A look a 2 very cheap trains sets that make for great value gifts or Xmas/Halloween train projects. For adult collectors or parents.

I might actually keep my eyes peeled for something like this. I've got some grand nieces and nephews that are old enough to reach the layout and grab stuff before I can stop them. If they've got their own toy train to destroy, maybe they'll leave mine alone :)

Hi Gerry, that's a good idea...diversion tactics...lol. Give them some cereal boxes and let them build a small layout :)

Hi Cary. Yes, so good for the price and quite a nice looking little engine. I'm trying to find out what loco it's modelled on so I can give it a re-paint :)

Hi Tom, How funny is that, I have just bought one of those similar sets in Trago Cornwall £4.50. Really good. Mine even has an Led on the front. I have weathered it and the trucks, and stood it in the engine shed with the nose sticking out, looks great. The trucks I put in some real coal and they are on the sidings. purely visual but as you say really well detailed. You would never know unless you picked them up. Thanks for your video, really interesting. All the best Duncan.

Hi Duncan, what a wonderful coincidence. Fantastic for the price...for kids and even model for our layouts. I've taken mine apart and primed all the sections, I noticed then that that it has an LED too. (The more expensive set doesn't have one). I'm going to give them a re-paint and see how far I can go to make them look good. I'm trying to find out which prototype it's modelled on. I have a strong feeling that it's supposed to be a 2-6-0 (Mogul). I'm going to attempt to add the extra axle to the front. I'm also going to have a mess around with the insides. I really like your idea of using them as static models, that's great. All the best mate...Tom

fabulous Tom !..great for the patio!..could you adapt some straights for it?...amazing value cheers,dave
@tomjenssen74865 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, I hope you're well :) I was thinking of disguising some straights in tunnels, bridges, level crossing etc. I'll test it on the Hornby plastic track, too. I was thinking this could be a good little set for a Halloween and/or Christmas layout/diorama. All the best mate :)

I thought you was going to run it on your layout.

The gauge is slightly off so it tends to wobble a bit on the tracks so, just for fun, I'm making a layout for this one with the plastic track. All the best...Tom
