In this weeks video we look at all 17 tractors on the farm ( actually 16 and a forklift) but who is counting. Main jobs, horse power, how did they end up here and what are the future plans for them. I did want to do this as part of last weeks video but it would have made the video too long, so here it is.

That's a great collection of Massey Ferguson tractors. As someone who watches Grassmen and John McClean from Farmflix i find it staggering to see how many people are John Deere on the brain and would run down Massey in a heartbeat. OK some of the Massey ranges gave problems but that's the same in every brand. Its good to see a Northern Ireland man having pride in a tractor which has its very DNA in this country. Yourself and the Killen brothers are the only ones i see flying the Massey Ferguson flag (Farmer Phil here in the republic is also a Massey man). We are Massey men also. In my time i remember 135,165,168,185,188, 2 x 575's,590,690,698,699,390,398,399 tractors on the farm and today we still have a 3080,4255,4345 and 5465. Our fleet is getting old but they will have to do for a while yet cos you would need to win the lottery to be able to buy anything new.

Thanks Ollie, thats some range of tractors you have had over the years. I would actually like to add a 42 or 43 series to mine as these were the last out of Banner Lane. I think both the cost of new and even older tractors has gone through the roof.

Great collection there Cathal. Lovely to hear a bit of history about them. The best bit for me tho is that they all have their place on the farm and still do a bit when needed not just gathering dust in a collection.

A lot of memories from te20s,fe35, 65 and 590 and use to drive a 6290 for an old boss, now plenty of projects. great shed full of kit.👍

lots of 590.s do that with the doors . she looks great . and yes spot on with the hp.. only thing that lets then down is the steering

Yes steering can be a bit "slappy" although we did the whole steering up in her about 10 years ago which took a lot of the slack out of it. Just need to sort out the door.

Great video, really enjoyed the walk around the tractor shed and seeing all those lovely classic Masseys! Models such as the 590 & 290 especially bring back great memories as they are the models I used to drive when I was in my teens. As for the 3075, I always wanted one ever since they came out.

Thanks David. Bit like you I seen a 3075 away back in the late 90s cutting silage on a neighbours farm and thought they were fantastic looking tractor.

Great video , I had a 698T some years ago I loved the tractor but it got hard to start so I moved it on for a 6270 as well as a 8220 great tractors , I came across a 390t two years ago it was unloved where it was and is hard to start probably needs a set of sleeves and pistons, my late father's first tractor was a used petrol grey Fergie then he purchased a new TEF20 1955/56 later on a 35 three cylinder so I was born into the Ferguson stable like yourself😁

Interesting video! I have a working fleet of fergys too, albeit a bit bigger ones. 3075, 2x6480, 7618, 7490, 7495, 7620 & 7720 in the working fleet, which has grown in size because we've added to the fleet rather than replace with new since prices have gone silly. We have a more random fleet of almost retired classics too - Ford 5600, Renault 551, International 454 and an auld Major.

Fantastic collection Wow and it’s amazing that you have such a great connection with each one. Hard knowing which ones to tidy up,which ones to restore and which ones to leave in there work clothes as they say. Once you start you gotta keep going 😂😂 Great job with the video keep them coming 👌

Thanks Alan. Goal is to have one from each series that MF built and marketed in UK-Ireland starting from the Grey Fergy up to the 62 series. Would love a 6150 although the 61 series got a bit of a poor rep. Would also love a 2000 series but these are hard to find now and from the prices at the sale yesterday in England they are now crazy money. 43 or 42 series also be nice as they are the last of the Coventry tractors. 90-90 or 100-90 Fiat would be super to have as I drove one years ago and loved it.

@@FlyingFergyMan first tractor as a young farm worker was an FE35, then a 35x then a 65,then 135, then a 148 then 165, then 575 4wd then 595, then 698 with Opico turbo she was a beast 💪💪 then the 2000 series which were a fantastic draft tractor, our neighbours farm had a 1200 and got the chance to work the 2640 alongside it and it just made a fool of the 1200 especially when turning with a Dowdeswell DP8 reversible on the steeper ground much more stable and also seemed to pull better when ploughing uphill 🤔💪💪👍

Some fleet tractors had 168.from new 4000 pound cut terror silage on jf single chop.great tractor until put loader.on it home.made grab far too big it few years later recked

6265 are on paper should be 115 hp, I had one for 2 years but never really liked it, but also had a 6280 and she was a great work horse pulled well

Funny you say that Richard as I did not like the 6265 when it came, but it kind of grew on me when the 3075 was off line. 6280 super machine.

The 6265 had a loader, it replaced a 390 loader tractor. We also had a 3065 which was replaced with a 52 plate 6270 which was a great tractor then we got 51 plate 6280 which I used daily for hauling mushroom compost in 12 ton silage trailer which ther 53 plate 6265 wasn't quite the same on it, It lacked the grunt on the hills. Then the final one to the collection was a 54 plate 6480 which was ok but I didn't like the cab suspension.
