if they just ditched the back touch pad and had L2 and R2 but that back touch pad turned me off from the system so I traded it in for a PSP. Its a shame because I enjoyed playing persona 4 on it. I'd say the Vita is the first console ive ever traded in for a previous gen console

Bomberfox I can understand where you are coming from, but I don't think that is a good enough reason to get rid of it. Especially for something that is barely used to begin with. An excluding the back touch pad, the Vita fixed some stuff in the PSP's design, like actual thumb sticks, and putting extra bumpers on the back would have made the console look funny and more clunky, thus making it harder to pack into places. Also, the Vita has some other good games other than Persona 4 Golden. Like Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars, and the Metal Gear collection which did MGS3 a bit more justice on mobile than the 3DS did.

Grimmly Hollows True but even if you didnt use the back touch pad, it always got in the way which had me activating stuff when I didnt want to. Not to mention, having to use a touch screen for something they could have easily fixed with buttons just makes the system a pain in the ass to use. I cant have fun playing a good game if the control style is that annoying. Yes I know there is a peripheral that makes up for it but should I have to buy a peripheral to make up for gimmicky design? My best motto for the PS Vita is "We have more touch screens than the DS". Im glad you like it but after playing borderlands 2 on it and having so much crap activate when I didnt want it to just ruined it for me making it the worst handheld ive ever bought (sans those dinky Tiger handheld devices and ive not tried every single handheld device mind you) Then again Sly Cooper thieves in time was fun as well but its better on consoles.

Sony's PSP is one heck of an emulator console though.

I didn't grow up with Nintendo. I don't have any special feelings for Mario, Zelda, Pokemon or any other Nintendo game really. So when people say the 3ds is better than the Vita because of the games I'm like "ummm I don't see it". I like to import Japanese games for my vita, and play jrpgs and rhythm games. Even some of the English releases like Tear Away, LBPVita, Gravity Rush, Rayman and New little king's story have really entertained me. I bought one close to launch and never regretted it. It's strange cause I don't like excessively violent and mature games, so a 3ds should probably appeal to me more. It helps that the screen and graphics are absolutely stunning. I'll get a 3ds eventually though. Apparently animal crossing is so cute and addictive it makes manly men cry.

jarmakey1 You don't see it because you have never played the games. There aren't amy games on any Sony handheld that are better than Super Mario 3D Land or A Link Between Worlds. I love Sony, and own a mountain of consoles, handhelds, and games from all eras and manufacturers. But, some of the first party Nintendo games just can't be beat. Persona is fantastic on Vita, but Shin Megami Tensei on 3DS is exactly as good. People who think the Nintendo stuff is too "kiddy" or cute for them are doing themselves a serious disservice as gamers. I grew up with Nintendo. then I got a job. Now, 30 years later, I realize that devotion to a company is only doing that company a favor, and doesn't benefit you at all as a gamer. There is only one console ever released that had only shit games and is not worth considering buying or even emulating. The Philips CDi. Anything else, buy it if you can get it cheap. There are always at least a few games that will make it worthwhile.

3D? I didn't know that PSvita could do 3D. Guess I'm more of a Nintendo person, so I don't care about the PSVita, but surprised about the 3D, a few years after the 3DS. LAWL. I am not trying to downgrade the PSVita though, I respect it as a good console with good graphics and games etc. BTW, graphics is never something to base your opinion on, but instead the actual game. That is probably why I have always gone for Nintendo over Playstation. :P

PedanticCreeper No no no not 3D as in multilayered projection, 3D as in the 3rd dimension. Like how a side scroller is considered 2D, while a game like Halo, Okami, uncharted, Mario 64, esc I really do hate the person that coined "3D" as the multilayered system instead of what it REALLY is.... do'oh well. And the multilayered 3D thing that the 3DS does with its little screen slider feels very gimmicky; every time i play it on my friend's 3DS i almost always turn it off. And the reason i bought a PS Vita wasn't because of its fancy tech, but like you said, its games. i didn't find many games on the 3DS that i was into, while i found dozens on the Vita that i really wanted to play, its entirely preference. It also helps when you know Japanese...their games are pretty fun.

Ian R Oh, OK. Thanks for clearing that up I can't believe I didn't think of that. Yeah, the 3D is a bit gimmicky, but some games work really well with it. The main reason that it is gimmicky is because Nintendo said to all the people developing games for the 3DS that they had to work well without the 3D, because some people can't see the 3D and it hurts se people's eyes.

Depends on what type of genre you like the most, if you like jrpgs/rpgs you should get the persona's on the psn network. If you dont have access to the network you could buy ffx/x-2 remaster with is pretty fun :) There is also Tales Of Hearts R. You can get almost every game on it once you download them from the psn network. Some shops do sell physical copies of the games though :)

Don't get me wrong, the Vita is an amazing handheld, however the fact that it can only take specific memory cards that are waaaaay too overpriced killed it for me. Why would I use a handheld that can't do anything except Welcome Park without a redculously overpriced memory card? I have one but I rarely use it because my memory card just doesn't have the capacity. I would've loved it otherwise. Sony even makes SD memory cards that are cheaper and have more space but they don't work in a VIta, their own damn handheld.
