A Look at the 'Italo' AGV 575 RC Train

Found on Ebay for £25 ($33) (E28) this set came with a big surprise.
A great entry level set for those interested in high speed trains. Made by LE Models of Italy under license from Lima/Hornby. This video will become part of the Hornby Junior Project.

Ahh, you got the Bullet train fever I see lol. That is great little train for the money. I love the high speed trains. You have to see if you can locate the Newqida High speed bullet train for your garden railway (it runs a heck of alot better than thier steam engine) I'll have to see if I can find some of the Hornby ones here in the States, that one is really nice. Hi Mike. Yes I've got the fever....lol. I picked up the Hornby junior set after watching a review. It's undergoing some drastic mods at the moment ;) I had the idea to take the RC out of this one and use it in the junior but once I saw the quality I decided to keep it as it is. I'd like to see if I can get some more speed out of it. I'm going to do a tear down soon. All the best mate :)

Salut à tous, le bruit des convertisseurs GTO et IGBT chez GEC-Alsthom des TGV AVE/Euromed/Reseau/Reseau-Duplex/Duplex/PBA/PBKA/TMST/POS/Dasye/KTX-1 et AGV en HO par Jouef/Lima, Mehano, Marklin/Trix et en N par Kato sera-t-elle faisable en modélisme ferroviaire analogique et numérique ? We bought this set two years ago...still haven’t figured out how to get the tracks to stay together

Hi...Thanks for commenting. Maybe you got some bad track in your set. I've got many of these and haven't had any trouble (yet). You have to push them in quite hard until they click...also, you may have trouble if you're not running on a hard surface...laying it on carpet may cause problems. All the best....Tom

wow thats a fantastic set Tom!!!...amazing for the money...the connectors are a great idea...it just goes on!..how many superlatives can we use?!....great train great review cheers dave.

Thanks Dave...It really is an amazing set for £25 and I love the RC. Stunned to find out it's a Lima set, too. So, in a round about way, it goes back to Hornby. It'll look great on the Hornby Junior layout ;) All the best....Tom

Quite impressive for a toy train really. You could detail it up. Noises too. Lights. For the money you can't complain can you? Laurie

I was looking around for battery sets after getting the Hornby and I saw this one had all the Hornby track and accessories... This would be great with a switch for track power, rear lights and a sound chip. Yeah, for the money it's worked out great. Cheers Laurie and all the best mate.

Hi Dave...Haha...Yes, itchy Ebay fingers again. I'm really surprised at the quality of these 'toys' so I'm going to push them a little harder. First will be a modular layout for battery operated trains, then I'll have a go and see how far I can push the Hornby with mods. Always great to hear from you Dave...I hope all's well. Ebay....but they're difficult to find now. You could try Amazon. They come from Italy so you should search for 'Italo Treno' There are three options...One has a basic on/off button, the next is the RC version that I have here and then there's a track powered version.
